Tomas Elliot
GOAT MAKING D-BRY PROUD Gogoat (M/F) @ Life Orb Trait: Sap Sipper EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spe Adamant (or Jolly) Nature - Substitute - Bulk Up - Leech Seed - Horn Leech Gogoat is interesting. You don't often see a Pokemon with respectable Atk, decent bulk and very high HP that also happens to have access to 4 (FOUR!) recovery moves. Leech Seed, Synthesis, Milk Drink and Horn Leech: lots of supporters and bulky offenders would kill to have at least one of these moves, and Gogoat has them all. Since I am a huge fan of bulky offense however, I tried to go that way. The point of this set is to exploit the good bulk and the key resistances/immunities (resistant to Water and Ground, two very common offensive types, and immune to Grass thanks to the Sap Sipper ability which will boost its attack upon switching in) to switch into the key Pokemon of the UU tier (yes, I am predicting Gogoat to be UU, a good UU actually) like the bulky Water-types, Flygon scarf-locked into EQ, and Sub-Seed Shaymin (which usually carries Earth Power as coverage move), and set up in their face. Thanks to the very high HP stat Gogoat enjoys, the Substitutes it makes will have more than 100 HP, and thus won't be destroyed by moves that deal fixed damage, so defensive Pokemon like Defense form Deoxys, which rely on such move, will become set-up fodders as well. At this point the idea is simple: if your opponent doesn't have a Pokemon that can pose an immediate threat to your Gogoat (for example a specially attacking Fire-type) you boost your stats with Bulk Up and proceed to deal massive damage with Horn Leech, resting assured that the recovery this move grants will negate the Life Orb recoil, thus allowing you to bring the pain with no drawbacks. If they have a threat to your Gogoat, or maybe a Pokemon that can wall it and kill back (for example Togekiss), you just Leech Seed it during the turn they waste to break your Substitute, and then switch to an appropriate comrade, which will easily take the hit aimed at Gogoat and immediately recover the health lost thanks to Leech Seed, which will be still in effect: this will most likely force your opponent to switch, giving you a free turn to set up OR a free kill with a Choice Band user. Speaking of Choice Band users: should Tyrantrum not make it to the OU tier, the Choice Band set I suggested for it would make a great partner for this set of Gogoat. I can definitely see the two becoming a strong bulky offense core in the UU tier this generation.
