Eviora
I can't beat Corey at all. My team is Kirlia, Loudred, Combustken, Trubbish, Gyrados, and a weak Weepinbell. Could anyone offer me any advice on how to beat this guy? Also, where can I go to train in case I need to level new Pokémon? Thanks for your help. =x
Kalina
I had Gardevoir at that point, after several Double Teams she annihilated Corey all by herself
Khayoz
Yep, for a start you should get Kirlia to Gardevoir, that'll help with most of Corey's Pokes. For the Skuntank, I guess Combusken will be your best choice unless you can be bothered training a Ground type (like Phanpy, which can be found outside Corey's gym). Eviora
Okay, I'll try that. Skuntank hasn't really been a problem, just Crobat... though I haven't seen his last Pokémon yet. I guess my biggest concern is how frail Gardevoir is. I'll need some luck to set up double teams.
Slicster
You can train Kirlia in the Beryl Ward because of Poison types, or just stay in the Rhodochrine Jungle, and probably teach Kirlia Charge Beam.
Khayoz
If you put enough speed EVs on Gardevoir it should be able to outspeed the Crobat. Luckily, the alleyways in Peridot, and the Railnet (Peridot side, enter from under the bridge) consist mostly of Pokemon that give speed EVs (i.e. Zubat, Stunky, Purrloin, Trubbish, etc, just avoid the Koffings in the alleyways)
Eviora
Ugh, I am terrible at this. My Kirlia keeps having to go to the Pokémon Center cause she's too fragile... and this is against wild Pokémon.
Khayoz
That's why evolving it is a must. Don't worry! Be patient and keep going at it, and you'll soon have a Gardevoir
Eviora
Up to 28. >.< I have to run to the Pokémon Center after almost every battle, this hurts so much. v.v
Conquest
Don't worry we all had to go through with it. At least you are not trying to do an entire rival battle with Kirlia, I did that and was on edge the whole time barely managed to keep it from fainting. Eviora
... ... ...Well, I got my Gardevoir and effortlessly swept him. Thanks everyone! ^.^
Scenekidlove
Hmm, I killed the crobat using my own Gyarados. But you can also consider training a Bidoof to a Bibarel and then trading him for Abra. Train that to a Kadabra and then beat Corey. Kadabra will level really fast due to being a traded pokemon. He is also alot less frail than Kirlia at that point.
ShatteredSkys
Corey gave me hell when I face him well more specifically his crobat, back than I had a kirlia, boldore, bayleaf, trubbish, and loudred as my core team. Nothing out speeds crobat and pretty much everyone gets instantly killed by it. It took me 8-9 tries to beat him and I had to raise a graveler.
