"Good to see I'm useful for something... Just be careful not to let me rub off on you too much!"

Mark laughed from where he was watching the battle, he turned to a fellow audience member

(Mark) "taught him everything he knows"

Just as the two trainers stared so did the two pokemon.

They both intently watched each other's moves.

Suddenly Jake broke the silence.

"I taught my Riolu the martial art of military CQC, a little bit of every martial art put together. I'd say it looks mostly like Judo...

What'd you teach your Mienfoo, it sure does look like it's broke a few piles of bricks in its day to be able to use such an efficient rock smash..."

(Mark)"CQC, same thing I taught Jake... Man I rubbed off on him like a chocolate cake to a kid'a face..."

"Mienfoo knows a custom art, taught by myself and her original owner and only know by our family's, if you really must know, but of course Mienfoo's are born to have learned Kung fu."

"Now then, as I see you're not going to make a move then I will. Hiyori, if you'd please show this gentleman your real power by doing the same move as before."

The Mienfoo kicked up one of the near by rocks with ease and then jumped up in the air to get at a perfect angle with the Riolu and forced it's power into the side of the rock launching high speed rock shards down to the Riolu Pokemon

"Riolu! Focus Energy! Now!"

The Riolu focused extremely hard and time seemed to slow down for him.

He force palmed the first few rocks in the incoming flurry and kicked a few others, as Riolu completed a spin kick it seemed he was out of options, Riolu acted on his own common sense and slammed the ground with a force palm, then proceeded to spin kick the rock to fly towards the Mienfoo and it defended Soul against most of the rocks, a few that he hadn't been able to stop due to the time consuming process of getting that rock up from the ground had managed to scratch his face.

When Soul finally calmed himself drops of blood began to fall from his cheek.

As the rock that countered a few of the shots Hiyori took headed toward her she could only try and block it by using her leg to try and change it's direction of force. The rock came at a high speed so it was hard to do but was still done with a cost of another minor injury to the Mienfoo.

"Grate job Hiyori, you can still do this. Now quickly rush at the Riolu with full force and use Force Palm"

The Mienfoo rushed at high speed towards the Riolu while building up its force in both palms and ready to strike anything

"Riolu! Outspeed it with a quick attack and give it a Force palm to remember!"

Riolu was already charged and ready from returning to it's stance after launching the rock at the Mienfoo.

Riolu rushed at Mienfoo much faster than Zorua had when he used quick attack, it was clear that Riolu was far more trained than Zorua had been.

Riolu leapt from side to side in it's dash to prepare for anything, a CQC grab-and-flip counterattack on it's mind if anything went wrong. Both the pokemon's hands ablaze with energy it was merely up to resistance or a split second of luck to decide who would win this clash.

Both fighting types ran towards each other at full speed, however Riolu is faster for it has a quick attack engaged.

As soon as the Mienfoo saw how fast Riolu was it quickly slid to slow down as it got ready to come in contact with Riolu.

As the rushing Riolu charged at the Mienfoo with one hand ready it also got ready to come into contact.

Both Pokemon were less than a foot away from each other when one of Mienfoo's hands came into contact with the Riolu it quickly raised it's other one to try and hit Riolu's stomach. However the Riolu reacted to the last part quick enough to block it with it's other hand. Both Pokemon looked at each other with amusement as they both knew what would come next.

The Force of the Riolu and Mienfoo combined and exploded. Mienfoo was shot further into the ground while Riolu was sent flying back to Jake. Both Pokemon have been Knocked Out

"You did very well Hiyori, I'm proud that you made it that far. Bubbles ma boy, you're up next, let's have some fun with this now."

Aqua shouted as he threw out a Frogadire and called back the Mienfoo.

"Alright, I have two pokemon left to pick and I'm fighting a water and dark type...

Whisper! Let's move!"

The sneasel dashed onto the field at amazing speeds, leaving a trail of ice as it ran.

It too was eager to battle.

Z and Demon sat behind Jake in determination, wondering which one of them Jake would pick if Whisper was knocked out...

"Bubbles, if you're ready then go for a scald. Show this guy how powerful boiling water can be!"

The Frogadire took a deep breath then opened its mouth to spray boiling hot water not only at the opponent's Sneasel but also all over the battle field.

(Protean activated, Frogadier's type did not change)

(Thoughts)

Maybe it's time for some scientific attacks...

"Whisper! Hail!"

The pokemon absorbed the moisture from the hot area around it, and used it to cause an indoor hailstorm above the feild, the icy pellets hit frogadier's head, and hit the ground.

The intense heat coming into contact with the ice at such a high rate caused a freeze dry, a thick mist began to cover the field.

"Dry ice mist! Didn't expect that one did you?"

As the mist rose, Jake's smiling sneasel disappeared, before it left view however, it unsheathed it's claws and it now gave a far more terrifying smile...

A dark figure was sighted repeatedly zooming around in the mist, eventually it stopped showing up...

"Now Sneasel power-up-punch!"

