The Soul Candle

Anybody have an idea what the Soul Candle does?
"A spiritual candle. When its flame goes out, somewhere a distant soul will be forever erased."
Funny enough, it can be found in front of Shade's Gym, east of where Corey died.
So now we have Corey's Ring and a Soul Candle. Perhaps we need to gather a group of items up?

With Soul Candle, you can catch Pumpkaboo at the Beryl cemetery. Just talk(?) to pumpkin at the night time
