Cannot lose without reverting to old team?

Hello! Sorry for making a topic if it already existed. I just updated to version 13.0.4 and just like in the previous version I cannot seem to lose a trainer battle without reverting to my old team before I entered Terajuma Jungle. This was not the case in 13.0.2.

I already reported the bug a while ago but seems it wasn't resolved yet.

Anyone has a tip on what to do?

You can circumvent this issue by just reloading your save when you lose. Saves on money that way.

I had a similar issue with Rift Hippo much later in the game, where my team would revert after I won, and some of my mons would be deleted entirely, and replaced with duplicates. I solved it by just not changing my team before that fight.

Had that one as well, in the same location even.. Good thing I had Debug Mode or else I would had lost some event mons there (Pyroar and Greninja)

Yeah, I reported it as a bug, I think the heal after the fight is bugged or something. I switched out my mons, in the Hippo Room and my team got messed up, then I tried switching my Pokemon out in the Pokemon center, before I had seen the bomb or anything (by loading a backup save) and my team still go removed. So, seems pretty buggy...

I've not ever had this issue and that is probably because I save before major battles and reset when I lose to save money and so I don't have to travel back to the battle unless I need to change my team and/or grind.

Same. I think it fits the story better too, the MC is supposed to be an unstoppable badass, but if I did not reload after losing, I would have a abysmal win rate... It also helps with reloading early during certain fights, where getting lucky t1 is big, two example of this being

Spoiler

Souta missing Sky Attack t1 and Hazuki's Chandalure getting flinched t1 (which i think is the only way to stop her from trick rooming). Reloading is a pretty OP!

That's true and my win rate would be absolutely abysmal as well without restarting.

It would be interesting if there was a mechanic that somehow prevented resetting during battle and the characters noticed your win rate but it would also be hell and I'd hate it. So yeah THIS IS NOT A SUGGESTION JAN! Lol.

Oh shit, I didn't even consider flinching but with me, she almost never Tricked Roomed on the first turn anyway, more often on the second. I'd tried to taunt her once with Prankster Mega Banette but the Corvanight's Mirror Wall I think it was or something prevented it.

In Reborn it's even borderline cheating because there are a few relationship points for defeating a couple of gym leaders on the first try. Fortunately the relationship points don't mean as much in Reborn as in Rejuvenation. At least not yet.

The reason you can't attack the Chandulre in the Hazuki fight is because, the field effect makes it so that if a Pokemon has Illuminate as its ability in a double battle and the other Pokemon has Mirror wall, all attacks will go to the mirror wall Pokemon, and it just so happens that both those conditions are fulfilled by Hazuki's team...

Yeah I figured that out the stupid way but somehow the Mirror Wall prevented Taunt from working on either mon.

  • 2 weeks later...

Not sure if this is still actual but it happens on other places too now. Before it only happend for 2 major battles like the Giratina Geara fight (first time) or loosing to Giratina on Mount Valor, but now it happens in a weirder way. I wasnt careful and lost to a random trainer respwamed normal but after entering Darklight Woods. (even tough i lost in another area) it went back to the team I had around the 3rd badge. Still dont understand when and why it goes back or not. I just got the message (even tough my team was alive) Healing Party after entering the area Darklight Woods. Instantly reload and redid a lot of things. Seems to be connected to specific areas reloading to an old "teamfile" after loosing anytime even if it happend not shortly before it. Like a few said I save more often now cause of it.
