My art-fu is not incredibly strong, which is why I had Will draw the E10 banner. He hasn't been around however, so I had to do this one myself. After E11 is released, if someone wants to work with me on a banner for E12, I would love the help. However, I'm not sure what this "weeaboo vibe" thing is about. Poking around a bit, the popular denotation for 'weeaboo' seems to be one who is obsessed with Japanese culture. If our banner was bursting with pocky and mochi and the Japanese flag in the background and flavour text reading ”おはよう、民あーさん！！！ 用こそ！！！＝＾。＾＝” ... then I could see it giving off a weeaboo vibe. But-- and correct me if I'm wrong-- are we not all here to expand on the experience of a popular Japanese video game series? I feel like alluding to its art style is only natural. Sun Posted February 16, 2014 Author Share Posted February 16, 2014 i was suggested to redraw, so i did. only the line work was done cause im not gonna actually go through doing the effects, and coloring because i really dont want to do all that for something i wasnt obliged to do. alos i have no idea what this character is wearing so i gave her some shoulder poof things cause thats what it looked like in the banner. excuse the huge 'tealsun' thing across it. i didnt want anyone to use it with out permission, whether it be here or somewhere else. and apologies on using 'weeaboo', honestly i was confused if i was using that right or wrong, or both. its just the huge anime eyes and pentagon-ish head that i wanted to point out in that vibe thing. sorry. But for a guest to not only sign up, make a topic (which btw, only invites a witch hunt), and to make her OWN shit? I can only be impressed. Also, dafuq is this weeaboo shit? Its not that Japanese. Its more "Ame in a very tired and rushed scenario" shit. Final Chapter: So unless you've been lurking in the dark for months (please god I hope you aren't), I really don't see the problem in this. Like "Oh this banner is so blargh so I'm gonna do shit...ehhhhh..." Not that I have a problem with someone filing a complaint towards someone (trust me I was fucking scared when I saw them eyes), but still. It only boggles the mind that you'd do something like this. Edit: I misspelled witch...GAH! youre kinda confusing the point of this topic was to suggest the banner be changed or redrawn to appeal more to members and/or future members. i wasnt looking for trouble of any kind from anybody. i did NOT know that Ame rushed on this and that the actual person who was, i guess, suppose to draw, was gone so she did it instead until after i posted the dang topic. and if youre hinting that i only made an account to bash on some banner and the artist alone, youre dead wrong. if youre not, just ignore that part iunno, and since i was suggested i redraw it myself, i felt up for it and i did. it was never my intention to come here and be SUGGESTED to redraw the banner. also people here need to calm down for once, this was only a little suggestion for more site appeal, quit getting so hurt over everything and taking this farther than it was intended to be taken Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
