ghkdkd
I prefer 10.0 back sprites to 10.5, except for 5th gen ones. Most of 10.5 back sprites look so small and some of them are horrible... I really want to keep 10.0 back sprites
Vinny
Well, sprites have been updated to Gen 5 style right? I (personally) like the sprites this way, cuz you can see the entire pokemon 99% of time (Although i'm pretty sure you can change the back sprites if you take just the 1st - 4th gen pokemon back sprites from episode 10 and put in place of the new ones...) Off topic: I have to say though, the characters back sprite have a major flaw: ... They don't have bags, where do they carry their stuff? ^^
ghkdkd
I tryed copy 10.0 graphic files to 10.5 folder. But position of the sprites changed in the battle scene, so the old pictures get cut.
Tenshine
I think the change was necessary, but to be honest, I don't really care about what the sprites look like that much. I (and I'm sure everyone else too) play reborn for the story, creativity and you know, pure awesomeness. Besides, I think I spend more time staring at the text than the sprites. I always brace myself for them critical hits... so yeah, as long as the sprites aren't colorless, or look like the original red and blue sprites, I'm satisfied. Crimson
i think its better than the old sprites, actually im looking for the animated sprites, did anyone here still have those??
Tempest
If the game supports .gifs you can get the files online. But I doubt there's any for gen 6, and I don't think the game used .gifs for animations.
nemesish
Some of the shinies have their old Ep.10 (bigger) sprites.
Yoshi
The new sprites are way better than the old sprites. I didn't notice until I went back to episode 9. I like to see the whole pokemon not just their huge head. Edited February 12, 2014 by Yoshi
Amphouse
I liked the old sprites better. The Pokémon look so tiny now; did they really look so small in the newer games? But I'm sure I'll get used to it, as the newer Pokémon clearly don't have any old style sprites, it was a necessary change. The male and female symbols actually bother me more; look at them, they're huge! The female one even seems to partially overlap the health bar. It seems off. I'm being kind of nitpicky here though, I know.
Sylvan Nephilim
It is possible to make X/Y style sprites. Here's a website which has many front sprites and back sprites. In addition, a cracker named Smealum has discovered how to export the models and textures of X/Y into Blender and seems to be working on a converter for the models so that you can get them yourself. He has also posted pictures of shiny Zygarde and Xerneas, their colour schemes at least.

They won't be usable for our purposes.
Sylvan Nephilim
Those are gifs, not 3D render models. The real problem is that those people in particular haven't made one of every Pokemon. Edited February 14, 2014 by RumbleTTT
Tempest
They're .gif images of the 3D models from the game. Not the pixel art based sprites that Reborn uses, hence, not usable for the game.
Sylvan Nephilim
They're both made of pixels and they're both art. They're not terribly different.
Tempest
They're not sprites though. All Reborn uses is sprites. Those are animated renderings. They will not work.
Amphouse
Ah I see, just downloaded 10.5 and the symbols indeed look normal in mine, so no problem.

Sylvan Nephilim
They're not sprites though. All Reborn uses is sprites. Those are animated renderings. They will not work. Technically they are sprites. A sprite is defined as "a computer graphic that may be moved on-screen and otherwise manipulated as a single entity". They definitely meet that definition. Tempest
The technical definition, yes. Ask anyone though, those are not sprites. Either way, this has become a pointless argument.
Sylvan Nephilim
It's not an argument. It's just clarification. I mean, calling it an argument seems kind of... pessimistic. EDIT: PokeAimMD calls them sprites. Vindication! Here's a link to a video of a Pokemon simulator using that kind of sprite. It looks okay, and even better it probably means someone's assembled one for every Pokemon. Edited February 15, 2014 by RumbleTTT

Crimson
you can still use the old sprites if you want just copy the battlers folder of your 10.0 version and paste it to the 10.

Tempest
Thera is a way to reposition them using Pokemon Essentials, but it's fairly technical to do so.
