nguyengiangoc
So according to the structures and the events inside Calcenon City, Labradorra City is supposed to be immediate to the left of Calcenon City and is symmetrical to it. However, within walking distances, to the left of Calcenon City is the Ametrine Mountain. There is no place on the map for a city between Calcenon City and Ametrine Mountain also. So where is it supposed to be? If it's to the north or north east of Calcenon, then it doesn't make sense for the barriers to be set along the north-south axis. Logan_the_balalaika
I think there is enough space on the map to squeeze a city in there. Labradorra City is indeed located west/northwest of Calcenon, at the foot of Ametrine Mountain. Here, have a look at the sketch: http://www.rebornevo.com/images/pr/rebornmap.png Also remember those red and purple pavements in Calcenon? Looking at reborn's logo it's safe to assume Labradorra is directly to the left and it's gonna have blue and green ones.

There are mountain sides and steep rock cliff on the other side of the barrier.
Global Mods Dreamy Posted May 31, 2021 Global Mods Share Posted May 31, 2021 I think things being locked to a square grid & a single camera angle with the game limitations kind of messes with how areas are intended to be laid out relative to eachother, but as shown in the sketch map linked above it's basically tucked on a plateau "behind" Ametrine mountain.

That would make more sense, but then if that's the case, then, as stated in the second point, the barrier wouldn't make sense to follow a north-south axis. Assuming the whole barrier is a spheric dome, the visible part in Calcenon should be slanted southwest-northeast.

Distances are never going to be logically portrayed on such a map, because scale will never be 1-1 to a full-size layout.

I think that mostly comes down to what I said about limitations of the grid/fixed camera - Diagonals on the grid layout tend to look jaggedy & gross and are awkward for the player to move through, so it's adjusted accordingly. Similar to how the traintracks going through peridot to the desert and the line through the grand hall and the grand gates are supposed to be on a ~45 degree angle to eachother, but are parallel ingame. Maybe think of it as the camera angle of the same subtly rotating / being different in different areas in the same, even if it appears to be the same - Down isn't always "south", it might be "southeast" or "southwest" in some areas . (plus there's just the issue of scale as mentioned)
