Maelstrom
Soul's Blastoise Maelstrom (Blastoise) (M) @ Custap Berry Trait: Rain Dish EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Surf - Mirror Coat - Ice Beam - Toxic Neither of its abilities are great, but with the prevalence of rain teams, rain dish may help it become a bigger pain pain to the other team. This Blastoise WILL take Serperior's first Leaf Storm and make him eat it with Mirror Coat. Same goes for anybody thinking of an easy thunderbolt. Toxic is especially good against other tanks/stalls and water pokemon. Ice beam is of course for fliers, grass types, and the common dragon. Some of you may trade out Surf for Boiling Water or the Custap berry for Focus Sash or Leftovers.

Maelstrom
Except that Thunder really really really really sucks in the rain. If you're blastoise, that is.

Fezzdog
Bulky Cannon(Blastoise) (M) @ BlastoisiniteTrait: TorrentEVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtkModest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)- Hydro Pump/Water Pulse- Aura Sphere- Dragon Pulse/Ice Beam- Dark PulseMegaBlastoise's 135 Special Attack and lovely 79/120/115 defenses make it a perfect candidate as a bulky Water attacker. His decent coverage and use of the Mega Launcher ability give him a niche versus other bulky attacking Water-types like Rotom-W or Suicune. Water Pulse is boosted to the same BP as a Surf after Mega Launcher is taken into consideration, which makes it a suitable alternative to Hydro Pump because of it's chance to confuse. Aura Sphere is also boosted enough by Mega Launcher to make it an 100 accuracy Focus Blast, which is a major asset to any Special Attacking Pokemon. Dragon Pulse also gets the same treatment, essentially becoming a Draco Meteor (albeit missing around 8 BP) with no pronounced drawbacks. An effectively 120 BP Dark Pulse provides a SE hit to that ever so pesky Aegislash. With such powerful moves backed up by an 135 Special Attack, it's hard to see anything standing up to this behemoth. One notable counter to this set is a Specially Defensive Roserade if not running Ice Beam, but the immense amount of coverage that Blastoise has been provided with makes it a very hard Pokemon to switch into, especially considering most Electric-types are frail. Rotom-W is notable for it's bulk and STAB Electric, as is the likes of Ampharos and Lanturn. Volt Switchers are also terribly annoying for Blastoise, but with miniscule prediction, you could likely kill off one or two of your opponent's before it wears you down. Tomas Elliot
I use basically the same set as Fezz's, with one major difference... Rapid Spin! By dropping a coverage move (either Aura Sphere or D-Pulse) Mega Blastoise becomes the best Rapid Spinner of the modern era, with its respectable bulk (which can be exploited to keep the guy alive with Wish support) and its Dark Pulse that laughs at each and every Ghost in existance, thus preventing Spinblocking... I used to have Starmie as offensive Rapid Spinner in my Gen 6 OU test team on Showdown, but recently I swapped to Mega Blastoise and it is seriously amazing... I personally run Ice Beam to hit Grass-types on the switch, Dark Pulse for the aforementioned anti-spinblock purposes, and Water Pulse as a STAB! Maelstrom
Water Pulse Dragon Pulse/Ice Beam Aura Sphere/ Dark Pulse Flash Cannon/ Dark Pulse I can see dark pulse being pretty useful against the prevalence of ghost types this time around like aegislash, Mega Bannett, and Mega Gengar while simultaneously batting down on those psychic types. But Flash Cannon can be the unexpected counter to all the fairies coming in to play as well. Aura sphere is powerful with the launcher boost but isn't gonna hit too many things that stab launcher water pulse isn't gonna hit harder (Ferrothorn, Mega-Aggron, Lucario). Ice beam hits most dragons for 4x damage but when you've got Dragalgae and Kindgra and plenty of ice attack reducing berries and multiscale, Dragon Pulse can put paid to their plans.
