Alina's eyes darted over the group of people as they arrived. It seemed (and probably was) much smaller than what she had seen in the gym. Either the rest were running late, or they chickened out like the scouts. After a moment of silent debate, Alina thought, Screw this. I'll handle em myself if I have to. But every minute lost could be a life lost out there. She looked longingly at the smoke in the distance. As much as she wanted to kick all the Shadow a**es out there, reality hit her. There was no way a single girl, no matter how skilled, could fight a mob of grunts and acolytes AND protect the passengers at the same time. And without causing mass destruction.

"So. Here's the plan. I hope you're ready to sprint, because we will be sprinting. On water. Its approximately two thousand meters from here to the edge of the barrier, likely less to the wreck. We may meet opposition along the way. When you get to the boat, wait for everyone else. You all are in charge of getting the passengers out safely, and in one piece. Pair up and beat any team Shadow member that gets in your way. Don't kill yourselves though, and dont get killed either. The boat has three floors, including the deck. There's a hallway that goes roughly in an oval around each floor. Counting down, floor one has the engine room and the captain's room. Floor two six rooms, floor three has four rooms," Alina said, with an unusual amount of detachment in her voice.

~~

Grace was furiously scribbling on her hand, nabbing every bit of information she could get as usual. Her teacher seemed to be on pins and needles, no matter how much she tried to hide it under a poker face. Quite the contrary, Grace was raring to go. Though she was a bit breathless from sprinting all the way from the academy, two thousand meters didnt seem like a lot.

"Lydia, if you would please," Alina turned to a girl with rose colored hair. The latter answered with a single nod, and began chanting a spell. A strange gold mist emanated from her fingertips.

~~

Whaaatt?! More running? Tami thought when Alina brought up the plans. Aww, great. Front line fighting in a tiny boat. Suddenly she noticed a gold-colored wind flow through the crowd. The breeze took her fatigue with it and left a strange lightness in her legs. "So I suppose this is how we'll "run on water", right?" she asked. Alina didnt reply. An ice-blue sphere of energy formed between her hands, which she thrust onto the water. It immediately froze over into a sturdy looking layer of ice that appeared to reach on and on.

"Go."

(Jake) "Simple enough, hah, I'm the last person you'd expect to be beaten by a couple of jerks like them..." , he'd said with a wink.

Mark smacked him for his ridiculous pride, and spoke up.

(Mark) "they aren't a bunch of wurmples, these are serious people here who want to kill you." He turned to Alina, giving a small nod as the breeze swept through them. "let's go everyone... move on!"

Jake and Mark took off down the ice trail over the water at full speed, hoping that they wouldn't run into any trouble down the path too early.

"So, anyone with long-ranged attackers want to pair up with me?"

Tami turned at the word "long-range". "Me!" She almost shouted. Quickly returning to her introvert self, she added, "My pokemon are more status condition oriented though, and Im kinda more of an outdoor fighter.. I mean Im best with sniping something far away while hidden behind a wall or something, so I guess I'll be pretty useless right?"

"Well, my Pokemon will be the wall you hide behind. They're pretty much dedicated to dishing out damage up close, but they need the support of status conditions. Useless is the opposite of what you would be." He turned to leave. "We've got no time to lose, though."

Reaching a shape in the distance, Jake and Mark slowed down and began to creep towards their location before thinking on it more. And Mark threw his hand before Jake.

(Mark) "wait. We're running up to a boat guarded by enemies, consider that... We have our pokemon, a battle knife, and 3 throwing knives each, remember? We don't have too much to work with if things get too hot... Instead of a frontal assualt, we can be more useful by flanking...

Jake nodded solemnly, and the two dived into the sea beside them, thinking the same thing.

They swam as quickly as they could, Jake carrying his pokemon with him as they went. Mark held his pokeballs tightly so they may not drift away. They would occasionly come up for a short breath, the enchanting breeze made it easy to swim without needing to breath often.

