Redstone Gaming
I picked Litten as my starter because I figured that 1- it was an unique pick 2- Intimidate would help a lot, and so far it did. Well, until this battle that is. I'm doing a blind-ish playthrough so I had no idea there were actually 2 Corey paths, and as I couldn't find the dead officer because I thought it was a Growlithe encounter (I had found the other 4), I ended up with the regular fight. Now Corey is kicking my butt. My team is the following: (Garfield) Torracat Level 30, Hasty Nature. Intimidate. Fire Fang, Double Kick, Bite and Leer. (Pretty much carries me through some battles) (Berri) Cherubi Level 24 (will evolve in 1 level), Timid Nature. Chlorophyll. Leech Seed, Morning Sun, Sunny Day, Magical Leaf. (Leech Seed and Sunny Day support for doubles, completely dismantled the Taka + ZEL fight) (Cake O' Deth) Swirlix Level 25, Naive Nature. Unburden. Fairy Wind, Fake Tears, Endeavor, Round. (Endeavor completely cheeses PULSEs, and fake tears allows for some niche wallbreaking) (Quackers) Ducklett (egg) Level 22, Calm Nature. Big Pecks. Aerial Ace, Bubble Beam, Mirror Move, Defog. (Insert 'Useless! Useless! Useless!' here) (Smacc) Haryiama Level 26, Docile Nature. Guts. Force Palm, Fake Out, Knock Off, Belly Drum. (Haven't tried Belly Drum yet, but breaks whatever is weak to it pretty easily) (CHAMP) Pachirisu Level 5 (Cut slave, pickup, placeholder member. Screw HMs.) The team is EXTREMELY weak and doesn't have any synergy at all, but that's because I have no clue of what I'm doing. I don't know where to find actually good Pokémon and when I do, I don't know where to grind. My whole team faints before his SKUNTANK. I cannot beat Mareanie either. I can't even imagine how hard his damn Crobat would sweep my team. I'd love to remove the stupid corrosive terrain but apparently it only goes away if you use Seed Flare (lol Shaymin isn't even obtainable) or if you use a move like Mist (and even then its for 3-5 turns). Field effects feel very unfair, even if you know exactly what you're doing you can't even remove them properly or use them to your advantage since the Pokémon you're fighting usually resist the bonus damage. So yeah, please help.
Gastronely
If you're struggling with Skuntank, catch a Numel outside the Grandview Station with Rain/Thunderstorm (I don't remember which one it was, but you can use the weather change mod to adjust it). Numel learns Earth Power at level 26, which should be decently strong to deal with Skuntank (extra points if you get one with Growth, and Simple). Also... Crobat is a B*TCH. Just that. Pachirisu is AMAZING against it, thanks to it's good Special Defense, since it can take any hit from Crobat, retaliate with Nuzzle, and then try to wear it down, just so your next Pokemon may have a better time dealing with that winged demon. Btw, HMs, or TMXs in this game can be forgotten, just so you know, Pachirisu doesn't need to need a HM slave forever (since it's also decent against Shelly). TL;DR: Catch Numel and Level Up Pachirisu
soy source
Another tip; you may want to use some quality of life mods. There is a mod that allows you to use HMs without the Pokemon learning it; of course, you can only use it if you have the HM and the gym badge to activate it. Redstone Gaming
Ty for the help, but I need to know what is a good place to grind the team members to a suitable level. The wild pokemon keep knocking my weaker team members out and barely give enough exp.
Gastronely
Use the trainers in the Grand Hall to level up. They usually hang out on the northern side of the building
