Fervis Posted January 20, 2023 Author Share Posted January 20, 2023 As result of today, i will need ot remove gen 8 implementations from the game that were based on BlueTowels mod. thus it will take a while to reorganize everything, but i will probably add another download link with reduced gen8 implementations over the next weeks. I say @Fervis should just use the changes they made, and hope it is not using any of Bluetowel's stuff, and If they do disapprove somehow and in someway for some reason (which I don't how they would if they supposedly left, and for that matter, why they would even care, as long as they are given proper credit of course) then we could just ask them then for approval and then let them know we wanted to ask for approval earlier, but they left or went/were unreachable, so we were unable to. @Fervis @TrainGhidoran Of course if Fervis has another way of contacting them that we don't know about, or of Bluetowel actually didn't leave, then approval still might be possible... Actually, I just read the most recent post of his. His life's gone to far downhill and he's starting over. Entirely. All the PoA stuff and other projects are still there and PoA has a team working on it, but he's no longer involved in any sense in the community. Safe to say you can use his assets, but as the other members of the PoA team first to be safe. BlueTowel has a good legacy someone should take the reigns of and see it through. I'm tearing up while reading this. I didn't know he was struggling in so many ways. Of course, the issue with his dad was most likely a leading reason with me, as it exactly described the situation i had with him. in regard to my mod, it would be extremely disrespectful to directly contact someone from PoA just for their assets right now. I don't know what i can do right now with my mod (as the matter of approval), but i will let all that sink in before setting priority on my selfish mod work, as i feel involved in adding pressure to him. It was a great Work and I want to thank you for that cool Mod. I am in very big crisis too. But I would never prevent any work of a Mod based on official Pokemon content because of my Situation. Call me asshole. I dont Care. Maybe I am selfish. Maybe if you were asking to use their assets perhaps, but all you would be doing is asking them to check and make sure you aren't using their assets as you have already redone them yourself. He just doesn't want people using his assets, that he developed on his own time, being used without his permission. He is telling him to make his mod, using his own scripts, and not PoA scripts. How stupid of me. And I'm more sorry myself that my first post here is getting upset with someone for being like that. I mainly made this account because these forums won't let you download certain files without an account and look what I got myself into :/ I agree that maybe Train doesn't quite have the best attitude (but it could be worse). Mental health issues can be a serious thing, and those people having them deserve our compassion and sympathy. That being said, just because someone is having having a mental issue doesn't give them the right to be unsympathic and not courteous to others themselves (trying to keep a positive attitude and outlook, while hard at times, can help a lot with with mental issues, so actually it would be good for them to try to be sympathic not courteous). Everyone should just be sympathic and courteous to each other regardless. No one should bash anyone because of mental health issues, but I don’t think that is what is happening here. It is because of the interactions between Fervis and BT and BT's actions/reactions that people are mad, and not BT's mental health (I know BT’s mental health may have played into it a bit, but one can still have compassion and sympathy even though they have mental health issues, and yes it may be not be easy for them, but still doable). I know Fervis has tried to take all of BT's stuff out of this mod, and as far he knows he has. If BT is saying that there is still some of it left then the courteous thing would be for them to say what it is so Fervis can remove/replace it. I mean it is like SapphireLucario said, they are just freaking mods, so it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. I feel bad for BT and that they are going through so much bad stuff, and I wish them the best recovery, but that is no reason for them to shut out the rest of the world (although shutting out some parts might not be that bad of a thing, like leaving certain communities as SapphireLucario said, but at least leave one line of communication to said community open). If anything, it is more of a reason to open it up more. Sure some folks can still make life miserable (that is just a part of life), but others can give you support, which sounds like is what BT needs right now (even if they might not admit/know it). I see no reason Fervis can’t reupload the mod with all of his changes. At least he has tried to take out all of BT’s stuff (and likely has at this point). If BT cares that much then he can let Fervis know what items are still offending, if any, after the reupload. I’m sure Fervis would have no issues removing/replacing them, he just would need to know what they are. Also, I would think there would have to be at least some folks on the PoA team that Fervis can run their mod by to make sure nothing is still offending. Again, that would be the respectful thing to do and not disrespectful. No one is trying to step on BT’s toes here, just the opposite, we are trying to unstep, and if we can’t do that, then we certainly can make new steps of our own and make our own gen 8 move effects.
