Energy-chan
I was wondering how close I am to a dawn stone now?As well as how to get through the mountain? Is Cal very strong or is level 36-41 Pokemon high enough?I'm training against trainers right now so. : o
Ackalacka
Cal is unbelievably easy, his Pokemon's undiversified typing and terrible coverage are the death of him. Seriously, it's a walk in the park with him. He needs to be buffed... A lot.
Noir
Cal is unbelievably easy, his Pokemon's undiversified typing and terrible coverage are the death of him. Seriously, it's a walk in the park with him. He needs to be buffed... A lot. He's incredibly easy, but some of his Pokemon know Sunny Day + Solarbeam to deal with resists. Pure Waters won't appreciate Thunderbolt from Magmortar either, and all of his Pokes except Magmortar and Torkoal have high speed to boot. If he sets up Sunny Day and send in either Typhlosion or Magmortar something is going to get hurt. Fire moves+ sun hurts, and Swords Dance Infernape with Close Combat (although I killed it in one hit) is a threat. I won him my making it rain naturally on the volcano and sweeping with Sharpedo. I have Vulpix with drought, so I wont send her out. (I need a fire stone!) I have Swampert with mud bomb. <3 Spinda, with uprorar, dizzy punch, a dark move and a psychic move. Luxray electric, dark, e.t.c. And my Kirliar. (Need a dawn stone!) 36, 38,38, 39 and 42 are my levels, 42 is Vulpix. xD

It's hidden near a small island surrounded by lava as you go up/down some stairs. Heatmor appears occasionally there. You could also modify the weather to rain if you like. My weathers clear, which will be good for Zorua. When I get there. Yay I got the fire stone. I can't find Cal. I did follow a video but they skip stages that are "obvious" to everyone else but not to me....so....>.< I might have to leave and enter again and start all over... Energy-chan
I made it windy, they still absorb the sun!? So only rain will stop sunlight then?? Made it not sunny, he used sunny day. -___- He's tough enough as it is. Edited September 2, 2013 by Energy-chan
Energy-chan
Okay I beat him!I just rotated pokemon into the solar beam and kept 2 ko'ing them with mud bomb and I ko'd Infernape with muddy water.Luxray beat Charizard and Torkoal...which was...awesome. :
Magus
Cal was a pushover, I was expecting a tough battle, but I guess Victoria is just another fangirl.
Energy-chan
Cal I beat on my 3rd try. >.< Due to solar beam I had to get the right timing (easy) but sometimes mud bomb wouldn't hit or they'd crit me or something. But Victoria I find hard to beat. My Kirlia is level 36, I still can't get a Gallade which is starting to genuinely get on my nerves because it isn't bulky enough as a Kirlia. >.<
ShatteredSkys
Cal gave ma a bit of trouble, mainly since I was relying so much on my boldore's stealth rocks....which don't work. But in the end garbador pulled through by toxic stalling major threats and arbok managed to knock down half of his team after setting up with x items. Thankfully the moves hit on time, switching in and out for solar power and Luxray finished Charizard and Torkoal. I gotta get Zorua now and then train to beat Victoria. >.<
Administrators Ikaru Posted September 2, 2013 Administrators Share Posted September 2, 2013 Cal is unbelievably easy, his Pokemon's undiversified typing and terrible coverage are the death of him. Seriously, it's a walk in the park with him. He needs to be buffed... A lot. "Undiversified typing" as an Ex-Leader is expected, and he has great coverage- it's the AI that's the death of him, kind of like Noel is at the mercy of non-functional things like Magic Guard and Stored Power. As for the topic at hand, first of all, mind the multiple consecutive posts, please! Try to edit things together if nobody's posted after you; it's kind of an unwritten rule of most forums haha You'll find the Dawn Stone if you look hard enough in the Wasteland, but it's pretty well-hidden! of course i'm sure you'll be able to find it pretty easily somewhere on the forums... Unfortunately, before then, Kirlia in its unevolved state is probably not going to do anything for you. I might even suggest leaving it behind for now and replacing it with something better until you get that Dawn Stone. I'd suggest a Flying-type of some sort, the next best thing for dealing with Fighting. Crobat is a REALLY good one since it resists fighting attacks 4x and Acrobatics is really strong when it doesn't have an item. Watch out for those Rock moves though ;-; EDIT: also, I guess I've read over your introduction topic already but haven't said anything, so here's my welcome
DJ Mewdeon ft Dan Punk
Cal gave ma a bit of trouble, mainly since I was relying so much on my boldore's stealth rocks....which don't work. I noticed this when poking around in the code.. I'll add that to my list. But in the end garbador pulled through by toxic stalling major threats and arbok managed to knock down half of his team after setting up with x items. Toxic spikes still work proprely, thankfully. "Undiversified typing" as an Ex-Leader is expected, and he has great coverage- it's the AI that's the death of him, Are you saying that *I*someone should write some specific AI for this fight to make him more challenging? kind of like Noel is at the mercy of non-functional things like Magic Guard Good news! I fixed this the other day. and Stored Power. ..but was not aware that this wasn't working properly. I'll go fix it now. Edit: /frown I went and checked the code and it appears to be in working order. Time for some testing. Edit2: testing complete! Stored Power appears to work as intended -- more boosts = more power this did uncover a weird potential edge case issue though, so thanks for that. Administrators Ikaru Posted September 3, 2013 Administrators Share Posted September 3, 2013 I suppose specific AI for the leaders would be interesting but I'm not sure how necessary it is... And this is getting off-topic anyway- I'm pretty sure there's nothing left to talk about here
