Pokemon Aftermath #1: Assault on Eterna. (IC)

Odin rushed in, calling out her Mismagius, and yelled; "Inferno!"

"Mag!" Twilight levitated over to the middle of the room, before spinning at a shocking speed, summoning a huge twister of flames, enveloping acolytes and Pokemon alike. The twister expanded slowly, before it rushed back to Twilight, who let it out in a massive explosion. Acolytes flew into walls, and some Pokemon lay on the ground, their bodies charred.

"Simipour, go!" An acolyte screeched. It rocketed towards Twilight, who tensed up.

"Reflect!" Odin ordered. The Simipour smashed into a yellow box, before falling to the ground. "Ominous Wind!" Before the Simipour could recover, it was snatched up, and flew around the room, being whipped by black winds. The Ominous Wind increased the speed of the sandstorm, and the whole room erupted into even more chaos, with many acolytes falling to the ground, battered and bloody.

"Ominous Wind and Sandstorm.. what a wonderful combo." Odin thought to herself.

"Leafeon! Aerial ACE!" a voice wheezed over the harsh winds of sand and shadowy energy as a white and green bullet rocketed through a cloud of smoke. Her tail stood trade out, balancing her aim as she sliced through fur and flesh, and allowing crimson droplets to shower down to her caramel-colored pelt. Slowly, Color suddenly appeared from the chaos, goggles buried tightly around her eyelids and her thick bangs covering her eyes from view. A red bandanna bound tightly around her mouth, the occasional wave of sand making her cough violently just by how dry the air truly was.

"What the fuck man? Couldn't you guys supply damn oxygen tanks or something, I might get asthma or somethin'" her rough accent howled over the suffocating winds as blood suddenly splashed against her mask. She groaned, obviously angered by this whole situation.

"OI! Leafeon. Watch where you're splattering that stuff eh? I don't have enough money to replace this outfit!" Color wheezed as she hooked her arms around her shoulders, and pushed back hard against the wild winds.

I hope getting a new Pokemon is worth it after this whole mess!

"Leafeon! Aerial transformation. Ace into Crossing Scissors GO!" Leafeon complied, her body soaring past corpses and battered bags of flesh as the eveelution somesaulted mid-air, tucking her body into a tight ball, allowing her tail to extend out. Her tail began to buzz once more, thousands of chattering songs of insects began to fill the symphony of utter madness as the leaf-like tail began to glow lime green. With a quick flick of her body, Leafeon gracefully spun through the air, slicing through the wall of sand in a X-formation. Color dived through, relieved of locating at least one spot near the stairs where she could actually breath without suffocating.

"Praise Mew!" the ebony-haired trainer cried out, tearing the bandanna from her lips and pulling the goggles away from her eyes. Her always-hidden eyes flickered with fury, the pupils burning behind her eyelids as one unlucky acolyte reached out towards her and looked deep within her smoke-colored irises.

"Help.....me,,," he begged, reached his scorched hand out towards the angered female. Color nose curled in disgust, the weakness making the core of her stomach turn with distate. He was disgusting, pathetic, worthless! He was nothing more than an ant cowering towards her boot. Color irises flashed briefly in anger, as a crooked and dastardly grin tugged at the corner of her lips. Her Leafeon growled deeply within the recesses of her throat, her tail still glowing from the previous command.

"Eat shit!" she cooed sweetly, as Leafeon dived towards the unfortunate follower and disappeared into the raging storm. A hideous, liquidy screech rang loudly in Color's ears before a line of blood splashed over the bridge of her nose, a line traveling down between the crevice of her chest. She stuck her tongue out, taking a swipe at the iron-filled liquid as she watched her deadly pet return to her.

"Come Leafeon, let's see if we can clean up, upstairs." the acrobatic spoke happily, turning her back to the raging storm while her boots clomped loudly up the steps to the next floor. Her bangs fell back into place, shielding her eyes from the world once more.

Jory looked up and smiled as Aruma showed up at the stairs. "Finally made it over here, huh?" He looked out at the room and saw the silhouette of Odin and her Mismagius. "I can see Odin from here. Color should be joining us shortly," Jory replied. "We need a plan for the second floor. It's gonna be a lot tougher than this one." Jory leaned against the wall and caught his breath while Shredder did the same next to him. "The acolytes on this floor were pitifully weak. I don't think that's a trend that will resume throughout the building, so we need to be careful."

  • 2 weeks later...

2 Hours later.

Things have been going smoothly, so far. Each of the Dusks managed to defeat the following Church members after that, if barely. (That one battle between Houndoom and Slowking kept Aeon reeling for the chair.) Josh looks like he utterly despises the chains, though I can't blame him. Though they were the largest the Eterna Police had, the handcuffs were still a tad bit small for Josh. After 2 more floors and 63 battles (the three split each battles), they were nearing the end.

"Scizor. use Superpower." With a heavy blow to the head (or one of its heads), the Church member's Dugtrio was KO'd. "Now," Ryuu began. "Where is the key?"

"I have it with me." The defeated Church member gave the key to Ryuu. "I hope the Seer knows what she is doing." Ryuu was stunned by those words.

"The Seer?!" Many thoughts rushed in his head. ("If it is THE Seer, then Josh won't stand a chance. Her power is impeccable. And knowing the Seer...Oh no.")

