ITnKU
My team at the end of EP 9: Excadrill Lv52-Jolly-Sand Force [4HP 252Atk 252Spe] Rock Slide Slash Swords Dance Earthquake Need something in place of Slash. Thinking of X-Scissor/Sandstorm. Vaporeon Lv54-Modest-Hydration [200Def and either 172HP 136SpA or 136HP 172SpA] Water Pulse Muddy Water Aurora Beam Acid Armour EV's were kinda random. I wanted a slightly bulky offense but was too lazy to make them "perfect". Waiting for Ice Beam and Surf. Not sure what to use for last 2 moves but thinking between Acid Armour/Roar/Toxic. Ambipom Lv61-Quiet(Spe- SpA+... bad I know)-Pickup [252HP 4Def 252Spe] Baton Pass Agility Nasty Plot Rock Smash Role is just to baton pass whatever is needed to others on my team. And mainly here for pickup. Togekiss Lv60-Modest-Serene Grace - Brightpowder [252HP 4Def 252SpA] Air Slash Wish Aura Sphere Yawn Waiting for T-Wave but not sure which move to take out-Aura Sphere or Yawn. I like Wish for team healing. I may need to stick Fly on him too just for convenience later on in the game. Gengar Lv60-Modest-Levitate - Zoom Lens (for Hypnosis) [4HP 252SpA 252Spe] Hypnosis Dream Eater Shadow Ball Dark Pulse Not sure what to choose between Focus Blast/T-Bolt/Giga Drain... and what to take out (Dream Eater/Dark Pulse?) Infernape Lv59-Adamant-Blaze - Focus Band [4HP 252Atk 252Spe] Flame Wheel Close Combat Slack Off Taunt Honestly don't know what to do when I get Flare Blitz cause I don't like the recoil but I need a better fire move (physical prefered).. I know Infernape is frail so Slack Off seems like a bad idea but this isn't for competitive play so it's actually quite useful in-game. Taunt has also saved me a few times against gym leaders. Any advice is helpful. Thanks.
Magus
I say keep your team the way it is. No need for sandstorm, because Exadrill isn't running sand rush.
Stiffins
Do you check Smogon competitive builds? http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/infernape Id take Flare Blitz, Close combat, mach punch and thunder punch on him. Recoil isn't so bad, he's a glass powerhouse and you can switch out + potion if needed. You can get Thunderwave on Togekiss by breeding it with a male minun/plusle who learns it leveling up. You can also teach it nasty plot via them too so you wouldn't need to baton pass with Ambi and could build ambi the way it should be - Technician + fake out + u turn. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4886 There's a great thread on how to breed useful support moves onto your vaporeon. Hydro pump > Muddy water too. 5% less acc for 25 more power. Annnd, Id recommend getting sludge bomb on your gengar which you can do by breeding it with a grimer/muk. ITnKU
Thanks for all the advice. I know about the Smogon sets but competitive sets are not always practical in-game (from my own personal experience). Flare blitz has nice power but taking 1/3 of the opposing Pokemon's HP isn't very practical since I'll have to rely on lots of healing after trainer/wild/gym battles (time consuming and excessive use of items). The breeding suggestions are good and were considered but I don't feel that it's worth all the effort when I probably wont play the game much after I finish it. Reason why I opted out of Hydro Pump is cause of the 5 pp (8 max... except I don't have any PP-ups or PP-maxes) so again not as practical in-game. Sludgebomb on Gengar is a nice STAB move but does it seem like I benefit more from the coverage of T-bolt or Giga Drain? (Giga Drain would also be more reliable recovery than Dream Eater). And yes I considered the Ambi set but I decided to use him mainly for Pickup. I will replace him with someone else later on.
Stiffins
True enough. I like doing maximum damage personally and having a pick up team gives pretty much endless hyper potions/full restores. Guess fire punch would be better than blitz in your case. One does not simply finish Reborn. Good point. I personally hate muddy water, i dont even really know why. Yeah Giga Drain would probably be better. You're lacking both a grass and electric type/move but drain would provide better coverage and heal but with hypnosis + dream eater you dont realy need it and can just cheese most things down provided hypnosis hits. On that note maybe T-bolt would be a better option over Dark pulse.