They came upon the back of the boat, and rose from the water.

(Mark) "listen, get Z and Demon to use flamethrower, and melt this part down, but not low enough so water may enter!"

(Jake) "Z! Demon! Flamethrower the wall up there!"

Opening a large enough hole for them to crawl through. Jake and Mark snuck in through the gap.

(Mark) "alright Jake, I need to get to the front with the others, you need to sneak about the ship and find a way to get as many people out through the gap we opened as possible, try to avoid confrontation... Good luck..."

The two split ways as Mark went to go meet the others, while Jake went off to sneak about.

He passed the oval hall and found himself positioned behind a box, he peeked out slowly and saw a man in a strange dark uniform... He had his back turned... They must be the tema that had taken the boat... Or maybe he was wrong...

Focusing clearly, he tried to contact his friends or at least Alina, he hadn't trained in psychic abilities. The signal would be terribly weak, but this was his only chance...

"Hello?... I'm inside, sneaking alone... There's a man here, back turned, in a dark uniform... What should I do?..."

The Scout leapt over the edge of the boat, a wicked grin on his face as a group of surprised Team Shadow members began to rush toward him. A deep red aura began to surround Sonny and he became visibly larger, his muscles bulging underneath his uniform. He briefly considered drawing his sword, but decided against it and cracked his knuckles. "So, who's first?" he asked sarcastically as the Team Shadow members reached him. The first one received a straight right to the face, crumpling immediately to the floor. As two more closed in the Scout jumped at one, kicking him hard in the chest and springboarding off of him to deliver a superman punch to the next. He ducked under a wild swing from a Team Shadow member and his amulet glowed, releasing Rayleigh from its confines. The Sawsbuck mule kicked the enemy to the floor and then turned toward the rest of the crowd. Suddenly, the Scout and his Pokemon seemed to fuse together, Sonny's form visible underneath a coat of thick fur and antler's. He drew his hands back and grinned. "I'm glad it's so sunny today!" he said, thrusting them forward and releasing a powerful Solarbeam at the remainder of the Team Shadow members. Many of them were sent flying overboard and a huge hole was blown in the safety railing, with many others crumpled unconscious on the deck.

Sonny brushed his hands against each other, a bored look on his face. "I honestly expected you guys to put up a better fight. I certainly hope you all don't try something like that against Alina. Even I'm afraid of her sometimes." He then looked up toward the shore, where he saw Alina freezing the water. Slow. Typical Alina. If she's not teleporting, she's being lazy, he thought to himself sarcastically. I'm just glad I was able to use Tuatara's legs to run to this boat more quickly. Now I can get back to the beach and help her out.

The Scout's legs shimmered and turned into ones resembling Rayleigh's and he leapt high in the air, sailing toward the shore. He made a small crater on impact and smiled over at the stand-in headmistress of the Academy. "You already missed out on a boat, Alina. Now hurry up before you miss out on a chance to really take your anger out on these guys."

The ice spread like an explosion -- within seconds, the majority of the area between the land and the boat was covered in a sturdy layer of ice. "It should be sturdy enough to battle on, if you need to." Alina announced. "But then again, no guarantees," she added quickly.

You already missed out on a boat, Alina. Now hurry up before you miss out on a chance to really take your anger out on these guys.

"Well, that was efficient." Alina applauded as the scout landed with a thud. Pulling him aside, she asked, "Hey. How was the resistance on the other boat? I have a really bad feeling about this, especially since you cleared them out so quickly." Meanwhile, her amulet glowed with energy, and the girl's appearance shifted. Green scales appeared in a dress-like form, her tights, skirt, and hair turned pale green, and her eyes shifted to a scarlet shade. Her ears elongated and formed into two horns high on her head.

~

Tami followed Sarcus and Max onto the ice. The magic Lydia cast on them seemed to make them much faster and light-footed than what she was used to, presumably to help keep the ice intact.