From behind Frogadier the speeding figure returned and banged it on the head with hard fists.

"That fighting type attack should've gave it a daze, and now Whisper physical attacks will hurt just a little bit more... That Protean ability shouldn't be a problem for the next move I'm packing!"

"Well, the surprises just keep coming now don't they. Looks like I need to do a little more before I do this."

"Bubbles hurry up and hit him with a Power-up Punch as well! Don't worry about not being able to see it, all you need is sound so focus on that."

The Frogadier closed its eyes as it started to listen for the faintest sound in the hail. As soon as it herd the slight tap of The Sneasel's claws on the ground along with it's breathing, it dashed atop the rocks and landed a very powerful hit with a Power-up Punch also raising it's attack power slightly and changing its type to fighting.

"Now Bubbles, hurry up and come closer to me to set up your substitute!"

The Frogadier hurried back towards its trainer.

"With this I just might be able to pull it off although my plans have been altered a slight bit"

"Whisper! Revenge time! And make sure to tiptoe from now on! That substitute is an issue, however the frogadier sacrificed a considerable amount of health to use that! Now that this frogadier is fighting type any ice moves will be normally effective!

By using your avalanche attack you can hit the frogadier for double damage, and since your ice type you can throw an extra amount of power in there!

We're looking at a huge amount of power!

The sneasel jumped all about and found it's grip on some rocks, now Ice cold. Sneasel kicked them down onto the substitutes head and silently crept off into the fog.

As the substitute faded Frogadier was once again visible.

"Alrighty now Bubbles. First we need to get rid of this fog and hail, so use scald and let it rain boiling water over the field again!"

Frogadier shot boiling hot water from its mouth aimed up to heat up the room and turning the hail into rain and the cold ground started to steam as the room became like a sauna along with some hot drops of water now bothering the Sneasel.

"Now Bubbles, finish off that Sneasel with a quick attack to remember!"

(Protean turned Frogadier back into a Water Type(One power-up punch from before would have brought a Sneasel down to less than 13% and because of the attack boost Frogadier got of course the quick attack would finish it off, even without the boost, Battle simulators for the win!))

The sneasel took a huge blow to the stomach, it's eyes widened and it's mouth opened wide,

It fell to the floor in pain sheathing it's claws. Before it fainted, it looked up at the frogadier, checking it out.

It winked and gave a small smirk before hitting the floor unconscious.

Jake grabbed his Sneasel, Whisper, and set it next to his Zorua, and his Riolu, and he hid a single tear.

"I've had enough of your foolish games!..."

Jake looked to his two remaining friends, the only ones who could win this.

Z and Demon

This last choice could cost him the victory...

"Z... Let's go forth and finish this..."

The small Deino raised it's head in anticipation, all it's daydreaming had finally come true, it exploded with excitement and ran onto the battlefield at a... Surprising speed..."

((Like it ran faster than Sneasel onto the field leaving a trail of dust behind it XD))

The Deino's anticipation suddenly disappeared as it felt the burning heat of water under it's feet.

It's smile slowly lowered...

It's head drooped...

It looked down attempting to see past the shag of hair and saw it's feet sizzling on the ground.

It looked up very slowly at the opposing frogadier

Very slowly, almost creepily, with a huge frown on it's face... It seemed Deino knew this was Bubble's doing...

The Deino shook with rage...

It Screeched loudly and began to slam it's head about destroying rocks and leaving huge identions in the floor.

It spouted flames everywhere, making rocks melt.

The Deino calmed itself... It sat still and didn't do anything... At all...

It awaited a movement from Bubbles, not making a single sound.

"Foolish games?" Aqua questioned. "Call it what you want but right now I can not bother myself with your snide comments."

"Alright, now then, that thing is a dark and dragon type... if only I kept that ice beam.. oh well, we can still do this with Power-Up Punch. Bubbles already has one boot from it, but even so it should still take two more hits to knock that thing out while I am also near that rang depending on what tricks he has up his sleeve."

"Alrighty now Bubbles, stay at a distance and use Scald, aim for its chest and burn it with your powerful water type attacks!"

The Frogadier backed away from centre field and built up a lot of water in its mouth and boiled it at a fast rate, it then blasted the Scald attack towards the Deino and landed a powerful, but not very effective, hit on the dragon. The Deino also seemed to have a slight burn where the Scald had hit it.

((After typing all this out I went to see how I could kill this thing by taking less than 50% of damage. Turns out it's a one hit kill from where it is now with a power-up punch at +1 attack. But I still have to wait and see for what you have in store for us.))

"Deino, don't take that, we've had enough of our friends fall today."

Z knew Jake was right, and that it had to avenge it's fallen teammates.

While the Frogadier continued attempting to worsen the burn it had, the dragon type resiliency took it.

As rage overtook it, Z prepared for an attack.

"Now Z! Use!---"

The Deino, instead of listening to Jake, rushed at top speed, engulfed in anger, slamming into the Frogadier's stomach, just as it did to Sneasel, and re-payed the Scolding hot water, with an incineration attack to the chest.

