[IC] As Gods Sleep Chapter 1: The Dust Settles. . .

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

Umbreon looked at the Egg Pokemon and tapped Zephyr's foot reassuringly, then sat down on her foot. It didn't know why, but she seemed to find it comforting.

"Ah, well, in that case it's okay. My girl, she does tend to be intense a lot. She just.. Can't help it," it said. The blue rings on its body began to dim a bit, as if it began to relax.

Umbreon sat on her foot after what felt like patting her leg.

In general that tended to mean that it was trying to calm her down. Well... It did work. Somehow. Even Zephyr had no idea why.

She watched the Oshawott turn in a direction and the Togepi use what looked like Wish on Houndoom.

Yeah, she was starting to feel better. Wew... Okay. Deep breaths.

"... Sorry," she muttered, feeling stupid in general. Well, she meant it for the Pokemon, at least. Her brain had nearly gotten the best of her.

Goddamnit.

As the Togepi used Wish on Houndoom, healing it back to half health, Kenny was rushing back from the Pokemart with a couple Potions and a Super Potion balanced on his Scalchop, and he was also carrying three miniaturized Dive Balls in his other paw. he placed the Potions and Super Potions on the ground.

"They had no Revives, but i found these. there's a LOT more where these came from, and they heal damage! i tried one of them out, and the damage i took from that electrical attack earlier was healed. i also found several other Items, including these."

as he said that last bit, he tossed one miniaturized Dive Ball to Gale, and another to Zephyr.

The Oshawott came back with... a hell lotta items, including a Dive Ball.

... What a curious set of Pokemon this was.

Zephyr took one of the super potions and sprayed it on Houndoom.

"You okay there, bud?"

"Urgh..." rasped Houndoom. It opened its red-brown eyes to see the Togepi that had used Dazzling Gleam against it now using a healing move on it.

What, and.. why?

Slowly the hound sat up and felt better. It nodded it response to Zephyr's question and nudged her hand, which held the Super Potion, gently.

"Yeah, I'm good..." It stared at the Togepi, then the Oshawott in turn.

"Huh, so you two're... The ones who beat the crap out of me, innit?"

"Yeah. I had to hold back my laughter. Seriously, 'doom, you got knocked out in three attacks. Three attacks. That's not how Zeph raised us," Umbreon said, evidently scoffing at Houndoom, despite its cool tone.

Houndoom merely growled at the shiny Umbreon, then licked its paw.

"actually, Umbreon, it was four, because i needed to use Hydro Pump on Houndoom's Tail to get Houndoom's Attention. By the way, Houndoom, you're quite the Tank! i've never had so much trouble with taking down a Fire type. normally, when i hit a Fire Type with Hydro Pump, it OHKOs them. however, i couldn't even defeat you with two Hydro Pumps! it took a Critical-Hitting third Hydro Pump, along with a little help from Togepi, to do you in. i can only attribute your strength to your trainer's skill. if you took that many attacks, i can only imagine how much damage you would've done to me if you'd had the chance, despite my typing."

"Oh yeah," Umbreon said almost lazily. "He hit your tail, too. You're really out of shape, aren't you?"

The hellhound looked up from its paw and stared at its tail. "You're making fun of me, when you're the only who could barely stand against a Fairy."

Clearly affronted, Umbreon glared at the Houndoom. "Whatever, bro. I wasn't the one who fainted."

Chuckling-- or, whuffing, whatever a dog would do to laugh, Houndoom then turned to acknowledge the little otter-like Pokemon. "Heh. You seem like a decent toughie. Or, well, maybe I really am out of practice. Where we're from, we haven't seen a single Water-type for months and months on end, for some reason... Not like I could've practiced my Thunder Fang enough. Weren't that many birds, either." It looked up at Zephyr, who had taken to shutting up and crouching by both Houndoom and Umbreon, and petting them both.

"She 'been our pal for as long as I could remember. If she panicked earlier when you knocked me out... Well, yeah. She tends to do that," the hound continued.

"The three of us are all we have left."

"you guys have it easy. i've had to get along without my trainer..."

as Kenny said this, he looked at his Bracelet, and started to feel a little sad. a tear formed, and rolled down his cheek as he remembered all the good times and the many victories against higher-leveled opponents he and his trainer had shared in.

The two Pokemon looked at each other, then at the Oshawott.

"You poor pup," Houndoom rumbled. Umbreon stayed quiet, as if being silent in respect.

The Oshawott wore a bracelet of some sort. How'd she just missed it now?

"Is that like... From his trainer?" Zephyr mused. The shiny Moonlight Pokemon nodded.

Oh. Oh. Damn.

Was that guy there his trainer or... Nah, couldn't be. If he was, then, why'd he look so sad?