~

Grace glanced around hurriedly for a partner. Everyone seemed to be finding partners, and there were hardly any people left onshore. After a minute or so, she gave up and dashed off on the ice. After a moment of sprinting, she managed to catch up to some more familiar faces, Sarcus, Max, and Tami. "Uh, hey, do you mind if I join you?" she asked, slightly breathless.

Sonny looked thoughtful for a moment. "It was light. Only a couple dozen henchmen, and no one that could take more than one hit from me." He then looked out on the water, sighing. "I really need to train Maverick more. Having a Staraptor's vision would be extremely helpful right now." He then looked back at Alina. "I haven't seen you in battle dress in some time. I have to say, it's as impressive as ever." Sonny blushed lightly at the last comment. "What do you need me to do?"

It was light. Only a couple dozen henchmen, and no one that could take more than one hit from me.

"Great. Just great." Alina replied, her brow furrowed in thought. She completely ignored the rest of Sonny's statement. "Im no master tactician like Emerald, but it sounds like you only took on their backup forces. Meaning most likely, the forces taking on the boat are stronger, but likely also less in number. Did the boat you take on seem extremely empty, as they could possibly fit more than twice the amount of opposition? If so, then its likely there's more backup on the way there."

Sonny blanched. "I'm an idiot. Of course that would be the case!" He then looked with concern toward the boat the students were assaulting. "Should we get over there and help the students?"

"And what are you waiting for? Let's move!" Taking advantage of Giwira's speed, the girl galloped off, trying to close the distance between herself and the students. Most of them were approaching the boat by now. Best case scenario, Sonny just completely overpowered them. Worst case scenario, the majority of the forces are on the move.

Sonny grinned and shook his head as Alina took off. Better stay close behind. His deerlike legs allowed him to bound forward, quickly making up the distance between himself and the students with huge leaps. He grinned once more as he saw that he had been completely outpaced by Alina. Girl's quick, I'll give her that.

Hearing thuds everywhere, and noticing the guard ahead of him look about stirring, he feared detection very greatly as he heard another person coming from the other side of the hall and hid between the 2 boxes hoping he wouldn't be seen before he could get a reply about his next move. and frantically tried to get a weak psychic signal to at least anyone.

"H-hello? I'm in a dangerous spot here! Anyone! Contact! There's a guy ahead of me stirring about because of the noise, and another one coming to inspect with him! If they close in on me... Listen, if they see me I'm screwed! How should I advance?"

(???) "Gah! Speed it up, you imbeciles! We must get that sky shard back IMMEDIATELY!"

Down in the storage holds of the ship, three grunts hurried around, packing and unpacking crates messily. Two more stood guard at the only door.

"S-so sorry boss!" replied one of the grunts. "We're working as fast as we can sir!" Whirling around to check another crate, the grunt accidentally knocked a crate of lum berries down, sending the round fruit rolling.

(???) "You clumsy oaf. Every moment we risk being discovered. And yet, you make such a racket?! We must recover what have been stolen from us, or else Commander Storm will banish us at best, kill us at worst! I want that Sky Shard back in my hand, and this ship and its passengers floating on the waves by sundown!"

"Shikki did ya get all of that?" Jade asked her partner as they hidden away ease dropping on the group, "Seems like there are some criminals aboard that ship over there." She pointed to the ship with a large ice trail leading up to it. Shikki nodded as she examined the boat. "If we don't hurry there leave, and that'll be no fun~" She said in a cute little voice, "and it would be a sham if a mysterious girl and a frog decided that they would enter into the ship, and maybe take down some people. Maybe they posed as students, or maybe they are students or maybe hiding in the bushes here and acting all suspicious will give us away. Though what if there was nothing to give away in the first place..." Jade went on a ramble in her cute as Shikki was sitting right by her, eventually she slapped the girl on the head to shut her up. "Awe, that wasn't very nice," Her voice suddenly changed to a more serious tone, "Anyways we should try to enter the boat now, seeing as how everyone is doing so as well." With that said they got up from the bushes, to the shore, and onto the ice path which the proceeded to join the people entering the boat.