Ryuu grit his teeth. "We may have fallen into a trap guys." The others were confused by those words. "I know this Seer. She was once an Elite 4 Member of the Unova Region, but she chose to study with the Church rather than to continue her title. The Seer is a master of the Ghost types as well, and her ace is...not so keen on Grass types. Adding the fact that she is a master tactician, she must have known about us even before us entering."

Suddenly, a Crowd of Church of Dawn members gathered around us.

"Ay, Pearl? You feel that, too?"

Pearl yelped in confirmation. What did we feel? Passion, the fire that allowed us to fight at our best. Pearl's sphere began to glow, showing that she was ready to take on anyone who stepped forward.

"Who's first?"

A young girl stepped forward, seemed to be the youngest of the group.

"I won't lose!" She threw her pokeball in the air and a white gleam shown from the capsule. "Vileplume. go!" The flowery petals shined as it let out it's cry. "Stun Spore!"

I was confused. What was she doing?

"You know you shouldn't do that..."

Pearl's pelt began to glow and the powder began to solidify. Suddenly, it darted back at the Vileplume, crippling it on contact. "WHAT?!"

"Ever fought against Magic Bounce? You've got a lot to learn, little girl..."

She began to get angry, "You're WEAK! We'll destroy YOU! Vileplume, use Solarbeam!" The Vileplume began to charge it's attack. The air around the flower petals began to glisten and a white orb appeared within the the stigma. "NOW!" The vileplume pushed forward to fire the attack, but it fell to the ground." "NO WAY!" The Vileplume lay in agony.

"Your Vileplume is paralyzed. May we put it out of it's misery?" I looked down at Pearl. "Psyshock." Purple particles appeared around Pearl, then quickly struck the Vileplume. One hit was enough to make it faint; However, multiple Psyshocks began to strike the Vileplume.

"Pearl, what the hell are you doing? The thing is done." Pearl wasn't listening, however. She wanted the kill and nothing was going to stop her.

"Please, stop." The young girl cried out. "You've won, just stop..."

But I was no longer in control. The Vileplume would die, it was inevitable.

"PLEASE! Why won't you guys help me?!"

The crowd of Church Members just sat there, they didn't want to interfere. I couldn't help but feel sorry for them. I could feel the fear emanating from them. None of them wanted their pokemon to experience the same fate.

"Spare us, please..." She was now crying, begging for this nightmare to end. I couldn't allow someone to feel the same hurt I had felt.

"Pearl, return." Whether she wanted to or not, I pulled her back into her ball. The damage she had done was enough.

"Now, you children better run along..."

But even with a direct hit the Gliscor still had enough energy to catch the next wind and glide back to the top of the building Rin saw as Bereft was fighting the Church Member.

With the Vileplume defeat (to say the least) another Church Member thought this was a good time to attack Bereft head-on.

"Cacturne, give this man your Needle Arm!"

"Furcht, Twinneedle the Cacturne!"

The Cacturne took the Twinneedle and fell to the floor, only to get up a second later with a painful look on its face.

"Oh do you wish to interfere young lady, I'll give you a chance to repent and return to the side of which vast in the light of Dawn? We might let your friends go if you do, but if you refuse then we will have no choice but to defeat you all."

"If I would've taken your side would I be fighting you all right now? Don't ask such stupid questions shithead. Furcht Pin Missile the Cacturne now!"

"Cacturne dodge it!"

With that Cacturne was able to evade two of the five Pin Missiles thrown at it, but even just taking 3 Pin Missiles worn it down a considerable amount, considering two of the three that hit were critical hits.

"Cacturne attack with Drain Punch!"

With the hit Cacturne got some health back, but not enough to live another attack.

"Now Furcht, Fell Stinger to finish it!"

And with a smirk on her face the Church Member yelled, "Cacturne, Destiny Bond."

Rin knew that it was too late to call off the attack, so instead she shouted,

"Shit! Furcht aim it somewhere else!"

And with that Furcht aimed its Fell Stinger towards the other Church Members, taking down one small member, for good. And at the sight of the collapse and blood rushing out of the lifeless body the Church Member battling fell to her knees, yelling at Rin with tears in her eyes.

"YOU FUCKING BITCH, SHE WAS MY LITTLE SISTER! HOW CAN YOU BE SO HEARTLESS?!"

"It wasn't my fault, YOU caused me to make Furcht point her attack somewhere else, but thanks to that Furcht Attack rose, so good for us. But don't worry, if you're so miserable without your sister I can arrange a meeting for you two, or maybe not considering on where you're going."

"W-What are you talking about?"

"First Furcht, Fell Stinger the Cacturne, next the girl."

"W-wait, y-you can't be serious, right?"

Then the Cacturne went down to a Fell Stinger, raising Drapion's attack even more.

"How would you like it, a Toxic or a Fell Stinger?"

"N-n-no... y-you can't..." Looking around the other Church Members were in a state of fear, unwilling to help the girl in what could be her last breathing moments.

"No reply, my choice then. Furcht, Fell Stinger n-!"

"That's quite enough young lady, no you don't deserve such a title, perhaps something more in the lines of... barbaric juvenile."