... So I scared the crap out of this poor fellow and it turns out, he's probably missing his family. Zephyr bit her lip.

She pulled out some berries she'd found earlier.
"Sorry, again. Found these along the way. Don't really know if you like Pecha, though."

[K_H]

"thanks, Pecha's one of my favorites."

he accepted two of the berries, eating one and saving the other one for later.

"i lost my trainer to a rift... i don't know if he's still alive or not. i certainly hope he is."

suddenly, a rustling noise came from a couple of nearby bushes.

"hang on, i think we've got company. i'll check it out."

Kenny then went into the bush that had rustled most recently.

"oh my."

Kenny then came running out of the bush.

"Guys, we've got company, and it isn't too friendly, either. you might want to prepare for trouble."

with that, Kenny faced back towards the bush in an aggressive stance.

suddenly, more rustling comes from a bush on the other side of the path.

"What the?!... we're surrounded! well, i'll just check out who's on the other side..."

Kenny turned around, and then headed into the other bush to find the source of the second rustling.

"Huh?! Who're you guys?! never mind, i'm outta here!"

Kenny then ran out of the bush, and gave the group the intel on what was in the bushes:

"on one side of us, there's some kind of creature that i don't know about, and on the other side, there's a Pancham, a Dewgong, and a Cyndaquil!"

[Raindrop Valkyrie]

Theo heard a big commotion in a nearby. He wondered what it was. He had been traveling for awhile now. He went to a nearby bush seeing a bunch of Pokemon below him. Why are there so many pokemon here? Maybe they are investigating the Mountain as well. Theo blew his horn hoping to signal his arrival so they wouldn't be alarmed. A Long Blast came out, it seemed to rattle the Mountain Side. Theo began to wonder down to see the others then.

[K_H]

a Horn blew nearby, signaling that there was, in fact, something there.

"Alright, you can come out now, you had us startled with the rustling. we're only stopped here en route to the mountain."

[Arkhi]

Everything that happened after Togepi's flashing attack left him a little dazed. However, one thing was obvious. There were a ton of Pokemon and another human. Awesome! A challenge! Gale grinned.
" 'ey girl. What's a pretty face like yours doing out here?" Of course, this must have been poorly timed, as the little Oshawott, after giving him some healing appliances and some sort of Poke Ball, returned, communicating with the group with a sense of urgency.
He looked back up to the woman. "I don't speak Poke-nese. You know what's goin' on?" Gale quickly looked down, giving Amarantha a quick smile. "Nice going, girl. That was impressive." He looked back up.

[Zephyrus the Priestess]

"Oh. You're finally back down to earth," Zephyr said dryly, unimpressed by his bravado. She stood up and stretched, gently nudging Umbreon off her foot.

"And no, I don't know what they're saying. I'm just guessing that, since your Pokemon seem to be a nice sort and don't seem to hate your guts, you're not... A complete bastard. Just maybe."

She didn't really feel like explaining herself right now and pulled out one of her pistols. While this action may have startled one of them, both Umbreon and Houndoom continued whatever they were doing. Anyway, she was just checking to see how many bullets she had left in her gun.

"One year here, and I have no idea that there's a freakin' forest here... " she muttered, then looked towards the bushes, aiming her the pistol she grabbed out in it.

Only to be nudged by Houndoom.

Oh... Okay then. She lowered her gun.

"Man, I'm seriously getting hyped up today. I'm getting tired of this."

Umbreon looked up at the dude who finally seemed to snap out of his trance or something curiously. Lots of stuff happened, but it couldn't really tell him OR Zephyr exactly what was going on, so.. Meh.

"All right. Just step out of the bushes, and we won't jump you," Houndoom said, opening its jaw to yawn after signaling to the gun-totting girl that there was no harm.

[K_H]

"You heard us. we're only trying to get to the mountain, but if you don't show yourselves, we will jump you, and it'll be two strong pokemon against three of unknown strength. if you don't want to be harmed, i'd suggest you show yourselves."

okay, let's see if they respond to that.

"My oh my, aren't you a tough bunch?" Nivia said amusingly as she swam closer to Theo and Blaze. "How would you know that we are not strong ourselves?" With that, she let out an Icy Wind towards the air to show off. With a nod towards Theo and Blaze, she swam ahead of them to get a look at the humans and Pokemon.

Upon seeing the girl with the gun, however, Nivia's eyes narrowed with anger, remembering how she was almost killed when she was dropped into the forest. She quickly went into a battle-stance, preparing to fire an Ice Beam to freeze the gun. "Hey, it's unfair to have a gun by your side! How would I know if you are just lying to us in order to draw us out? Is she one of those poachers trying to kill me? Tell me before I blast you with Ice Beam!"