Jake was surprised when he saw the two men move into position beside some crates, in the room just ahead of him, behind said crates he overheard a conversation involving what sounded like a "sky shard"...

Deep within his mind it rang a bell, but he was lost as to where that would be from...

He quit trying to get any sort of transmission, and simply decided he'd he to work on his own terms.

"Now it's time to think logically... Guards, loud voices, and..."

He stopped as he saw lum berries come rolling by, which he swiped up an armful of and chewed down on one happily before thinking seriously again.

"... And they're talking about something important... Yep, should go there!"

He looked through a small hole in the crate at the two men standing at the door... "It would be foolish to take them on... Two fully grown men would be exceptionally hard to take on, plus it would create a ruckus, ensuring capture. Not good. If he threw a lum berry to make noise... No they'd see it..."

He itched his brain for a plan, seeing as if he left his spot the two men would see him... He put his hand on his combat knife, but shook his head and let go, there weren't many options...

"Ah! Right! Trickery is the thing I'm best at, let's play that game!"

He turned to his Zorua, Mirage, and spoke of a plan involving its power of illusion,

"Alright listen up, you're going to transform to a form similar to me, and make a run down the hall, the men will chase you! So make sure you find your way back here as soon as you lose them."

The Zorua nodded its head with pride, took a deep breath, and spun in a purple vortex, moments later looking exactly like Jake.

"Spot on! Now run for it!"

Jake threw a berry to get the men's attention and the two guards turned to see Zorua-Jake spanking his butt at them and sticking out his tongue before running away with the two men shortly behind.

"I hope you're safe out there bud... Alright, moving on... It's time!"

The boy and his pokemon crept into the room quietly positioning themselves in a dark area of the room behind some boxes, and looked up to see some men working at a few crates, clearly looking intently for something while packing the crates at a very pushed pace.

He noticed a strange person yelling at them and felt a powerful vibe come from the unidentified person... Clearly dangerous... He was considering something to do in this situation... He could use his pokemon to annoy the grunts at work and take the important shard while they were distracted... But the terrifying person would most obviously see him.

However... When he looked at one of the men he saw a very familiar face... It... Couldn't have been...

It was... No doubt... One of the men at work, very silent and quick about himself, was without a doubt... Mark.

(Conspiracy! : 0)

However he denied it, it had to be him... He was very surprised when Mark opened a crate revealing a stone for all to see that the grunts seemed to be interested in.

"That must be the whosawat shard they were talking about! Boys, get in the there and distract them while I grab the shard! We gotta go!"

His houndour, sneasel, Riolu, and Deino rushed out accordingly making loud noise and hitting the person holding the shard while Jake rushed out, grabbing the shard as it fell and waved goodbye tauntingly to everyone in the room. He knew deep within his heart he was most definently screwed. The grunts had began to chase him, and Jake made a straight bolt for the door pokemon in tow, throwing berries behind him to do the old slip on the marbles trick incase he had any pursuers to hopefully slow them, as he ran out the door, he noticed his Zorua bolt around the corner and hop into his backpack, but could hear running coming from the other end, he hadn't lost the two guards! Jake jumped out into the hole in the wall, landing on thick ice, and crashing through it into the water...

Feeling loss of conscience, he was losing grip on the shard and his pokemon. But after a minute he felt a very strong slam on his back, turning to see a blurry blue figure in the shape of a torpedo bringing him to the surface, and throwing him onto the ice.

He awoke a minute or two later to see his savior still in place, and without a doubt was a sharpedo!

It had apparently taken a like to him, and he did the only thing he could do. he had slowly moved his hand forward, and put it up to the Sharpedo, suspecting a bond.

Surprisingly, the pokemon bit the air after a few moments of calmness, which sent Jake back a bit with terror, but surely enough, it was kidding just to scare him.