Coming out of the building a older looking woman with the Gliscor from before (identifying it was no problem since it still had a bit of ice on its body from the Icy Wind) following her walked towards Squad 3 with the other Church Members moving aside making a path from her to us.

"Do you believe I'd allow such brutal actions continue any further?"

"Are you the Conclave mother?"

"Why yes I am, and it's manners to introduce yourself first. Well it is no concern of mine since I'll just teach you some along side with those men with you. So, who would like the first defeat, since of course you all can not defeat the mighty forces of my pokemon."

" I have heard about this Seer." Said Lupus. "My mother talked about her a lot being a lover of ghost types." "Aeon, I don't think Josh's Venusaur will stand much of a chance against her, not to underestimate Bruiser or anything, but I have that feeling." Said Lupus with a hint of doubt in his voice, "Maybe it is best if me and Lobo try and do this, we are the only ones who have a slight advantage against Ghosts I fear." "However, we can't rush in blind no matter what we do, tell everything you know about her Aeon, then we will decide what to once everybody is on the same page." Lobo's ball flashed from it's normal blue color to a white. "Lobo is ready to go at least. He ball glows white hot when he is in the mood for battle."

Kael and Kaine caught up to the rest of squad 2 just in time to hear what Lupus was saying about the Seer. "Lobo would probably have the best chance at beating her, given her type choice. I'd advocate for Kaine's power, but she got a nasty burn from that cultist with the magmortar back there." Kael murmured as Kaine lifted her burnt foreleg and tried licking it to make it better. Kael knelt down and unzipped a pocket on his guitar case before reaching in and pulling out a rawst berry. "Here, try this." he spoke as he brought the berry to Kaine's lips. The luxray lapped up the berry with her tongue and swallowed before curling up at her master's feet and closing her eyes lightly, breathing slowly as the berry began to gradually take effect. "It might take awhile for the rawst to kick in; you guys go on up ahead, I'll watch out for any backup cultists." Kael mumbled, sitting down to stroke his companion while casting glances at the hall and staircase where they had come from.

Taking a breather and calming down the rampage of her Tyranitar (at least for the time being), Aruma reached the stairs to the second floor, where Jory was waiting for her.

Well, Color already went ahead, didn't she? There is just one access to the next floor, and that is the door at the top of these very stairs: so yeah, we either steal the uniforms of some of the Acolytes we took out (which would be fine for me since I am a female, but I dunno about you), or we just charge through... So, what will it be?

Sarcus peered both ways down the street before stepping out of an alleyway. He had seen a few Church of Dawn acolytes wandering about earlier, and while they probably wouldn't know who he was, he was deeply suspicious of the organization and avoided contact with them whenever possible. As he looked around, he quickly checked himself. A simple great ball hung at his belt, securely clipped there. He patted it reassuringly, more for his own benefit than his partner's. He was only in town because he was meeting up with a correspondent, and he didn't feel like having this particular conversation recorded and analyzed by Dawn's regime. He had heard rumors of a new Team, Team Dusk, one that, for once, was interested in doing some good - not that Dawn saw it that way. Otherwise, he tended to stay out of larger cities. He folded his arms in a seemingly innocuous gesture as he leaned against a building, checking the knives sheathed under each arm. He deplored killing, but after the Church showed up to "reeducate" his family, he wasn't taking chances. He checked the note he had written for himself, with his correspondent's address written on it.

Before he could continue on toward his destination, however, he heard quite a bit of noise coming from the nearby Church conclave. Curiosity defeating caution, he started to approach the imposing building, sticking to the walls of the nearby structures. He stopped momentarily to release his partner. "Abs... ol," his Absolution said as it stretched, unused to confinement.

"Shh," he hushed the Absol. "Don't draw any attention to us." The Pokemon gave him a slight glare. "I'm just being careful, no need to be like that." The Pokemon rolled its eyes. Ignoring it, Sarcus crept forward toward the building, taking his time. Absolution continued to stretch out his legs behind him. He eventually made it up to the conclave's doors. He glanced back at Absolution, and seeing that the pokemon was calm, he straightened up and nudged the door open, wondering why there was no one there.

The answer to that particular question was fairly obvious. The interior of the building was a complete disaster area, as if a tornado had swept through it. What happened here? he thought. He stepped inside, alert for any dangers that might appear. He noticed a few things. One, none of the acolytes noticed that an unknown individual had just stepped into their conclave. Two, there was sand everywhere, along with furniture in all sorts of improbable positions. Third, several of the acolytes weren't moving, and the rest didn't seem much better off. He noticed one acolyte sitting up with a cloth tied around her eyes. He was fairly sure he knew why, so he mustered up some courage, and strode up to her. He asked in what he hoped was a commanding voice, "What happened here?"

The acolyte coughed, then, in a voice raspy from the dry air, answered, "Tyranitar. A group of people attacked us out of nowhere. Probably those Team Dusk bastards. . ." she trailed off as she lapsed into a coughing fit. He quickly turned around and headed out of the building eagerly, Absolution following him. He noted with disgust the several acolytes with bloody gashes across their chests. As he walked out, he nearly stepped on what appeared to be a severed hand clutching a Pokeball. He shivered, then exited the building. He ducked into a nearby alleyway, then slumped against the wall. Team Dusk did that? I know what the Church of Dawn says about them, but I hadn't realized that there was truth to it. He straightened and stared at his Great Ball, now in his hand. Can I really side with these people? People willing to murder teenagers? He sighed, and clipped the Great Ball back onto his belt. Sarcus sat down, and continued to think, oblivious of the world around him. Absolution settled down next to him, and he unconsciously began to stroke his partner's pristine white fur. I have to. It's the only way to bring down this travesty of a government. But will I be able to live with myself...?

