I beat Kiki gym but I do not get badge and TM for strenght

Aquila Noctis

Question

Hi everybody!

I am playing episode 18 and I often refer to this guide that is made for the 17th (oddly I cannot paste the link)

I arrive to this point
Fighting Gym - Badge05

I beat first Victoria, then Kiki, I speak to both after, Victoria gives me the badge and refers to the MT Strenght, but in the end, I do not get anything and pokemon more than 45 do not follow orders.

What did I do wrong?

Now that you mentioned those other pokemon, can't believe I forgot Jynx for the psychic types. Smoochum can be found in the cave underneath Shade's gym, only careful to evolve it into Jynx After it learns Psychic. Jynx doesn't learn Psychic via level up, but Smoochum does, how weird 😖

Return to Reborn City and speak with Cain in front of the Byxbysion gate; the storyline should progress from there.

Who should I get that badge from?

Did you defeat Aya? You should have five badges if you defeated her. You will obtain the Fury Badge from someone else later on in the game.

Aya? Not sure who is she...
Now I am in the wasteland and I found a sort of gym in this land and there is a guy from before that beats the **** out of me with Rydon, Roserade and so on...

Aya is the gym leader of the wasteland hideout gym, so you're almost at the point where you receive your fifth badge.

It's absolutely normal. Beating some gym leaders will not increase your pokemon level cap. You maybe noticed it after your fight with Corey as well. Your options are to level multiple mons or stock on Common Candies. The good part with Common Candies is that it doesn't lower mon's EVs.
Good luck with Aya, she can be tough if you do not have a good Psychic or a steel pokemon.

True, I still fail to beat her and I tried to bring pokemon back to 45 but I have no good ground, steel or psychic pokemon... expecially psychic, which good pokemon can I get and train in this part of the game?

You can find  Munna in the wasteland during morning I think. Espurr on the Aqua and Magma hideouts. And lastly you get a Gothita as reward for cleaning the library in Beryl ward.

For ground types there are Bunnelby and Phanpy at Beryl ward, but I suggest you use something like Nidoking that knows Earth Power, seeing Earthquake doesn't work in the gym field. You can find Nidoran male at the game corner at Onyx ward and Sandygast at Apophyll beach.

For steel types there's Togedemaru found at Shade's gym and maybe Wormadam trash cloak with quiver dance can be useful on this gym.

On the Psychic note I'd add Drowzee/Hypno if you were lucky enough to get it. There also is Spoink/Grumpig that can be very solid. Alolan Raichu is already available (use thunder stone while on Apophyll). Not a psychic type, but Ariados learns Phychic around lvl 40, resists poison attacks and has some very good utility with Sticky Web and will be very useful for the Dark type gym later.

Ground types are rather common at this point already. Just mind that Earthquake or Bulldoze are MUCH weaker on that terrain. However moves like Earth power or Dig are fully effective, so Dugtrio/Camerupt/Nidoking are your best bet.

For steel Types, you also have Forretress the ultimate wall (except for fire)! Use headbutt on the trees near Reborn center to get a Pineco. You can get Klink in the railway underground as well.

You might also want to try Pledge moves on your pokemons. If the terrain sucks for your team, just change it!
