The 6 warriors vs. The League

The Radiant Aeon

This my breakdown on my team and how I made it. It is generally not what I would make normally, in fact, some of my team are pokemon I don't use normally on competitive battling. However, with practice, I managed to some strengths and weaknesses of my team, glaring or not. If I do lose with this, it is mainly because either a weakness was exposed, or I made a bad judgement as I am not that great.

Here it is:

Anima Occupanti (Chandelure) (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Heat Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
What I consider the origin of this team,U out of curiosity, Chandelure can wreck stuff. Because of Reborn's Leaders have a strange fetish for triple battles, I took the liberty of switching a common move like Fire Blast for Heat Wave. Shadow Ball is there for STAB and Energy Ball is in case of this thing running into a water, ground, or rock type. Calm Mind Basically makes it a complete monster. I am not using Hp Fighting due to my team having a counter for them. It is also Chandelure's partner in crime.

Acier Inoxydable (Scizor) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bug Bite
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Roost
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Scizor. While not a set I use often, Bulky Scizor has practically saved my life on occasion. With Technician, Bug Bite reaches levels of godly power, getting a total of 180 base power with STAB. Bullet Punch kills anything that outspeeds it after a boost from swords dance. Roost heals any damage Scizor took during his killing spree. Combined with Chandelure's Flash Fire, and Scizor's Dark and Ghost resistance, and they turn out to be a great combination.

Inazuma (Jolteon) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [ice]
- Shadow Ball
While an unnecessary member, as Rotom-W would've made better synergy, I couldn't resist. Jolteon is my most used OU pokemon. Outside of the infernal Dugtrio, it usually breaks most pokemon with specs, outspeeds with scarf, and goes all out with life orb/ air balloon. I chose Thunderbolt over Discharge because of my lack of ground-types. Volt Switch makes it a scout. Hp ice is for coverage. Shadow Ball is only there due to it being stronger than signal beam. However, I needed a pokemon that covers ground weakness.

Verwusten (Gyarados) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
Named after the German word for ravage, Gyarados does what it name says. Often switching between Lum, Wacan, and Scarf, Verwusten is my premier Fast Sweeper. Dragon Dance is worthless when I switch to Scarf, but with anything else, it gives electric types nightmares. Speaking of which, Jolteon is this guy's best friend, as Jolteon loves electric moves while Gyarados can fly over earthquakes. Everything else is self explanatory.

Huangdi (Tyranitar) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 200 HP / 56 SAtk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Rock Slide
- Ice Beam
- Crunch
- Stealth Rock
The Emperor has arrived, and he is ready to defend his comrades in battle. Tyranitar is a special wall in the sand, and no slouch without it. Rock Slide hits opponents in triples or doubles. Ice Beam was an odd choice, as Fire Blast would've been better, but I don't feel like restarting league so.. it is staying. Crunch is for STAB and Rocks are always on these things. I chose to increase Sp. Attack as ice beam would do jack-squat. But even the Tyrannic Emperor needs a knight, a general. One that supports her warriors and does all the damage she can do. One who can complete Volt-Turn and leads frontlines in combat. The beacon of hope.

620mienshao.gif

Bellator de Lux (Mienshao) (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 220 Atk / 36 SAtk
Hasty Nature
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Drain Punch
- Hidden Power [ice]
Arise, warrior of light. It shall be you who leads the battle against the league. Mienshao is one heck of a woman. Fake out breaks sashes and impedes the progress of walls. U-turn assists Jolteon with Volt-Turn Combo. Drain Punch recovers lost health and breaks the Steel that walls my team. Hidden Power Ice is to cover the warrior of light's weakness to her airborne adversaries. While I should have gone for Hi-Jump Kick, I thought drain punch would serve me better. Stone Edge or Rock Slide(?) would also replace Hidden Power Ice to maximize my attack stat, but that will leave with no way to handle ground type walls such as Gliscor or Hippowdon.
Please leave suggestions. And if I don't do well later on, THEN I might swap out some moves or pokemon.

Okay so just a few things you could change, set up moves aren't as effective in regular league cuz #scarfeverything also i feel like Mien is sort of a i'm gunna hit you once then die not killing anything pokemon in league because it's defenses are super poor, but although this would make a perfect x-league team because more leaders tend to use singles and set up moves work fine

gunna rate this a 6/10

I mean no offense, but I mostly disagree with this assessment. (also, I'm not trying to argue here, just using the thing mentioned in this post as talking points)

If one is willing to take some extra time and look at the speed tiers for each leader type, a set up move like dragon dance can destroy your opponent, especially considering Moxie. In triple battles, when there is less time for setting up, a choice band can be used instead and the ability could be switched to intimidate if needed.

Set up Scizor is arguably less of an asset in League than in normal battles, but I can still see its merit. It is definitely more versatile than a banded or scarfed set, and still has the ability to run either of those items when it would be more beneficial. The thing I like about Scizor on this team is that it can still be useful in triple battles. Jolteon and Mienshao are both very fast Volt-Turners, and if they are threatened out, they can dent something and switch out to bulky banded Scizor to take a hit. Scizor can then fire off a bullet bunch next turn to kill off the weakened threat. Scarf could even be used if bug bite gets better coverage against the leader than bullet punch.

I think Mienshao can be very useful in League, although in this instance I do believe HJK would be much better than Drain Punch. It looks like the OP has already realized this, though. Fake Out on a fast pokemon is extremely useful in triple battles, and still very useful in singles on occasion. The combination of U-Turn and Regenerator is also nice for shifting momentum in singles and possibly snagging a kill while dodging a bullet in triples. As mentioned, HP Ice probably isn't the best choice for a coverage move, and given the build of your team I think Acrobatics, Stone Edge, or HP Electric would be better fits.

Most of my qualms with this team are already mentioned in the OP's descriptions. Other than that, a move like Earthquake or Thunder/Thunderbolt would probably have been better than rocks on Tyranitar. I'm also going to go ahead and agree that Calm Mind is pretty useless on Chandelure, as it is neither bulky nor exception speedy, just average. Its typing defensively also leaves it unable to take a ton of hits. I would say that Fire Blast is probably a better choice, as it fits better on scarf/specs sets, and can help when you need that extra power over Heat Wave, especially since it is weakened in triples.

Overall, I think it is a pretty well built team that both covers its weaknesses pretty well and also has the versatility to do what you need it do. In my humble opinion, versatility and adaptability are the most important things in League. Keep in mind that you are free to change your IVs, EVs, Items, and Abilities whenever you like, and don't be afraid to a little research. For example, you can run scarf Chandelure with just enough speed EVs to outspeed a certain speed tier. TTar can run band, specs, scarf, sash, whatever you need it to. Find out which Pokemon are most threatening that the leader can use, and find out ways to beat them. You might be able to run an unconventional item or EV spread and surprise them. You probably know these things already, but it is a strong point of your team so I wanted to mention it.

Anyways, sorry for the long post, but I hope I could provide some useful thoughts about the team.