He knew he'd have to make a stop at home to deposit some of these pokemon as soon as he could, taking care of more than 4 pokemon was a lot to handle, so he had to get rid of 2 when he arrived home... He put the Sharpedo's ball in whatever space he had left, and noticed something.

The shard was gone!

Looking through the ice, he saw a faint glimmer at the bottom...

"!" "ARE YOU KIDDING!?"

He thought for a moment before he had his big lightbulb, he sent out Sharpedo, sitting on its back, and he took a deep breath, asking it to dive down.

At the bottom a few moments later he saw undersea pokemon everywhere, but he couldn't waste a moment, he grabbed the crystal and they went back up.

He placed the shard

Upon the ice next to his backpack, and waved goodbye to his new friend, hoping he could come to see it again one day.

He dare not re-enter the ship remembering what he'd seen... And awaited someone to arrive to hopefully take the shard off his hands first.

  • 2 weeks later...

Grace, Sarcus, Tami, and co.

Grace swung her legs over the metal railing on the deck. The ice had crept up the side of the ship as well, so it wasnt much of a difficult time. Other than the fact that the door to the stairs down was blasted off its hinges, the deck looked relatively peaceful. She peeked in, but it was too dark to see anything. On the contrary, heavy footsteps echoed up the stairs without much muffling. She beckoned to the others as she started down the stairs. Peering out of the stairwell, she saw four grunts patrolling the halls, though no other visible signs of life were present. Each one of the six doors was blasted off its hinges like the last, and puddles of water sat every couple feet or so. The only room she could see was heavily demolished, as if not only a scuffle, but a high-level battle took place.
~~~
Jake and co.
"Gyarados!" the man identified as the group's boss called. A large, serpentine, water dragon appeared and landed in the water in front of Jake. Its trainer followed, leaping onto the gyarados's back. Two more grunts exited flanking their leader on a floatzel and a starmie.
(???) "Hey. I'll give you a deal. Hand over that shard there, and I'll let you and whatever's left of your friends go free. If not, well, I'll just say there's no way you'll refuse my offer."
~~~
Alina and Jory

Alina skidded to a stop several feet away from the hull, giving some time for Jory to catch up. The roar of a gyarados made her tense up, even though she had every advantage over it. She tapped her amulet twice, once to shift back into her fully human form and again to send out Thunder. "Jory. Stay close," she ordered, her expression cold as the ice she was walking on. With Thunder trotting by her side, she skirted around the ship to where Jake sat, looking a bit terrified.

"Hey. I'll give you a deal. Hand over that shard there, and I'll let you and whatever's left of your friends go free. If not, well, I'll just say there's no way you'll refuse my offer."

Alina's eyes narrowed. That shard the man, no, Kyle was his name, pointed at was none other than the sky shard, the ancient relic that summoned Latios. What's the sky shard doing here? I thought it was long gone, destroyed when the sea temple collapsed.

*flashback*

(I'll post this later, mom's buging me to eat. Not story related, just bg info)

*flashback end*

Something's strange about it, it doesnt give off as much sparkle as I remember it to, and neither does it give off that magic energy as most relics do. Something about it just doesnt seem right.

"Never," Alina snarled, and pressed her hand to Thunder's flank. The two forms shimmered, and merged into one. Alina's hair paled to white, her ears lengthened, and her outfit's colors changed into the black and white lightning stripes of a zebstrika. Two lightning-shaped horns protruded from her forehead, and within seconds, they were crackling with electricity, ready to fire off a thunderbolt at a moment's notice. Even when she wasn't sure if it was the real thing, she couldn't let the relic fall into enemy hands.

Sonny circled around the ship, touching his amulet as he went. His form began to shift, his antlers and fur fading to be replaced by a black hood and a long yellow tail with orange rings on it. His hands crackled with electricity as he stood behind Alina, glaring menacingly at Kyle. Not this guy again, he thought to himself as he prepared to fight. But what's that Shard doing here?

