LeoG
Is Serra just easy? Or did I just try too hard? Technically, she beat me the first two times, but I just reset after the losses because the first loss was more or less to see what level her pokemon were at and the other because I got frustrated when my Infernape's Flame Wheel and Close Combat missed three times in a row and I just wanted to start over before the loss. The first loss was because I was truly interested in the level of her pokemon. I was expecting hers to be level 47-50 but after facing her son (swept nearly his whole team with a level 44 Noctowl with an X-Special and Echoed Voice) to find out he had multiple level 50 pokemon (I think he had 2) which took me off guard...only 2 of my pokemon were over level 45 (Infernape and Flygon at 46). When I tried Serra first, I still had level 40 pokemon so I wasn't expecting to win. My problem is, it felt like the only thing I had to do was grind up levels to win. Granted, it was still close (I like close calls) and I ended with a near dead and confused Magnezone managed to land a Flash Cannon on her Glaceon and a near dead Scrafy finishing it off with a Hi Jump Kick (which I was expecting to miss and kill himself then her fast Glaceon finishing off my Magnezone). Ultimately, I used 2 Hyper Potions, a Max Revive and an X-Special on a team of level 46-47 team with a level 49 Infernape. I don't feel I won with strategy at all, either her pokemon one shot mine or I one-shot hers (my Aridados' only job in the match was one-shotting her Jynx with Sucker Punch who was quickly taken down by her Glaceon). With Aya, I felt somewhat strategic dancing around her types to stop from getting one-shot (had to learn what pokemon had what kind of attacks). For Serra, I felt I probably could have swept the match with a almost-level-50 Infernape with X-Speed to assure I hit her Jynx first. Beyond that, I feel dissatisfied. Kev
It just depends on what you have. I used thunderwave on the first two of her pokemons which allowed me setup two sweepers, Gyarados and Blaziken. If you get rid of the hail with sunny day or something its pretty straight forward. LeoG
I did start out with Infernape and Magmar, but didn't try to sweep (her son was proof enough!). Magmar used Sunny Day then swapped to Ariados just cause. I wanted it to be as memorable as Aya's battle but it left me unfulfilled
derekwst3
i wasnt expecting to be a double battle, so my lavaplume, didnt come in as handy as i wanted
Ousawa
Why are all the pokemons I see from you guys so under lvl'd? Dx
James
Serra was painfully easy...So was Aya, I hear alot of people saying that they had to go through hell trying to beat Aya, But when i fought her i pretty much swept with alakazam, using Blaziken to deal with her drapion..pretty straightforward if u ask me. Anyways, gj on beating Serra, well, sort of..
ShatteredSkys
Yeah Serra was a pretty easy gym for me too, after vulpix sent up the sun arcanine and spiritomb pretty much cleaned house.
Deleted User
Serra can be really difficult or really easy depending on whether or not you get rid of the Hail. Also, if you miss fire moves and your fire pokemon gets SOLed.

Then I spammed Flame Burst which hits all Pokemon (including your other one), but my other was Infernape who resists them.

After that it was an easy psychic sweep. I was even able to bring in my Gyarados and set up a couple DD's for dat extra overkill
Scenekidlove
I probably will have to restart simply because I don't want to grind up a certain pokemon to beat Gym X. Abit dissapointed that you NEED to have a Drought Ninetales or something of the sort. I have a flashfire Ninetales and plenty of resistances, yet I still can't take her down. garchomp550
the only thing that makes Serra a pain IMO is the hail hax. I could've curb stomped her with my blaziken but that hax though...
Red'sCharizard
Serra was pretty hard for me at first, so I just grinded Blaziken and Scrafty up to level 49, then I just kept hoping i'd hit... strangely, it worked. Usually, I have high jump kick missing without any evasion buffs.
Babylonian Queen
If you have a vulpix with the ability drought use it to cancel abomasnows hail ability as it activates froslass ability snow cloak, which raises its evansisess(your hit ratio won't be great) in a hail storm. If you don't have a vulpix with drought get a magmar and teach it sunny day. Hope this helped!!
Babylonian Queen
Also she has a walrien (water/ice)
Chrattac
I think I just went to grind magmar up to level it got sunny day and got rid of hail, then it was just a cake walk.