He had a lot of thinking to do.

I stepped up while speaking to the Conclave mother, " I was the one attacked your Gliscor."

"Who might you be, boy?" she questioned me in a tone the signifies superiority

"I am Daniel Lemmel, lady."

The expression on her face became a puzzled one "Wha-how did you survive, I thought The Goddess destroyed your family!?"

"How? Simple. My grandmother's Gardevior sacrificed itself to save me and my partner from Arceus's Judgement's blast. Why don't we get to the

battle now?"

"Sure." "Scor"

"Lenna, Come on out to get Team Dusk a victory" She then came out.

"Allons-y win, Daniel" my partner spoke to me and me alone via telepathy

(There will be separate posts, so Squad 3 don't battle the Conclave mother until I say you can.)

While Sarcus and his Absol are investigating the southwestern conclave, a yellow and white spiky Pokemon followed behind to observe the view. He stopped at the edge of the door, looked around for any followers of Dawn, and proceeds to peer into the building. His right ear twitches in excitement upon seeing the destruction: The sand, the blood, the fallen acolytes and Pokemon... THIS must be what his trainer was talking about! It just HAS to be the Dusk members! As quickly as his feet could carry him, the Jolteon runs back to their hidden cave on Route 206 to carry this great piece of news. Who cares if he couldn't find any food for the day, this was their time to strike down the Church!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A young girl with black hair and dark-brown eyes listens patiently as her over-excited Jolteon tries to tell her about the raid in Eterna City, however, Miki Shizayuma couldn't make heads or tails of his account. "Is he trying to say that he some food stash in an abandoned building or, even better, potions?," she thought. As the Jolteon continued to his story, electric sparks begin to fly from his fur. "No... he wouldn't be this ecstatic over pieces of food. Something is up." The young trainer raises a hand to stop her Jolteon from continuing. The male Jolteon fidgeted impatiently as the 18 year-old took off her glasses, puts down her book, and sits in a more comfortable position.

"Raito, is something happening in Eterna?", Miki asks her companion.

Upon hearing his name, Raito the Jolteon once again proceeds to tell his trainer about the raid. And, once again, he is unsuccessful. The young girl raises an eyebrow. Despite all of her years living together with Raito, she still has yet to understand her Jolteon completely. Yes, Miki can tell he is excited; yes, it must be something better than food and water; yes, it has to be something important in Eterna, but what can it be? It frustrates her that even with the education she once had, she still has not been able to comprehend her Pokemon fully. What piece of information is she missing?

After finishing his story, Raito looks at her expectedly, his black eyes brimming with anticipation. Miki sighs and shakes her head, unable to comprehend his words. Raito's ears drooped a bit like that of a sad Growlithe's. He looks around their cave, their home for the last three years, looking for something that will jog her memory. Raito then notices her gray, trainer bag and yelps in excitement.

"Jolt, jolt!", Raito jumps around her trainer bag and points to a small pocket with his nose. He looks at her direction.

His trainer looks surprised at first, then scrambles to her feet to open the pocket. The spiky Pokemon knows that she figured it out. His knew his trainer is not dumb, just a little out of it since she was absorbed in a book.

Miki walks to her small bed in the back of the cave with a letter in tow, re-reading its contents as if to make sure that this was not a dream. Her little bed consists of a simple mattress with a beaten up blanket and pillow that is perfect for her and her Pokemon to sleep together. Raito follows her and jumps up onto this bed, awaiting a decision.

The letter is simple and Miki already read it a thousand times, but she still could not believe it. She now remembered that day, two weeks ago, when Raito appeared with the letter in his mouth. It was sealed with the Moon insignia to signify its organization - Dusk. Underneath the fancy type it stated, "To the trainer of this Jolteon." She had opened it very carefully, as if she was afraid that there was a bomb or something, only to find one paragraph. It specified their mission - "To take down the Church..." - the location and time - "Eterna City, two weeks from today" - and how the organization would be "honored to have another comrade." Miki had forgotten all about it, believing Dusk to be another wannabe team trying to take on Goddess Dawn's massive regime. But now, with Raito's eyewitness account, and at this time too... "It's all too accurate for it to be a hoax."

Miki folds the letter and places it beside her. She looks around at her cave; it was cozy, although somewhat small compared to her house back at Sunyshore. Then again, as her dad once told her, this hideout was supposed to be a temporary home. On the left side of the cave is a larger bed that is made up with clean sheets, although they are now yellowed from the passage of time. "Mom... Dad..." On her right is an almost empty bookcase. It is there that Miki found solace while she was waiting for her parents to show up three years ago. There were only a few books: Myths and legends, Pokemon theories, Survival in the wilderness; the rest of the bookcase was filled with food enough for 6 mouths for a month or so. Next to this bookcase is a hidden, little safe in the wall filled with potions, pokeballs, berries (and even a Pokenav!), anything that a trainer will need. Here they sit, waiting for the day the proper badge system will return. The stories her mom once told of the great Red from Kanto and Gold from Jhoto... Miki wanted to be like them. But it was all shattered no thanks to Dawn.

