CitrusCustard
(Warning, spoilers for Chapter 7 but I guess you all already knew that- Just being safe because I'm not sure what this forum's policies on spoilers are.) - Greetings, Pokemon Rejuvenation forum. I humbly request an audience with you today because the 7th Gym is currently, to put it politely, driving me up the damn wall. I've played through this game quite casually, and this is my first really difficult fight (This is on casual mode). No matter what I try, I wipe almost instantly- getting only the Beartic if I'm extremely lucky. I've decided that if I want a chance at beating it I need to get my team in shape. But sadly, I don't know the first thing about setting up a team of elites, so I'll try to start by telling you about my current team. Here they are As you can see right off the bat, they aren't exactly champion-grade, but this humble team brought me through the game up until now. I'll talk about them all individually if it's required Tedette- Spoiler The main use I have for Tedette is Will-O-Wisp+Hex, as well as utility with Night Shade and Knock off- and Cursed body has come in clutch more times than I can count. Renegade- Spoiler Renegade, as you can see, is quite a heavy hitter, and stomp flinch may come in handy. Discharge may not be as useful in this one as it is a double battle. Roast- Spoiler Imma keep it real- Roast is an extreme liability in this fight. She will die almost instantly. She was my first encounter besides my starter and i wanted a gale wings so bad that I completely ignored the other stats (i know better now). Better keep her benched in this one or the Gym Leader will cast a spell she doesn't know on her. Prince- Spoiler Prince could have been better. His big attack stat activated my neurons and I was already soft resetting for a long time so I was like "eeeh". But don't get me wrong, he's this big bungus and probably my tankiest mon. Tails- Spoiler next is my local radioactive life raft, Tails. May be able to take advantage of the field with surf but idk. He actually used to know pursuit instead of stacking shot, but I really wanted a super effective move and kinda... saved over it. whoops. Redwood- Spoiler Former acrobat; this guy means all business, all the time. But seriously he's also a major liability. I mostly keep him around because I want to evolve him eventually, and i'm quite attached despite him being my weakest party member- and he's come in clutch from time to time. well that's my main team but I also have a lot of boxed pokemon i can try (like i was thinking of some kind of Flame Burst strategy with a magcargo I caught in the safari zone but it didn't really work yet)- Spoiler Thank you for taking your time to read this, and please tell me any suggestions you have! I'll also post the stats of whatever pokemon that's asked. Edited November 5, 2021 by CitrusCustard
Gastronely
I think your best bet is giving Magcargo a Magical Seed, and using both Lava Plume and Fake Out on the first turn. Lava Plume changes the field to a Dimensional Field, and the Magical Seed immediately sets up Trick Room. After that, you can sweep with Solrock, Magcargo (duh), Magneton, Sheer Force Mawile, Grapploct or Throh
Saroyan
I would advise you to take a look at your Throh. It can know Wide Guard by level up, and since Angie's Sig Move is a move hitting two 'mons at once it will be pretty useful (I used it myself when fighting Angie on my last playthrough). From what I know Mr. Mime can also learn that. It seems you also have a M-Meowstic. If it has Prankster ability it would be really useful, because it's one of the best screen-setters there are. Since you're playing on Casual you can use healing items, so spamming Cosmic Power/healing items/Rock Polish on your Solrock might also be an answer. But I think you should try the Trick Room strat Gastronely suggested above first, it's much more foolproof than mine.
CitrusCustard
Greetings, sorry I took so long to reply, life happened and I was already feeling burned out from trying so hard before. Please note that I actually have no idea where all the items are so please give me a location with your item suggestion Also, i trained all of my pokemon a while back so it's very late to give throh wide gaurd but, nonetheless, heres the team i tried to roll up with ...aaaand i failed. hard. nothing changed, really. right now i only have three useful held items, being the scope lense, muscle band, and charcoal. so I tried mixing and matching with this team but it never worked. the closest I got was because of a few lucky misses or crits. It's also worth noting i also EV trained them. I'll post the "dream team" now: Arsene- Spoiler the goodest of boys, his mind is filled with naught but sunshine- the absolute destruction of all those who oppose him. What a good doggy! Yuji- Spoiler ...It's a Grapploct. I specifically shinyhunted the cool shiny never intending him to see battle, hence the cruddy nature. Pancha- Spoiler eeeeh i dont have much to say. died pretty fast every time. Leodie- Spoiler Leodie.. I wish she was more useful. Though she would have a lot of firepower but due to Macargo's speed and her actually being faster than Arsene, her flamethrower couldnt do much Throggo- Spoiler Yet another Shinyhunt pokemon. This one was slightly less unfortunate but still couldn't pull his weight. Wolter- Spoiler Ah, Wolter. the start of it all. sadly, your ability was SUPER unfortunate, and you would barely last two turns even with recover +weak armor speed boost. So yeah, i still have no idea what to do. If anyone has specific suggestions (i.e. go to this place and capture this) or some kind of synergy I could use that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help so far aswell. ALSO- A location of a good, reliable healing item that i can farm/buy would be instrumental to getting somewhere in this.