Kenny heard a slight Rustling as one of the creatures prepared an attack. he raised his Scalchop in preparation, using it like a shield to be able to block an incoming attack.

"I'm warning you, we will attack you if you don't come out of that bush!"

then the creature in the bush made it's statement.

that was the last straw for Kenny. he was already tense, and that mentioning of them being mistaken for poachers pushed him over the edge in terms of patience.

"That's it. You Asked For It!"

Kenny then used Cut on the Bush, revealing the Dewgong near it, as well as a nearby Pancham and Cyndaquil.

"Oi, step away from her!" Theo shouted in his little voice, the others probably thought he looked ridiculous, having on a Small Pith Helmet, carrying a Walking Stick with a handkerchief tied to it, and wearing a small Monocle. He went towards the Little Oshawott. "I will be forced to Circle Throw you away if you don't back off!". he said obviously mad. "How dare you accuse of us of attacking you when you attacked us for first!"

Kenny was angry at this point, and the Pancham that had just confronted him wasn't helping any!

"i'd probably win in a fight. why don't we put our Words where our moves are and see if i'm correct?"

[Raindrop Valkyrie]

At this point Theo was convinced this Oshawott would attack his friends. This made him even angrier, he couldn't hold it in anymore. All of a sudden he started to literally grow White .Where once stood a tiny Pancham now stood a Giant One. The Giant Beast growled "You threaten my friends, I will destroy you. You let us leave peacefully, or else I will be forced to fight you all, we don't want any of this, you forced your violence upon us, and I will not stand for it."

[K_H]

This Pangoro was really starting to get on Kenny's nerves. he then started to Glow White himself, and he felt himself receive a large Boost in Power. then, when the Light faded, where there once was a small Oshawott, there was a tall one.

"Buddy, YOU ASKED FOR IT!"

Kenny then proceded to use Aerial Ace.

[Raindrop Valkyrie]

Theo rushed forward taking the Aerial Ace head on, Grabbing the Dewott at the same time. He used Circle Throw to toss him, trying to hurt him as little as possible. "Any of your group more Level-Headed then this one, or you all going to just keep attacking us? We really do come in piece, and mean none of you harm, but this guy can't seem to grasp that concept. I am surprised he hasn't just been attacking you lot." Theo had no Idea he had evolved yet. And of how silly he looked, A Giant Pangoro with a Pocketwatch around his neck and a comically small Pith Helmet. The tiny Monocle he had been wearing already fell off, though he didn't notice. "My name is Theodore, perhaps we got off on the wrong foot. Lady Nivia is afraid of People since she was stolen away from her home, so don't blame her for being cautious." he said inadvertently, putting a Twig in his mouth to chew on.

Kenny then realized that he'd acted out of anger as he flew through the air. he then hit a nearby tree. hard. it didn't take much of his HP out, though.

well, maybe i should be more levelheaded next time i challenge someone.

"Sorry about that, it's just that i acted out of anger. my name's Kenny. i'm usually more levelheaded, but my emotions got the best of me this time... i really need to work on that, especially since these are-"

he cut himself short when he noticed something different about Theo.

"Theodore, you look... Different. before i tried fighting, you were about my size, but now you're much taller than me..."

Kenny had no idea that he'd evolved, either.

"Huh?" said Theo as realized the Dewott was no longer at his eye level. "I don't know, huh I seem to be bigger, but I don't know why." He looked closely at Kenny. "You too, you have also grown, though not as much as me." Theo noted. "Anyway all is forgiven if you let us go on our way, we are headed off towards the mountain we are investigating some of he recent goings on. Mostly the Dark Wind."

"Wait, What? so that's what the glow i saw and the boost i recieved was! anyways, it's quite the coincidence that our destination is the same. i, too, was headed towards the mountain, for much of the same purpose. however, i lost my trainer to a Rift before i met up with any of these guys..."

as he said this, he looked at his bracelet.

"i hope he's still alive. i swore to myself to find him, and i'll try my hardest to get back to him, no matter the cost."

[Ojama Yellow]

Right before Yuki had carried Sark over the rocks, he heard...something. Wouldn't be surprised if one of the weaker wild Pokémon got hurt by a stronger one again...or that a human caught it after hurting it badly. Then, he had thoughts he never had before. Teamwork...may not be as bad as I thought. Without Yuki, I wouldn't have been able to get over those rocks... He turned to Yuki. "We're almost there, aren't we?"

Suddenly, you see a flash of orangeish-red light hit the large boulders blocking the path, blasting the majority of them apart and spraying you with shrapnel. The eerie wind returns; this time, it comes from behind you, in the forest. You feel an overwhelming urge to press forward.
