Aside from using it for getting the Mega-Z Ring as early as at the start of the game, if you wanted, i kinda feel like this password's true purpose is to work as a way around if you somehow ended up not being able to finish that quest, because you either gave away or evolved one (or more) of the required mons. Which in fact actually happens to a lot of people, especially first timers who, if they didn't look up a guide beforehand, obviously didn't know about this quest and its very specific requirements for completion.
