Can someone please explain to me what has happened so far into the story? 2 years is a long wait y'know.

I'm so hyped for this new patch but I can't help but feel sad that I'd forgotten all of the story so far. All I need right now is just what happened that had led us to Sashila Village. I would also appreciate any explanation for the side story that got continued.

Also I'd recommend replaying the game again - the earlygame got reworked to be much less plothole-y (the entirety of chapter 3 and 4, I'm looking at you), and it's a bit harder than before to keep you on your toes.