As Aqua stared at the Deino with a plane face he knew that this would be just a more powerful version of Zorua.

"Bubbles, now that he is in close we can finish this! Now go for Power-up Punch."

The Frogadier quickly spun onto the top of the Deino's head and punched it with some power. The Deino fell to the ground but was still able to get back up, and now that Frogadier was a fighting type the hot rain was enough to knock it out, while the Deino still barley able to stand.

"...Looks like I underestimated the power of that Deino. That was amazing though, I honestly didn't think we would get this far into the battle. You did a good job Bubbles."

As Aqua was about to step onto the battle field to recover his Frogadier, Deino stumbled and fell to the ground after being hit by a boosted Power-up Punch and damaged by a burn, and thus fainted ending off Jake's and Aqua's last Pokemon in a tie.

"Well, looks like the battle is over now. That was unexpected, but I guess a tie is a tie, right Jake?"

Jake looked out to the field plainly before smiling and beginning to laugh,

(Happy mood swing)

"Tie is a tie! Look at you! Our first battle, and we tie!"

Jake patted him on the back, gave him a nod, and picked up his Deino, Jake grabbed his special set of dog tags and placed them around Deino to celebrate.

Jake almost forgot about a certain someone.

"Alina?... Hello? You ok over there? You sure know how to stare!"

"Kind of hard to believe that I tied in that battle. I should have lost but I guess that my mind is better than what I thought it was, that or my pokemon really are amazing."

Aqua Continued to think to himself as he walked over to the stands to get ready to watch the next battle.

"Perhaps I should step out of the shadows of the past for once... who knows, it just may lead to a good new life... but I will never forget or forgive that day..."

Jake gave Aqua his pose, he stuck out his hands at him, said aiming, and then releasing then to the sides opened, he smiled and gave him another nod of respect, he then walked over to Mark in satisfaction.

(Mark) that was some nice work out there!

(Jake) thanks man, I tried!

(Mark) alright, c'mon, take a seat, here comes the next match!

Sarcus waved Absolution forward, then tossed out two balls quickly, releasing Gallant and Metang. I'm right behind you, he sent to them. He simply received feelings of determination as a reply. Metang and Gallant. Use your superior defenses to protect Absolution while he takes out the enemies. Absolution, you'll need to coordinate with these two in order to pull this off. Got it? The Absol glanced back at him and nodded. Sarcus nodded back at him, then gave his opponent a cool gaze. If he thinks that I'm confident, one of two things will happen. He'll either get nervous, or overconfident for thinking I'm full of myself. The first is preferable, since the second one might make him a bit more aggressive than I want. Sarcus thought of something. Alina, he set. Are Trainers allowed to interfere beyond calling orders?

As Lionel saw the look Sarcus gave him after calling forth an Absol, Gallade and Metang, he became even more nervous. His heart was beating quick. I really need to use my strategy on this one... He looked down and saw that Ms. Mime looked back at Sarcus, full of confidence. "A-alright, Ms. Mime, y-you can go!" Then Lionel took out his two other Poké Balls. Tristan... Rebel... I'm counting on you two. He threw the Poké Balls, revealing an Aipom and a Scraggy. As Rebel entered the battlefield, she glared at the Absol and Gallade to lower their Attack right of the bat, but Metang seemed to be unaffected. This battle will be really hard... Sarcus' Pokémon are better in both terms of level and stats... But I can't give up.

"Tristan, u-use F-Fake Out on t-that A-Absol!" Tristan dashed forward at a tremendous speed, evaded Gallade and Metang, and hit the Absol, dealing only little damage but stopping him from attacking the next turn. "N-now, Rebel, B-Bulk Up! And you use R-Reflect, Ms. Mime!" As Rebel increased his Attack and Defense stats by bulking herself up, and Ms. Mime put up Reflect to halve the damage done by physical attacks.

That Intimidate is going to cause me some issues, but I should be all right. He turned his attention to each of his team members. Metang, hit that Aipom with Hammer Arm now that it's close. Metang struck with frightful force at the Normal-type Pokemon, one of the metallic arms crashing down from over the Aipom's head. Gallant, stay close to Absolution and protect him. When he recovers, Fling him at the Scraggy. The Absol, still a bit dazed, gave his trainer an incredulous look. When that happens, you'll use Play Rough on the Scraggy. Metang, once that happens, close with Bullet Punch and guard Absolution.

Alina, Are Trainers allowed to interfere beyond calling orders?

"Yes, this is meant to be more like what you would experience actually fighting out of school. Note that this is not a test of your physical abilities however," Alina replied back.

Sarcus grinned evilly. Excellent, he thought to himself. He began focusing his energy, using the skills he had developed in psychic class to enhance the speed at which his relatively slow Pokemon moved. Better keep it subtle, for now.

((Think of it as the equivalent of a Tailwind.))