Dawn, who destroyed the balanced system of trainerhood.

Dawn, who destroyed those precious Pokemon in her pursuit of power.

Dawn, who destroyed those who oppose her.

Dawn, who took her life, her parents, her dream... And destroyed them.

A few tears of sadness slipped down her cheeks as she recalled those memories. Raito whined and nuzzled her, offering his warmth. Miki gladly accepted, hugging him while her arms avoid his white, spiky collar. Raito allowed a few minutes of sobbing before nuzzling her again. Without any response from his trainer, he let out a small cry of worry.

Realizing her position, she unwraps her herself from her Jolteon while wiping away her tears. She scratched behind his left ear, the only ear that Raito has a notch in, unlike most of his kind. The Jolteon sighs contently from the scratch and from seeing his trainer more composed. Raito was right, this is the time to come out of hiding. This is the sign she and Raito were waiting for in those three, painful, lonely years. It is time for both of them to leave this safe place and join in the rebellion and fight.

"Raito, get my bag please," she told her Jolteon as she got up and walks towards the hidden safe. "You are right, it's time to fight."

EDIT: First time doing an RP, so I would really appreciate any constructive criticism!

Jory nodded as Aruma gave her account of what had happened. "Well, we can't spend all day waiting here. We're going to need to advance to the next floor of this place. Shredder, you good to go another round?" The Zangoose nodded and closed his eyes briefly before opening them again, his mouth turned upward into a smirk.

"Zan-goose!~" He swung his claw and put a gash in the wall, then looked back to Jory.

"I'll take that as a 'yes.' Aruma, I'll meet you at the next set of stairs," Jory told her before looking at Shredder. "Now let's go!" he said to Shredder and the two ran off up the stairs.

When they got to the next floor, Jory saw Color trying to make her way through. "Shredder, Quick Attack into Crush Claw! Kill those bastards!" Shredder nodded and dashed off, leaving a white trail behind him. When he reached Color, he leaped into the air at an acolyte. The girl screamed as Shredder's claws began to crackle with a blue-white energy. When the Zangoose hit the ground, two long red gashes opened up in the acolyte's chest and her mouth filled with blood. An Altaria came flying at Shredder and used Flamethrower, scorching Shredder's coat. He roared defiantly at the Altaria and propelled himself into the air with a Quick Attack, allowing him to land on its back. Shredder dug his claws into its back as it began flying evasively, trying desperately to shake him off. "Shredder, use Crush Claw!" Jory shouted. The Zangoose's claws glowed again and tore through the Altaria's skin, causing Shredder to land on the ground and the Altaria to go crashing to the earth. It feebly crawled over to the acolyte Shredder had just taken out and wrapped the trainer in its wings. Then, it shuddered and its eyes rolled back into its head as it slumped to the floor.

An acolyte screeched and ran up behind me, wrapping her arms around my neck in a sleeper hold. I repositioned myself so my head was under her arm, then elbowed her in the side and stepped around to sling her to the ground. I got on top of her and grabbed the hood of her robe, wrapping it around her neck tightly and squeezing until she stopped moving. I looked over at Shredder. His claws and arms up to his elbows were coated in blood. He had bruising and scrapes all over his abdomen and legs. That was nothing compared to the Miltank laying next to him with its torso slashed all the way open and its innards spilling out. I sat up and removed a Hyper Potion from my bag, beginning to spray Shredder with it. I finished up with the potion, then we dispatched two more acolytes and their Bellossoms before making it to the next set of stairs.

Sarcus stood, realizing where he was. This probably isn't the best place to loiter around. He checked the street before walking out of the alley, folding his arms out of habit. Still lost in thought, he started to walk aimlessly into the city. He had gotten here early, so his meeting with his correspondent was still a few hours away. He hardly noticed the people being arrested and brought into one of the other conclaves. People being taken away by the Church was a distressingly common sight in most cities, and the wise man kept his head down when it happened. Sarcus tried not to think about them too much, simply filing them away into the back of his mind. It was just another crime atop the thousands that the Church of Dawn had committed.

He ended up at Eterna's famous statue after some walking. He looked up at it, wondering how it was still here. It had seen better days, but it appeared someone was still taking care of it. I would think that the Church of Dawn wouldn't appreciate a statue of someone else's deity. Then again, why would they worry about it? Dawn is secure in her power. Continuing that train of thought, he realized that while the Church hadn't bothered to tear the statue down, it made for an awfully convenient excuse to "reeducate" someone caught observing it for too long. He started away from the statue, glancing back at it once more before descending the stairs. What he saw after he turned around shocked him.

