So after some reasearches I found that actually there was a Reborn League in Pokemon Online and that the game was created from its characters. But I also saw that some events that happened to the Reborn League gym leaders also happened in game. And there really crazy things that happen in game so could someone confirm that ?

I'd take that with a grain of salt. Hard to believe that real people commit suicide, or a child was adopted by a complete stranger to it. Before my unskilled eyes, it looks like an urban legend or something, to hype the game and reinforce the setting's mythos.

Real people do commit suicide. I myself have tried.

Whoops! I'm sorry. Still though, that is a relative rare occurence, especially in places that people gather and people have fun.

A lot of it is real to an extent,

Spoiler

That adoption part did in fact happen.

Generally when people wonder about the league, this is the post that sums a lot of it up.

The only part I didn't believe until now was Sigmund because what are the odds of having someone who uses electrotherapy on kids also playing in an online league of Pokemon. But if that's actually true then that story is deep.

Actually, electroshocks as a therapy IS a thing in treating mental conditions, with confirmed positive effects, but the effects are often temporary. Nowadays it is, of course, a painless voltage/amperage applied, but it is rarely used anyway, due to the reception and low effectiveness. Regardless, some of the events happened in real life (suicide, custody battle, post-trauma amnesia after a car crash, etc.). There is also this G.Gardevoir interview in the TV saying that Amaria demolished the administrator (or so) checking if she's still able to hold her gym leader position - thats also real-life inspired.

Actually, when I've read that, I've known (almost) anything from that list...

...

...but not Sigmund ACTUALLY using electroshocks on-  wow...

I knew he was trying to get under the skin of the Challengers during the time, and was probably even arrested, but Christ... And Anna, Saphira--  that is... I can't even find the right words
