measlesknuckles
ok so i know i posted something pretty similar way back in february, but i haven't been feeling up to restarting before now (for info: the furthest i've gotten is before the 4th gym) i'm mainly looking for starter help, but i'll also appreciate any other! i tend to overthink a lot of stuff so it's hard for me to see obvious solutions or anything, also a bit sensitive, just as a heads up in case. i've used fennekin and mudkip before, but i hate having any pokemon with more than 4 weaknesses (weird nitpick, i know). Global Mods Dreamy Posted July 11, 2020 Global Mods Share Posted July 11, 2020 Well hey, welcome back and hopefully things go well this time! If you're looking for a powerful starter, nothing else compares to Torchic. With Speed Boost and Bulk Up (combusken level 31), It can find opportunities to set up on many physical pokemon and decimate a large amount of the hard fights in the game on its own
Zargerth
Another strong starter of choice besides Torchic includes Protean Froakie. The fact that all your attacks are boosted in power (because of STAB) as well as having the ability to change your type on the fly makes Froakie a good choice for a starter. Iirc Espurr is obtainable early in the game. Male Meowstic with Prankster ability makes for a solid support mon. You can use Reflect and Light Screen with increased priority (more likely to go first). Generally don't be afraid to try and give some mons a chance: the way Reborn is designed makes it nigh impossible - without trading, that is - to simply pick and choose your favorites and play through the whole game with them. If you're repeatedly losing a battle, you can of course ask for advice, but I suggest taking the time to also think why is it that you're repeatedly losing. Is your team (too) weak, or is your strategy lacking? More often than not small tweaks to either one or both is enough to secure the victory.