Just a bit shocked at all the hoopla, Jake jumped up a bit as the gyrados roared and backed up slowly as the two grunts closed in.

"Uhh... Uhmm... Yeah that's nice that you have a big scary gyrados and the scary look and all... But uh... Ehehe... It's funny see I just uh... Was uhmm..."

He looked down at the shard and remembered that this WAS the mission in his very hands. He couldn't dare give it up, but it looked to be yhat he was outnumbered and not in the greatest position either.

"Ok guys listen. I went through the work to uhh... (Trying to soften the impact of the sentence) borrow this for a minute... To just... Maybe... Perhaps... Possibly... Give it to... Alina?...

: D............. -,-' Not amused I see?..."

He stuffed the shard in his backpack, closed it up and threw a hoop over his right shoulder.

"Alright, I'll set it straight, you'll have to drag me kicking and screaming to get this from me, got it?"

Jake could tell that It was pretty obvious they would be ok with that, and he backed up to the wall of the ship getting ready for the worst moment of his life... That is if he would still have one... He turned to his pokemon and gave them the straight truth,

"It was a nice run, boys... But I think we've met the cliff..."

(!) he turned as he heard a sound coming over the ice! And it was the stuff of miracles! he gave thanks to God as many times as he could before he ran out of breath as he saw Alina and Sonny approach! He felt the great rise of confidence in his chest as they came looking ready for a scrap.

"Wow, I can't thank you guys enough for this! Now let's show this bunch who's boss, huh? I'll get that starmie! Easy target for a team like mine!"

He was about to command his Deino, Z, to attack the Starmie, considering it was the ultimate counter for his opponent, but before he could he was cut off as his new friend Sharpedo burst a hole through the ice and landed in the water with a splash.

"Ok... Fair enough then... Thanks for coming out Sharpedo! I can't thank you enough for the help buddy!"

He turned to Sonny and Alina accordingly with a nod and an assuring firey smirk,

"You guys ready to kick some Team Shadow tail?"

  • 1 month later...

Jory, Jake, and co.

"You guys ready to kick some Team Shadow tail?"

"Sure," Alina said with a grin. She turned around, just in time to notice the floatzel launch an aqua jet at her. Enveloping herself in flames, Alina charged off and rammed into the floatzel. Water obviously overpowered fire, and she was sent skidding back on the ice, melting it quite a bit. But instead of wincing in pain, as one might expect, Alina's grin only widened. She darted across the ice, her speed boosted by the flame charge, and let off a thunderbolt right behind the gyarados.

Kyle and his gyarados made no move, instead taking the thunderbolt head-on. It appeared to take some damage, but much less as a thunderbolt should have done. "Nice move, princess," he taunted. "Last time I met you, you were beating the crap out of me. Don't tell me you were just snoozing when your sister did all the administrative work and stuff. But I've been out training every day." His gyarados spat out the remains of a wacan berry as a wicked smile grew on his face. "Gyarados, Dragon Dance!" Glowing red energy appeared around the sea serpent pokemon as it lifted out of the water and whipped its body around in a mystical dance. "Now, Aqua tail!"

Alina's body shone with a white glow before she flipped over the water-infused tail. She launched off the ice, faster than ever before(agility), and slammed her fist into Kyle's shoulder. Damn. Her speed made her moves a bit more inaccurate, but the the inertia from her speed transferred into her punch, knocking the man off his mount. Before either pokemon or trainer could react, she'd fired off another thunderbolt at the gyarados, and landed lightly on her feet.

~

Grace, Sarcus, and co.

"Heaaads up!" Grace shouted as she ran down the corridor. "Angel, dragon tail!" she called as a poliwhirl came rushing at her. Angel's aim was a bit off though, and she only succeeded in knocking the poliwhirl's stubby legs out, letting it roll past her without taking much damage. The rest of the grunts now had their pokemon out, a marshtomp, chatot, and azumarill. They turned their attention to Grace, not noticing the three students that snuck past them. "Guardian, iron head on the azumarill." She snapped her fingers, then pointed toward the marshtomp, commanding Sakura to use magical leaf. Tami, who was around the corner with her bayleef, understood the signal too. "Petal, use magical leaf too," she whispered to the bayleef.

