Pokemon Location Guide V2

ShatteredSkys

Question

Fifth gen and Sixth gen don't fit in the post so they will be posted two posts down.

Since Nickaboo left for Mexico the Pokemon Location guide has fallen behind and we have no real way of updating it. So here's V2 of the pokemon location guide created so we can have an up to date guide for the locations of the pokemon in reborn.

FIRST GEN

SECOND GEN

THIRD GEN

FOURTH GEN

I'm not saying that Talonflame is as broken in game as it is in competitive but it does still possess an amazing dual stab by level up combined with blistering speed. The only other pokemon that I can think of in the current release with as good a dual stab (off the top of my head) by level up are Blaziken, Infernape, and Heracross. All three of these are amongst the best pokemon in the game at the current point in time, no debate. Talonflame doesn't hit quite as hard as the other 3 but it is faster than all of them sans Blaziken after a turn, and also has roost by level up. It's plenty good from my point of view.

Regardless this isn't the place to be debating Talonflame's worth. If you want to make a case for why you think Talonflame should be in the current release there are much better ways to do it than cluttering up the back pages of the location guide with something unrelated.

Talonflame is actually pretty bad-to-mediocre in-game, though.

For reference, the XY in-game tier list on Smogon has it listed in C tier. Gale Wings hardly makes a difference in-game because it already outspeeds almost everything in the 0 priority bracket.

I'm guessing you weren't around when sucker punch was broken, if talonflame is in the game everyone would have it because priority flying brave bird and this would crowd out pretty much all other fire and flying types(do people even use flying types now that staraptor and gyrados are gone?) which is something Ame really hates. Also why does the game need priority brave bird? This game is meant to be difficult if you had a poke that could outspeed everything with 120 base power move(if thats not enough slap a flying gem on it) how much of an easier time would you have with bosses like Pulse Abra, Kiki, Samson, etc.

So it sounds like a lot of the Pokemon events have been taken out of the game... should I just start from the earliest episode to ensure I get all of them before they're removed? Is there even a way to get them otherwise? :s

if you want to get all of the removed Pokemon you should start from ep 9 (i think) or you can just wait because they will appear in later episodes.

I would recommend waiting. Off the top of my head the only previously accessible Pokemon that won't be available in 13 is Magikarp. I could be overlooking something so don't hold me to that.

By the way, the events themselves haven't been removed, just changed. Compared to episode 9 there are a lot more early game events now than then.

I know a lot will hate me for this since Ame might be watching but if the event allows Elekid to hold electralizer again then Electivire is still possible to get.

Also hooray because Seadra is in effect but boo for not having Kingdra who is a beast.

Technically no.

Ame can actually alter the random item occurrence per pokemon. Since this is an Event Pokemon, the code for altering that so an Electralizer/Magmorizer won't appear will be easier. Also updated list thanks to Sheep. Baaaah~

It's still better than Altaria imo...on a side note many great Pokemon will appear in ep13, Starly is finally back and Elekid too.

So this is final ? Or will more pokemon be released for this episode ?

Things can change between the Beta and the release of the actual episode.

Normally, pokemons don't get added, but rather, they get axe'd (Like Mienfoo, who's back now)

I'm surprised by the lack of water types considering this is the Surf episode. Aand sad because there's no Scyther and Clauncher :(

Actually, if you look at the Obtainable Pokemon list, you'll see that Sheep and Cow forgot about Clauncher. And Trevenant and it's pre-evolution.

EDIT: Usually, i'd be upset that Sneasel is not IG, but this time - motherf***ing Avalugg and Qwilfish real quick? It's enough for now f* yes

Woe is me for having to use an HM slave for Surf in my Psychic mono because we still have no Water/Psychics. ;A; (I might use Kangaskhan for the role just to have an excuse to use her because she's awesome and I feel guilty for not noticing she was there at first.)

I hope Mienfoo stays this time, on another note. I'm not going to bother getting excited for it this time, on account of last time... but I have high hopes.

Sweet.

One of the Pokemon I really liked was Cubchoo when playing through White, because it was the first pokemon I got off the Dream World, packed with it's nonsense Swift Swim ability, which makes it a "somewhat-not-mediocre" physical attacker on rain teams. (Gen 5 was the beginning of my flirtations with competitive battling, and for what' it's worth, I didn't learn anything aside from how to EV train and how painstaking hatching eggs could be.)

So, YEAH CUBCHOO.

Another thing I like to see is Phantump. I don't use Trevenant for it's intended, wallish purposes either, but one of the neatest looking attacks in X and Y was Phantom Force, the ghost type equivalent of Bounce, Dig, and Fly, that showed it popping up behind the opponent to attack. Always thought this line was pretty cool.

I'm slightly confused about how you can get Magby and elekid but not their fully evolved forms. Shouldn't you just be able to use Link Stones to make them evolve or do you need a special item as well? It worked fine with my Karrablast.

Either way I'm glad Magby is in it now. He was my starter for Pokemon Zeta, the very first pokemon game I played, and one of my favorite mons.

You need the Magmarizer (Magmar) and Electrizer (Electabuzz) equipped on and a Link Stone to make them evolve