There was a crowd gathered in front of the nearby conclave. A vicious-looking Drapion and many other Pokemon were standing there, along with a veritable crowd of acolytes, and four people who most surely were not acolytes. Three of them seemed to be facing off against the Church, and the fourth. . . Is that really the Mother? What in Arc- Mew's name is she doing out here? He also noted the bloody corpses of Church members on the ground, their bodies pierced with sharp barbs. More killing. What's happened to this world? He quickly ducked into a nearby alley and sent out his partner. "Watch my back." The Absol nodded, but was definitely on edge. He crouched down to watch what was about to ensue between the Church and the people who must be Team Dusk members. I don't agree with their methods, but if their goal was to pull out the Mother, they got what they wanted. As evil as these people seem to be, the Church is more so, and very powerful. I hope they know what they just brought down atop their heads. . .

It has been one week since Miki entered into Eterna City. She sighed despondently as she saw people hurrying along their way, afraid to make eye contact with anyone. The young girl could not blame them, after all, who wants to be innocently accused of seeing something they shouldn't be? For all they know, an arrogant acolyte could just handcuff them just because they looked at her funny.

Miki clutched her bag strap tightly as she walked. She wished that her Jolteon is by her side right now, but she knows that would only risk being caught by a stray acolyte or two. So, to calm her nerves, the young trainer decided to piece together what she has seen so far. From what her Jolteon was trying to tell her earlier, most of the evidence about the conclaves being attacked is true. Miki had already peeked into the closest conclave from her cave and, indeed, there was, and probably still is, bloodshed. She is slightly repulsed by the death, wondering if they deserve it.

"Perhaps the Dusk members were forced to kill them", Miki thought to herself. "After all, under her Majesty, it is a kill-or-be-killed world. But still... Those church members... Most of them are my peers... How can they be so stupid to follow such a cruel regime? What if they were they manipulated? Perhaps I can persuade them to change their minds if I ever have a chance to fight. Then I won't have to kill and Dusk will gain another ally... A win-win situation. But of course", she smiled sadly, "Nothing can always go your way."

Unconsciously, Miki's grip on her bag loosened as she thought about those "what ifs." If anybody were to look at her, it seems like she is just lost in thought and looked as if she was a normal young lady. As she took a turn towards the statue, however, Miki saw what appears to be a crowd. She felt her heart skip a beat; something must is here! She immediately ran into the crowd without any sense of danger. And there, she saw the most beautiful sight that she has seen in 3 years. Pokémon battling! For a few minutes, she forgot that this is battleground for supremacy in Eterna, Miki could not take her eyes off of the Pokémon dodging and delivering attacks, their respective trainers giving commands, the desire to win... Her heart raced as if she was in the battle herself. It was fascinating to be hold. "This feeling... Red must have felt like this in a gym battle..."

Out of the corner of her eye though, she spotted a glare for just a brief moment. Returning back to reality, Miki turned her attention to... an alleyway? At least that is where she thinks she saw the glare. "Is someone hiding there? A spy... an acolyte... a Pokemon... a Dusk member?" Whatever, or whomever, it may be, Miki felt that she had to go and see. "Where is the harm if I have Raito and I can run like the wind? Plus, most if not all, of the acolytes seemed preoccupied by the siege going on right now." So, Miki sneaked out of the crowd and, after making sure no acolytes are watching, made a quick dash towards the alleyway only to crash into something, or someone.

"Owww..." She shook her head to shake off the shock from the fall. She blinked and found an Absol staring straight at her and a young guy also trying to comprehend what just happened. "Oh! S-sorry about that! I-I didn't realize I would b-bump into a-anyone here!"

Sarcus, absorbed in watching the battle, nearly jumped out of his skin when a girl nearly his own age came crashing (quite literally) into him. "What the fu- Who the h- What do you want?" he stammered out in shock, instantly on edge. She just happened to bump into him as he was watching Church acolytes battle against Team Dusk? Then again, Absolution, while not looking happy at all to see her (she may have messed up his finely groomed mane with the collision), didn't seem anxious about meeting her. She couldn't be TOO dangerous, otherwise his Absol likely would have struck immediately. She doesn't look like the type to associate with the Church, though. Perhaps she's here for the same reason I am. . .

((Typically I would write more, but this RP operates differently than the ones I have experience with.))

"You really think thats a good idea?" Josh said to the others well taking off the cuffs thanks to the key that Aeon gave him "If its a trap then wouldn't it be a better idea to have the one who is at full strength spring it. Given that would be the one who is most likely to get out of it easier." Josh said rubbing his wrists because of the rubbing of the cuffs. "Besides if it was truly the Seer then i am quite sure that this would of been much harder then what it was." He said as he pulled out a piece of candy from one of his many bags of it and put it in his mouth(little did the rest of the squad know that the candy had extract of chestro berry in it) "think about it given that the Seer is relatively high up in the whole hierarchy of the church and a valuable resource to it as well. It would be unlikely that she would be in such a place. Anyway even if its not the real on then most likely the real one is given this on assistance or using this one to collect data on Team Dusk which could be troublesome later if that data can get back to the leaders of the church. So sorry for what i am about to do its purely out of concern that i do it." Josh says has he spikes a bag onto the floor of the room.

Once the bag hits it explodes into a light green powder that spreed throughout the room. As the other three of squad 2 fall down asleep Josh bit down on his candy releasing the chestro berry extract keeping him awake. Josh just looked over the room making sure to lock the door that they came through so that no one would stumble across the sleeping members of squad two as well as making them swallow a less concentrated version of the candy he had earlier so that they would wake up in about 15 minutes(enough time for Josh to get into a battle with the "Seer") he leaves heading to the top floor to face "The Seer" leaving behind a quickly written note for when the rest of the squad wakes up.

