Naiveinnocence
Windows defender popped up with this warning when I was going through the reborn files; Windows went ahead and blocked and deleted the updater. No new notifications in regards to "Win32.Uwamson.A!ml or Reborn has popped up since then. When I tried to google Win32.Uwamson this came up: When it comes to Uwamson, there are two extremely similar detections - 'Win32/Uwasson.A!m' or 'Win32/Uwamson.A!ml.' The first one is largely considered to be a false positive observed in Windows Defender, while 'Win32/Uwamson.A!ml' indicates the presence of the real Uwamson Trojan and requiring immediate attention. Edit; Scratch that, Windows popped up with another warning about the Reborn Updater in the Reborn19WinFull.zip and proceeded to remove the updater. Oh and yes, I did download ep19 straight from the source on the beta post and not some third party. I'm not completely sure if this is some sort of false positive. The game runs just fine as does my computer, just that bit of information I found about it Uwamson being a trojan and what it can do was pretty concerning

xaviershuzen
Same problem for me. To further explain, the Updater file DOES exist within my zipped folder for E19, but does not transfer over when I unzip the folder. Copying the file directly from the zipped folder to the unzipped folder and then attempting to open it causes Windows Defender to issue a warning. Attempting to select Run Anyway immediately causes the file to shut down with an error message, and the Updater is no longer in the folder after this. I have tried to completely reinstall the Zipped file from both mirrors, as well as attempt to alter permissions, but this issue has not been fixed for me. Naiveinnocence
Wow, glad to know I'm not the only one having this issue. Through another topic(19.0.1 Update Location Question) reading through it, it seems that Window Defender flags the updater as a trojan when it's trying to update Reborn to 19.0.1 and deletes it. I did get the warning though when not even trying to update Reborn or launch the updater. I'm not sure if it's suppose to act on its own or not and whatever was going on Windows didn't like and gets rid of it.
Administrators Amethyst Posted April 21, 2022 Administrators Share Posted April 21, 2022 It is a false positive, please add an exception for it and report it to your AV. We've already been trying to reduce positives and communicate with AVs like Windows Defender to reduce these kinds of issues.
Naiveinnocence
Okay, thank you for replying and all your hard work on this amazing game!
Lucifer Morningstar
I was blocked when I updated to 19.1 as well. I just said 'Run Anyway' then closed the updater and reopened it and it was fine. Perhaps using Avast rather than Windows Defender made a difference.

When the AV qurantines it you can go to the qurantine area and decide what to do with the qurantined file, from there you can choose to set an exception by making the file trusted, an alternative folks have brought up is downloading the patch from wherethe Mac users grab the patch as it's the same thing offered by the updater, you just do the patch manually
