THE SUN.. ITS SO VILE
Vileplume (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 Def/ 252 Special Att/ 252 speed
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- SolarBeam
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Vileplume can be a good sweep in the sun. Giga Drain is to heal from life orb, Solarbeam for a powerful stab. Same for SB. HP fire is to kill off steels.
Lifeorb for more punch.

[U riek stall?]
[Vileplume] (M/F) @ [Black Sludge]
Trait: [Effect Spore]
EVs: [252 HP/ 4 Spd/252 Def or 252 SpDef]
[Nature] Bold/Calm
- Sleep Powder
- Leech Seed
- Hidden Power[Fire]/Hidden Power[Ice]/Aromatherapy
- Giga Drain/Aromatherapy

[Vileplume is in an interesting position. Like many other grass types, it received a nice buff with Drought Ninetales, bearing Chlorophyll. However, as you can see by looking at the moveset, this is not a sun sweeper, but more of an old school stall/utility Pokemon. If you played NU in 4th Generation you might have some experience with this type of set. Sleep Powder and Leech Seed form the core of the set, Sleep being an incredibly powerful mechanic, and Leech Seed being perfect for a tanky Pokemon such as this, will suffice quite well in lower tier play. The set lacks Special Attack investment, however either Hidden Power, and Giga Drain can do some heavy damage when super effective. Of course, you can also tweak the EVs to add some offensive power, or speed. Finally, Aromatherapy is a very useful move that will heal all status from your team; just beware that your offensive options are limited if you select it.]

Offensive Plume

Vileplume @ Life Orb
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis

This Plume can take any one hit from both sides as long as it isn't super effective. It then can force a switch and nothing really wants to take any of the moves coming off of a 110 base SpAtk. Giga Drain and Sludge Bomb for STAB. HP Fire for Ferroseeds and other Steel types. Synthesis for hella recovery.

Defensive Attacker

Vileplume @ Black Sludge
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 216 Def / 248 Hp / 44 SpDef
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb
- Moonlight

This Vileplume takes out the many swords dance based water types that plague the tier and easily blocks fighting types like scarf Primape if not locked into ice punch and sawk.
