pantros1
(I think this is the right place since it pertains to E19 but if it's not I'll move it to it's place) How can you tell you get a shiny with a pokemon like alola vulpix? I looked up the shiny for it, and it's only major difference between it and regular alola vulpix seem to be only it's eyes and ears. would I have to hatch the egg to tell if it's a shiny or not? Seel The Deal
the shiny egg sprite still looks slightly different (the colours match its tail). if you're concerned about missing one you could wait for 5 eggs at a time and look at them all side by side in the pc/party menu

The difference isn't big, but the colors slightly differ - as long as you know what you're looking for, you should be able to distinquish them. (the bottom right egg is the shiny one, bottom left is the normal one)

If you're encountering or hatching Alolan Vulpix, you can check its appearance in the game as soon as it appears. For wild encounters, if you see a difference in the color of the Pokémon compared to the normal ones, then it's shiny.
