diana
Protein? No, Protean!! Shen (Greninja) (M) @Life Orb Trait: Protean EVs: 4 Atk, 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed Hasty Nature (+Speed, -Def) -Hydro Pump -Ice Beam -Grass Knot -Water Shuriken Protean is my new favorite ability. It changes your type to the move you're about to use- which grants a blessing in INFINITE STAB. Hydro Pump is a strong water coverage move. Ice Beam is a secondary coverage move that hits Grass and Dragon types who resist Water. Grass Knot takes out those Water Types who resist the other two. Water Shuriken is a multi-hitting priority move to net a surprise kill on things that are at low health and outspeed.
Brockze
Greninja, Flinch Master Kai (Greninja)(M) @ King's Rock Trait: Protean EVs: 4 HP/252 Sp.Atk/252 Spd Modest Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk) -Substitute -Extrasensory -Dark Pulse -Surf Greninja is a beautiful Pokemon. Insane speed, high offense, great movepool...If you want a physical one, that is. The special movepool is a bit more limited. Substitute provides a wall which Greninja can easily exploit (also I think Protean might work on this too). Surf and Dark Pulse are great moves: Surf provides hit all coverage, while DP gives Dark STAB (which may be lesser used this gen, due to Fairy takeover) as well as flinch hax. I chose Extrasensory over other moves like Ice beam or HP Fairy because I felt it had more coverage ( I am trying to get Psychic on one, results soon). As for item? That's to give more flinch hax. Other options are Leftovers and Life Orb, the quintessentials.
diana
keep in mind that king's rock doesn't affect moves that already have a flinch chance on them
James
The AvengerGreninja (M) @ Choice ScarfTrait: ProteanEVs: 4 HP 252 Atk 252 SpeNature: Adamant -U-Turn-Waterfall/Water Shuriken-Night Slash-Power-Up PunchAs we all know, with the birth of X and Y came the arrival of the metagame's premier Water-type revenge killer, Greninja. This set abuses Greninja's immaculate Speed stat as well as its amazing physical movepool + the infinite STAB it receives thanks to the Protean ability. As a revenge killer, Greninja never stays in longer than it has to, so U-Turn for switch advantage along with Waterfall for an amazing STAB Water type move (plus possible flinch hax). Night Slash to combat the Bulky Ghost types and Power-Up Punch is amazing once the Ghost types on the opposing team are gone. You could switch out Waterfall for Water Shuriken if you want a priority attack which in some cases i recommend. Requieon
( I am trying to get Psychic on one, results soon). Doesn't work, sadly. Which I find odd, due to Extrasensory being one of his moves...
Godot
I currently am training this in game... Fezzdog
Anti-lead Greninja (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Protean EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Spikes/Toxic Spikes - Dark Pulse/Extrasensory - Taunt - U-turn A blisteringly fast 122 base Speed and access to Taunt and Dark Pulse makes it a potentially scary suicide/anti-lead spiking set. With access to Dark Pulse/U-turn and an incredibly fast Taunt, it can threaten the common suicide spikers and leads of Deoxys-S, Deoxys-D and Froslass. Deleted User
Here's what I run with mine. Greninja @ Life Orb Ability: Protean EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Speed, 4 HP Modest -Scald -Ice Beam -Extrasensory -Dark Pulse At level 50 (with the life orb), this things Special Attack is Too Damn High! at 255. Anything that isn't a Special Wall is pretty much OHKOd and with that natural speed, a speed friendly nature typically isn't necessary against most other pokemon. Extrasensory is there for the potential fighting type counters that will be brought in against Greninja, instead of taking 2x damage, it will now only take 1/2x. Sapphire
Since when?? Since forever. Here's my set: Greninja @ Life Orb Ability: Protean EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Speed, 4 HP Timid -Surf -Ice Beam -Grass Knot -Dark Pulse With timid he outspeeds 99% of things, and even Noivern only beats him by 2 points. [That's why if you run Noivern you should reduce his speed by 1 to give him an extra hit point]. The point of this set is coverage and damage. You can get SE on a lot of things, Grass Knot OHKOs other Greninjas and does huge damage to things like Snorlax and Tyranitar [even with assault vest on]. Surf is taken over Scald for a bit more punch.
diana
It's never affected them, or else Flinch would be extremely OP. It only adds the chance onto moves without.