Sorry for putting y'all a sleep but trust me its all part of a amazing plan i had. see because this is most likely not the real Seer but there most likely is something around the enclave that is connected to here and it probably has information that Team Dusk may find interesting as well as information on Team Dusk. So what you guys need to do is find that not only will it keep us safe for a longer amount of time but it might help use out next time we need to do something like this as well. Oh your probably wondering why i had to put you to sleep simple y'all had 21 battles each getting here and you needed to regain your strength and well i needed to see if my concentrated sleep powder mixed with spore actually worked also because this way if there's like some camera watching us or microphone listening they would think i am a traitor which i totally am not. And if your wondering why i am like 90% sure thats this is not the real Seer thats because if it was she would know who i am and what i have done dealing with the church before and would have not let me get this far at full strength.

p.s. please don't be to mad

Once Josh got to the top and opened the door to where the mother was at. Looking at her the first thing that Josh though was "see totally right" because the person in front of him was definitely not The Seer for she was way to young to be. "So you must be "The Seer"." josh said with air quotes at the seer part. "Well then you probably know why i am here so lets forget the fun little introduction at get down to business."Josh said well releasing Bruiser out of his plain old Poke Ball. The girl said "A fool like you won't said a ghost of a chance" as she called out her first pokemon. In a flash of red out came a coffin with ghostly arms sticking out of it. "Well then girly lets me show just how dangerous a fool can be. Bruiser let kick things off with Worry Seed." Josh said as evil grin slowly creeped onto his face woth only on thought on is mind "This is going to be fun".

"Shhhh!!! N-not so loud! O-or else they would hear!" Miki managed to stammer. She quickly got off of the guy and dusted off any gravel and other unwanted substances off her clothes. Considering that she is wearing a white t-shirt really does not help matters. Luckily, her long, black cardigan was covering it to avoid any potential disgrace in her appearance. After finding her bag lying next to her, Miki then gave her full attention to the guy and his Absol. She quickly took mental notes about him (mainly his blonde hair and gray eyes) and his Pokémon before proceeding to explain herself.

"I-I don't mean any h-harm. I-I just saw a... glare a-and I got curious. S-so I just ran here hoping they didn't see me." Miki gestured in the crowd's direction as she spoke the last part of the phrase. She then observed that the Absol's fur is very clean and glossy, a good sign of a well trained Pokémon. "He cares for his Absol, that much I will give him for now. This also might explain the glare..."

"A-and judging by your Absol's beautiful condition," Miki's voice steadied as she continues, "That glare was p-probably from the light's reflection on its horn. B-but don't worry, nobody else noticed it."

She then took a deep breath to steady herself. The young lady is never good at communicating her thoughts to people. "You probably don't believe me right now, but I don't b-blame you. But," she continues as she takes out her luxury ball from her belt, "At least let me say that I, like you, care for my Pokémon as much as you care for Absol." And with that, Raito popped out of the luxury ball in a flash of white. The Jolteon twitched its left ear, curious of its surroundings and the two figures standing before him. Although a bit defensive, Raito managed to let out a polite "Jolt!" as a greeting.

((Don't worry about it. It looks fine to me! ^^))

"Oh, uhh, alright then," Sarcus replies, still unsettled. "Hey buddy," he said gently to the girl's Jolteon. "What's up?" He leaned over and extended his hand out to the eeveelution to let it sniff his hand. "I guess there's no problem with you guys staying here." With that, he retreated away from her a bit before leaning against the wall a bit stiffly. Being around unfamiliar people made him anxious. His Absol, sensing his nervousness, looked at the girl, her Jolteon, then him, and proceeded to settle down on the pavement between the three. Belatedly, Sarcus realized he had been complimented. "Thank you, by the way. Absolution and I have been together for a long time." He noted that she seemed to be just as nervous as he was, especially since her Jolteon showed it. He tried to focus on the battle once again, interested to see how it turned out.

"Jolt~," Raito carefully sniffed the guy's hand while Miki watched anxiously. She relaxed, though, as Raito nudged the hand for a petting. "If Raito doesn't sense any danger, then I guess I can relax too." Nevertheless, she will not reveal everything yet, not until she knows his real purpose for being here.

"I guess there's no problem with you guys staying here."

"Thanks," she said politely as the young boy leaned up against the wall to watch the on-going battle. Then his Absol sat right in between them; she deducted that he is just as nervous as she is around people. "Well, that makes two of us." Respecting their space, Miki sat herself down close to the entrance of the main street, adjusting her position just enough so that she won't be seen. Although she can't see the action as well as she could if she stands up, Miki would rather conserve her energy for another sprint just in case things get out of hand. The trainers' voices and the subsequent noises will do for now. "Maybe I can ask him about it later, if we make it."

"Thank you, by the way. Absolution and I have been together for a long time."

She smiled at that; the young girl admired such strong bonds between trainer and Pokemon. It is, she believed, through these bonds that the real power of Pokemon and trainers can be shown. It does not matter if the Pokemon has strong attacks if the trainer does not even know its strengths and weaknesses. Power is nothing without knowledge - that is what her parents taught her and she sticks by it through and through.

