How do genderless people describe their sexual orientation?

The question is an interesting highlight of the needlessly dichotomised language we use. Naturally there are things like bi- or pan- or whatever, but in terms of only preferring a single binary gender, we're popularly limited to hetero- and homo-, or in other words, opposite or same. This arbitrary pattern of language creates the oddity seen here, which is one example of why viewing everything in terms of a gender binary (this OR that) is problematic.

So it's a good question to ask.

A genderless or non-gender-binary person could potentially be bi or pan, for sure. But they might be just as likely to still maintain an attraction to only a traditional gender, male or female. Although there probably isn't any term like 'boysexual' or 'girlsexual', I would think someone in that category would just say something like 'I like girls,' rather than forcing a traditional "____sexual" label onto it

To quote Saber(Nero) i think it would be something like this "Beautiful boys are good. Beautiful girls are better. My singular preference is beauty!"

so instead of a preference of gender but rather a preference of an idea but knowing me i am probably wrong.

I'm genderqueer and I'm here to answer your questions. Okay. I'm a pansexual since gender doesn't really matter to me, I like males, females and non-binaries. I've seen that many non-binaries are pansexuals or bisexuals but there's some people who refer themselves as androsexuals or gynosexual.

A gynosexual is an anyone who has sexual feelings towards a woman. Derived from the Greek word gyno which means "female/woman" and the Latin word sexualis meaning "relating to sex," the term gynosexual can be useful when describing the sexual orientation of an individual with a non-binary gender identity.

An androsexual is an anyone who has sexual feelings towards a man. Derived from the Greek word andros which means "man" and the Latin word sexualis meaning "relating to sex," the term androsexual can be useful when describing the sexual orientation of an individual with a non-binary gender identity.

Hope this helps.

I asked this same question a while back and elsewhere. The answer I got was pretty much what Amethyst said

And even now, I would still rather state my sexual preferences based upon the other, rather than myself

Eh, you were still right, just not the most right

I still actually prefer the less, erm, fancy(?) way of saying it. Which is unusual for me, I generally prefer to use the fancier(?) term over the normal one, lol

Wait wut... We're not talking about lesbians and gays...

Unknown gender peeps man...

Doesn't that mean... They could male, bi, or straight...

Female,bi, or straight.

Thingy without a gender... No orientation.

But if they don't specify their gender, then how would you know what they are? XD