Sonny grinned as the first blows were exchanged. He quickly leapt into the air and landed in front of Kyle, cutting off the Team Shadow member's escape. Sonny pushed off the ice, his legs shattering the frozen water as he sped toward his opponent. He swung hard Thunderpunch at the man, hoping he'd go down quickly.

Jake stood in awe jaw dropped as he watched Alina fight, he was rather impressed with her skill.

"That's... Impressive... I'm not even close to a level like that... Did she even feel that blow?"

However he took a minute to laugh when the mysterious man called her princess. He couldn't pass that opportunity.

In fact he'd been paying so much attention he ignored the fact that the starmie was slowly creeping up to attack him. Sharpedo repeatedly tried to catch Jake's attention, but to no avail. So he did the only thing that made sense.

He opened up, and bit Jake's leg.

His eyes flipped open like shutters and nearly jumped a good couple feet in the air with a jolt.

"YOWWW! Sharpedo! why the heck would you do that!? Do you really just hate me that much!? Even then that wasn't neccesary. Now we have to help Alin-!"

He'd been blown away by a hydro pump before he could finish his sentence. Obviously, he wasn't too happy about that...

After sliding on the ice for quite a far distance, he was able to get back up and start running back.

Well it would seem as though Jake wasn't having the best day. Now the enemy floatzel hit him in the side with a hydro pump. After some more skidding way, he stood.

Just to be hit with the Starmie's hydro pump, sent sliding across the ice again.

"Ok. That is REALLY. Getting on my nerves... Sharpedo! Come on! Help me back over there with Aqua jet!"

The sharpedo burst from the ice below him and Jake hopped on his back, dashing just above the ground back into the fight.

"alright let's finish off this ride with a crash landing! Hit that starmie!"

Jake hopped off Sharpedo just before it slammed into Starmie, and did a bit of a roll sideways to hopefully not hurt himself.

The starmie definently was hurt, but not by much. It would take a crunch to down this sucker.

The starmie retaliated with a rapid spin, throwing Sharpedo elsewhere.

"That thing's fast. How can I beat speed like that!?"

Suddenly Sharpedo seemed to be... More ready.

With a giant burst of speed, he dashed forward through the water to use a crunch attack, finishing off the Starmie.

"That's speed boost! Wow that's a cool abilit-

Bam. Whacked with a hydro pump from Floatzel.

"That. Is so. ANNOYING! Sharpedo! Use crunch!"

Sharpedo easily outsped the floatzel, and landed a strong crunch, doing moderate damage, but it wasn't long before the floatzel readied it's attack. It got into a stance and began twirling it's tails.

"Razor wind! Quick sharpedo finish it off with crunch before you get knocked out!"

With another newfound burst of speed, sharpedo launched forward and knocked out the Floatzel with the second crunch, tossing it aside.

"Alina! How do do we solve the big problem, eh? That gyrados looks like it's ready for something big!"

Alina flipped to avoid some stray hydro pumps, then froze the water again. This isn't working. Crackling electricity floated through the air around her as her body became encased in glowing yellow energy. Her clothes merged with her skin, her hands became hooves as she fully changed to zebstrika form. Breaking out into a full gallop, she rammed herself headfirst into the gyrados, making it dissipate. Seconds later, the real roaring gyrados popped out of the water, and shot several hydro pumps out - one at each of the three poke-people.

"Nice work Sharpedo! We beat them eh?"

Suddenly he heard a crash among all the fighting

"That's weird! I really could swear I heard something coming from behind us- WOW OK THATS A GYRADOS!"

He rolled sideways, barely avoiding the strike, and became serious again almost instantly.

"Sharpedo, rush that sucker and use crunch!"
