Mega Metagross

What would it look like, and what ability and stat boosts would it get?

I personally think that it would detach its legs, gaining a sh*tload of Attack in the process, and gain Levitate. (Because Metagross seriously needs Levitate, now. The pokedex entries specifically say it can levitate. )

Probably the most high quality one's I've seen after a quick search. I personally like the last one the best but they all have their merits.

As for stats changes, I could see it gaining a massive attack and defense and decent Sp. Defense for a good tank. Abilities could be levitate, iron fist or even download and wondergaurd or heatproof. Wondergaurd and heatproof could be viable due to steel being normally affected by dark and ghost this gen.

It won't get wonderguard. Ever. There's an interview somewhere where they say Wonderguard won't go to anything other than Shedinja.

It definitely needs Levitate, Its probably the worst pseudo-legendary out right now with 2 more weaknesses and not good enough stat distribution to take hits from them, it makes it difficult to use... I still love him tho and would consider that 3 fan pic...

Excuse the stupidiy I had when I posted that first idea for abilities.

Levitate would definitly be the best way to go. He has four weaknesses now and only having two weaknesses was one of the best things about him in Gen 5. Heatproof could work, but it's fhe signiture ability of Bronzong and it's family. So levitate is the best.

Levitate is also Bronzongs thing. he needs something that makes him unique. Maybe something that removes his weaknes to Dark and Ghost-type attacks? Maybe something like Thick Fat? Levitate would just make him a Bronzong clone [himself a semi-clone of Metagross].

Levitate is used on dozens of Pokemon, but I see your point. A good ability could be one like thick fat that negates his weaknesses to Dark and Ghost, maybe called pure aura? I know it's a terrible name but it's just an idea. Another could be one that simply makes him immune to dark or physicic. Whatever happens it should be an ability that takes away a weakness or two, as Metagross's two weaknesses was a big selling point in Gen V. At the very it should be like justified and raise attack when he's hit with a super-effective move.

Also bulletproof is the signature ability of Chesnaught's line.

You could, but that would imply it protects vs. psychic type attacks. Shadow Guard maybe?

How about Filter like Mega Aggron, which weakens Super Effective moves

Filter: Damage by super-effective moves is reduced by 25%.

Shadow Guard. That actaully sounds pretty good. Filter could work well if there wasn't a new ability introduced.

As stated by someone above, Metagross' Pokedex entries claim that it can levitate, so Levitate would really be the only option for a hypotetical Mega Metagross. Incidentally, the only fan art in the second post of this topic that really looks the part is the first one.

If there's mega metagross with levitate then it's ground weakness is gone. Plus it's steel type so ghost, dark, bug etc that beat up psychics can't get through the steel aspect. Meaning it will be unstoppable to just about everything but fire. And it will probably have large compliments to its defensive and sp attack fields to make psychic moves better and to protect itself from large amounts of damage. Mega metagross would be THE steel type unless somehow they give skarmory a mega evo

Um.....Dark and Ghost attacks will still hit him like a truck. A Shadow Ball from most ghosts would OHKO him. Steel can't do squat to resist Dark and Ghost. And I'd still take Aegislash over Mega Metagross myself.
