... I literally had to google that.

But Im afraid I have to say no. Mostly for the fact that it shouldn't exist, and that if it did exist, it would behave much like a normal sword due to the fact that "ether" does not exist in this RP's world, and I can't have people seeing the future because I write the future. There's a forge in town, I havent introduced the character yet but you could probably have her "make" a weapon for you that functions similarly. Alina's sword can project small amounts of her energy making her attacks more effective. I wouldn't have a problem with you making a sword that has abilities similar to the mondado's "arts".

And Im sorry if there's anything I missed, I literally just googled it and read the Wiki page. .-.

ah, so i can at least have my monado. i can't see the future, but i can still have an uber counter. btw, for one of my spells, i was thinking that i need to have my monado in order to preform it. if i get hit by something like knock off, i will most likely not be able to use it. either way, it has a moderatly long recharge time.

two questions. one, when merged with a pokemon, how will moves such as volt switch or u-turn work?

two, how will using spells work? will it require points like pokemon moves do or a recharge time? arts just need a recharge/cooldown time.

1. Uhh, IDK. Never thought of it. dont kill me

2. You have something like a magic gauge that restores over time, and basically you can spam magic until it runs out. Beware, running empty=pass out. Resting restores it faster than as if you werent doing anything.

*coughs* you will probably see Alina overdoing it MANY times in this RP :P\

If you were using the arts in this RP, it would most likely come from your own magic energy. Unless you can give me a *really* good reason why not.

monado arts charge up by me landing other attacks. once it finishes charging, i can use one. then i have to charge more energy to use another monado art. regular arts such as back slash just recharge over time. it's really a cooldown type of deal. i still have to wait a minute or two to reuse an art, but i can use a different art in the meantime. my monado arts are pretty much my exclusive attacks. arts don't take magic at all, especially ones that are physical attacks such as back slash. my magic is mostly used to aid allies and mess with enemies while my arts are my main form of unique attacks.

About volt switch and u-turn, maybe you can switch pokemon that you are megred with. For example, i can switch from a victini to a greninja without any delay or problems except entry hazards and pursuit. As for getting hit by something like dragon tail, maybe it can cancel the merge and split you and your pokemon apart.

I'd say that having moves that cause Pokemon to leave a battle having the effect of splitting Human and Pokemon apart sounds reasonable. U-Turn/Volt Switch changing your Form sounds a bit OP, though...

well, what else could volt switch do?

Actually, not really. It does take some time to shift forms, and youre quite vulnerable when youre switching. Since in the games it lets you attack and switch at the same time, I'd say it would be reasonable for you to be able to attack and skip the shifting lag.

I was thinking of having them also change you back to Human Form.

[EDIT]: NVM, Grass Ninja'd me.

@Eevee

  • Buster: powerful attack with a larger blade. Deals double the damage to Mechon and Machina.
  • Enchant: strengthens the weapons of the party. Allows normal weapons to damage Mechon.
  • Shield: generates a barrier that protects the party from enemy talent arts of the same level or lower.
  • Speed: gives the target a greater chance to dodge physical attacks.
  • Purge: ranged ether blast that inflicts Aura Seal and nullifies Spike effects.
  • Armour: reduces physical and ether damage taken. Percentage (30%-75%) depends on this Art's level.
  • Cyclone: damages all enemies around the user and inflicts topple on enemies suffering from break.
  • Eater: strips away enemy buffs and causes bleed damage in a frontal cone.

Crossed arts either already have a magic counterpart, is OP in terms of this RP, or just plain won't do anything in this world. No, you cant have em.

Highlighted arts must use the user's magic energy.

Anything else can be counted as a normal attack or a special ability of the sword.

I did say that the user must power the attack, not the weapon right? Special abilities that are either always in use (like feeding off the user's energy to keep up a field that protects and/or heals the user) or used by the user (like being able to split the sword into two daggers, turn it into a spear, recalled to your hand) I'll allow, but if it's something like being able to cast magic without limits and without draining the user, I won't allow. I'll allow speed, armor, and shield as long as it's the sword feeding off the user's energy to keep the boost up. Heck, I'll even allow sentient weapons like Fi in tLoZ, but the sentient spirit cannot control the weapon to attack or defend its user.

i made a seperate document with the monado arts i adjusted for the rp. it has some changes compared to xenoblade chronicles, i even have shulk's smash bros arts somehow implimented as well as my own monado art. if you want, i could send you the document with this info. it is also basically my updated registration form.

is doing chain attacks an option when fighting as a team? also, is using an offensive magic attack considered a special attack?
