DrakeValentine
I'm not sure if this is an existing topic or anything... but I ran into something I think is odd? Generally, a Pokemon can only pass a dream world ability if it is female and breeds with another member in its egg group correct? I had been running with a Pachirisu for nearly the entirety of the game, and today I decided, "I want a different Electric type on my team." So I looked through my Pokemon to see what I had, I found that I had the trade Mareep, and it has the DW Ability Plus and is a male, but, I wanted one with Static, because generally, that ability would be more useful for me as the only other Pokemon with the Plus or Minus abilities don't really have a place on my team. So, I bred the Mareep with a Ditto, which should double violate the necessary rules to pass a DW ability. And the hatched Mareep has Plus still. I've done it a few times over, and I keep getting Plus for my ability. They also all share the same nature(as the initial Mareep-also the opposite of the one I'd like), and neither the Mareep nor the Ditto are holding an Everstone. Is there a way to get the other ability without having to start over again or something? Edited August 27, 2013 by DrakeValentine
ArmoredGuardian
I think you need another pokemon with static ability or you need to get another electric type and make sure that one of the mareeps is a girl then get pachirusu and you should get a mareep with static but im not actually sure so just try it out and good luck
Shushup
Yea Pokemon can get their Dream World abilities, but sometimes it's hard, and some don't work like Contrary and Defiant, so be careful xD

I tried this, and I got one with Static! Now to get one with a modest nature Yea Pokemon can get their Dream World abilities, but sometimes it's hard, and some don't work like Contrary and Defiant, so be careful xD Haha, I figured that out just now, but I was trying to get a normal ability, and I kept getting DW Abilities, even when I broke all the requirements that were needed to pass the ability down. Khayoz
It's a rule of breeding that females with DW abilities will pass it down to the egg. But I thought that part of the script was taken out due to crashes...
DrakeValentine
It's a rule of breeding that females with DW abilities will pass it down to the egg. But I thought that part of the script was taken out due to crashes... The rule of breeding in terms of DW abilities states something to the effect of, "Only females with DW abilities can pass them to their offspring when mated with another in their egg group- not including Ditto- 60% of the time. My initial Mareep was male, therefore his first offspring shouldn't have had the DW ability at all. Yet it did. Then, my most recent had the natural ability and spontaneously gave its child the DW ability. I asked Amethyst about this and it turns out that in Reborn, there technically aren't DW abilities, the script crashed the game, like you noth said, so she made it so that DW abilities are considered Natural Abilities too. Therefore, if it's an ability that that Pokemon can have, there is a chance of it being passed on, even if the Parent didn't have that ability in the first place. Khayoz
Well yeah, obviously. I got confused by your question because you said you kept getting the DW ability and nothing else

ThBe
I think you should raise its HP's EVs more, supposing it's a tank. Also, if you want Rain Dance Ampharos so bad, you could chain breed it. Catch a M Wooper/Quagsire with Rain Dance (lvl 37) and then breed it with your Mareep. It should give you Rain Dance.