"I hope you two will stay together for many more years to come. It's nice to meet a normal trainer again." She replied, eyes focused on the raging battle ahead. Raito, in the meantime, inched noisily towards Absolution, totally ignoring the signs of nervousness due to his curiosity. "Raito, don't make a bad first impression," she teased. The yellow Pokemon glanced at her trainer's back, gave a smirk, and lay next to the Absol as compensation. "Absolution huh? A play on "Absol" no doubt. Absolute, Absolutely, Absolence, Absolete, Absolver... Yep, Absolution is much better for a name." She couldn't help but giggle at the play on words.

"Thanks. It's nice to meet you too," he stated, still a bit on edge. "Your -what was it you called him? Raito?- seems happy. Seems like a lot of people don't care about that any more." He wondered what she was doing here. Most people wouldn't stick around to watch this sort of thing, especially with what had happened to those unfortunate Church members. He realized that he hadn't even introduced himself. If she's some Church agent, I'm screwed anyway. It couldn't hurt to just tell her my name. "I'm Sarcus, by the way." He had already decided not to tell her anything else about him quite yet. I'm sure it wouldn't matter, but I don't need the Church coming down on my hometown because I opened my mouth at the wrong time.

Absolution watched this all. He noticed the Jolteon sidling up next to him, but didn't mind. Despite what his Trainer might be thinking, it was pretty obvious that this girl wasn't trying to be deceitful. Her Jolteon was the same way. Sarcus trusted him, and if he saw that his partner didn't mind the presence of the two, he would relax. The Absol let out a small laugh, earning a quick glance from his trainer. The two were so similar, but both were being so standoffish that neither seemed to notice.

("Clever child, wanting to savor the hunt. Reminds me of me way back when. However, he knows little of Shauntal's power. No matter how strong you are, no matter how resistant, how agile you are, nothing you can do can outsmart her. She let us in...and now we are in her library. She knows every little thing about us ever since we stepped foot in here. Well..almost everyone. AWAKEN) A flicker of crimson shone in the halls. Aeon had risen from the sleep powder. "Hmph, the use of Sleep Powder is admirable. Luckily, my body was trained for such substances." He noticed the other two, both asleep, and lifted them on his shoulders. Then he noticed a small note, and read it. "That damn FOOL! Does he wish to die?!" Aeon trudged forwards, til he reached his destination. "On my cue." He released Sedona, and entered the room. It was an alter, grim and bleak, with purple flames dancing in the dark. Her battle was nearly over by now.

Bruiser and Josh were in a crucial state. Repeatedly, a laugh repeated, over and over, as balls of darkness pelted the duo. "Shauntal, stop!" Aeon placed his sleeping allies away from the entrance, where a small black package lays waiting for its purpose to be fulfilled.

"JACK!! It has been so long!" Shauntal had ended her barrage. "Did you miss me? Oh! The Church is so wonderful, Jack. So much knowledge that they give me!"

"Quiet, I had enough of this." Aeon glared coldly. "What you did that day to master Alder and Darach...Marshall and Caitlyn were heartbroken. Grimsly never stopped looking for you. The deaths of those men, I'll be the one to put them at peace." "But Jack, are you not a murderer yourself?" More anger surged. "One; DO NOT call me by my name. Two, there is a difference between an assassin and a maniac. An assassin has a cause. A maniac doesn't."

"You are always trying to justify your methods, yet to no avail. Your leaders have little faith in anything besides your profession, and only care about that. With Dawn, she'll lead you to greatness."

"Greatness? or Slavery?" Aeon has her in his own trap. "Now Josh!"

Suddenly a Sludge Bomb hit the Cofagrigus, managing to K.O. it when it was off guard. "What?" The shocked "Seer" said. "Sedona, Night Slash on her." From above, Sedona had swooped down from above, a slashed the woman, killing her on impact. "Now with that gone, show yourself Shauntal."

Where as Josh was confused, Aeon knew Shauntal was here. "You were right, this is a fake. The REAL one is....those flames." A column of fire had bursted in the room. Standing there was a grown woman, dressed in a black and purple cloak, wearing reading glasses and wielding a large tome.

"Clever as always. The scent of everyone's blood is different to you...or their life force I should say, Jack the Ripper." A smile finally crept on once a grim and serious man. "Well, glad you know my talents, milady. But I'm afraid our time is due. Grimsley put up quite the hefty bounty on you."

"Then he must wait for my death. I have all of my data required. The mother here was so kind for letting me possess her, and she served her purpose. Devour her soul and all her minion's as you please." Aeon was not yet finished. "One question. Your research, it is about Project Turnback is it not? Giratina's power is what you guys are after." "Hmm, well considering the fact that we are located in ETERNA CITY, the City known for LORE, I'd say so. Now off I go." Shauntal, the True Seer, vanished in the flames.

"There he is! Get him for the mother!"

"Putrid beasts, weeds writhing for life. But to no avail..." An explosion went off, killing almost all of the members. The others are running away. "Sedona, feed me." On his command, Sedona, the Reaper within the Roses, slew all of the escaping members.

(Fuck that shit. Serves me right for writing this half asleep)
