Plz fix magician ability

Hey it would be super cool if magician was fixed to keep  items stolen from trainer battles :)

 

as of now magician only seems to keep items stolen from wild Pokémon 

 

fennekin would be much more useful with this upgrade to magician

That’s a cool idea, but if magician could keep items from trainers, that would be quite broken imo. For example you could get a ton of choice items, life orbs etc from the circus clown very easily, and the game would be in easy mode. So I think it’s not quite possible for the devs to do that

Assuming Magician works in the same manner as Thief, then it's working as it should be already:

Do not be greedy! Trainers start using endgame items early, like midway story. Old Indra in circus for instance, used to have Scarfs. You aren't meant to get those items, until very late into the game. Magician works well, is a great ability for item-hunting. You should only be careful whenever stealing berries, since you run the risk of them activating right after you get them.

Iirc there's a procedure that may help keeping the item, which involves using thief, flinging the item and then recycling. That said, I agree with the others, that would be too easy

Magician does work as intended and as it does in the games, they removed the ability to take trainer items a few gens ago.
