A Little Help for a Pokemon n00b?

Hi all,

I just downloaded this game yesterday and let me tell you, it is probably one of the funnest games I have ever played. But it is pretty hard to figure out where to go and whatnot. So for the Tangrowth battle after talking to that crazy guy ZEL, my lvl 26 Charmeleon keeps on disobeying me because I only have the Volt badge and I don't really know where the next gym is....I don't want to have to keep wasting money on Common Candies, I would rather just be able to go through the gyms. But I don't even know where to start looking for gym #2. And none of the rest of my team is strong enough to face a lvl 25 Tangrowth. The closest is my Parishricu or whatever that's like a lvl 18. But he doesn't do crap against a Tangrowth. And it's a really bright day so my charmeleon keeps getting sunburned in addition to his disobedience. And I have left the game running for hours waiting for it to turn to night but I'm assuming you have to beat Tangrowth first. Any help?

P.S. I would also like to find the Pichu in the game because, and I know, typical n00b! but I love Pikachu.

P.P.S Also how do I fight online?

Can't just go through the gyms. that's part of the challenge. And it is indeed noobish to raise your starter in exclusion to everyone else. Trust me, you're gonna need to build up several teams to make it any further in the game. And there isn't any online multiplayer for the reborn game as of yet.

Listen to this guy!

I actually left my starter in the PC box due to it being so weak compared to the others, still on it's 2nd evolution stage.

try building a good team, fire, water, grass, flying, phychic (Abra is good, you just need to switch out a lot to evolve it) and you should be good :)

Okay thanks. But I'm not sure how to train up my alt pokemon when I've already faced the trainers that are at those pokemon's levels. Also, can you get them to obey you better if they "love" you?

Once you're above the level cap, nothing will make them obey you until you get the badge you need or use a Common Candy. I would recommend lowering your Charmeleon's level by a couple stages and taking on the Tangrowth then. The second gym is in the ward above the Coral ward, and trust me, she's a pain in the ass if you do things the way you're doing them. I can't remember too much of the early game, but from what I can there is a nice little training spot I used in the park after you beat the Tangrowth. It's nice for fire, flying, psychic, and poison types at least.
