Ghostea
hewwo all!! I'm probably starting a new run soon and I really want to try Whimsicott for the first time, as I've used many other grass types in Reborn runs and want to try something new (plus I just really love Whimsicott tbh). I know it has Prankster, and would probably be super useful with Tailwind, but what other moves should I give it? what item, and nature? and of course, what would be some beneficial team members? thanks in advance
Gastronely
GoodGoodGoodGoodGoodGoodGoodGoodGoodGoodGoodGoodGood Someone is asking advice for a Whimsicott, GOOD! Whimsicott has been a MVP in my Reborn Playtroughs, and here's why. (Or I'm just biased, I also love the fluffy ball of love that is Whimsicott) Well. Tailwind is an invaluable support on any team, so yes, definitely use Tailwind. The spread i suggest on Whimsicott is this one: Whimsicott @ Amplified Rock Ability: Prankster Bold Nature Moves: - Tailwind - Sleep Powder - Moonblast - Helping Hand/Sunny Day/Leech Seed/Memento/almost everything, this thing has everything This is your standard defensive set, which usually goes well with strong Pokemon that sometimes need an extra hand, like Gardevoir, Gallade, Vikavolt, Azumarill, Diggersby, etc... You catch my point, speed control is just soooo good on Reborn. Setup sweepers goes extremely well with Whimsicott, since you can use Tailwind, then Memento, switch into your setup sweeper, and win. Works best if you have a Dragon Dance user, Haxorus and Flygon are amazing pairs with Flygon for that reason, they can just press Dragon Dance a couple times and win the battle. Amplified Rock is there just so Tailwind can last 5 turns. There's a fun little set I've been using in one of my playtroughs. It's not really recommend, but it can be really useful at times: Whimsicott @ Amplified Rock Ability: Prankster Timid/Modest Nature 252 Spe/ 252 Spa/ 4 Def Moves: - Moonblast - Energy Ball - Nature Power - Tailwind There are a lot of good grass types in Reborn. Serperior, Roserade, Gourgeist... Whimsicott may seem a bit useless with it's base 77 special attack, but, honestly, it can do some damage against super effective targets. The main selling point of this set is priority Nature Power, which basically turns Whimsicott in an effective revenge killer, against Adrienn is specially useful, since Nature Power turns into a Steel Type Sacred Sword. Again, Tailwind is for support, and the other moves are just STAB. You can use another grass type, sure, but this set provides some role compression thanks to Tailwind and Nature Power. As for teammates, Fire types are really good options, since they counter most of Fairy and Grass weaknesses. Alolan Marowak, Chandelure and Darmanitan benefits a lot from the Tailwind. As i said, setup sweepers are amazing, Flygon and Excadrill are awesome, since both learn setup moves by level up (Dragon Dance and Swords Dance, respectively). Fast paced, and offense team just go soo well with Whimsicott, and not just in singles, it also excels in doubles, thanks to it's wide array of support moves. You will most likely want Tailwind, Helping Hand and Sleep Powder on a doubles battle, to be exact. Helping Hand is for power, Tailwind is for speed, and Sleep Powder is for, well, sleep. Good luck in your playtrough! Edited June 14, 2020 by Gastronely

Whimsicott, again, works best on offense teams, and Reborn is based all around offense, sooo, why not? It can even work on online battles, too! thank you so much for the tips!! i'm actually very intrigued by the more offensive set... grass types are my favourite, and i've used plenty of them so far so even if Whimsicott doesn't hit the hardest, i'll still love her!! i'm sure it'll prove useful to my team. i just need to figure out the rest of my team members! i can absolutely try to build an offensive team, but would it be terrible for Whimsicott if i had at least 1 team member with more bulk than offense?
Gastronely
Just now, budew said: i can absolutely try to build an offensive team, but would it be terrible for Whimsicott if i had at least 1 team member with more bulk than offense? NO DON'T DO IT. Ok, ok, just kidding. If you really need a defensive mon, go for it. Just remember two things: One, that Whimsicott works best on offense, and Two, you can have more than one team in the game! You can have as many rotation mons in your game, so feel free to include any mons' you like : D
