[IC] As Gods Sleep Chapter 1: The Dust Settles. . .

After the pretty face came up to Gale with what was a suggestion of an ultimatum, everyone headed off further up the mountain. He decided to let Amarantha walk on her own, only because she could attack quicker without his arms blocking her movement and he was more mobile. The group traversed a mountain path, littered with gravel and charred rocks. If what the professors at the school taught was true, then a variety of strong Pokemon would make their home here: perhaps even causing the burning of so many rocks.
But there was no way a Pokemon could emit the roar that just sounded. It had to have been the mountain sound, echoing off some surface strangely. Or a trick of his mind. Gale wasn't scared- on the surface, at any rate. In fact, he grinned a bit upon hearing it, taking it as a challenge by nature. Or, if it were a Pokemon that made the sound, it would be a challenge for Gale and Amarantha. The others could sit back while he kicked ass. He tapped his hand to his back pocket, feeling the knife there, ready to remove it if the challenge revealed its face.
Oh, how he loved challenge.

After Sark replied they both heard a roar not too far from here. She then asked, "Hey Sark, what was-." And Sark, without warning, ran towards the roar. Yuki yelled as he ran "Sark, where you going?!" but it was of no use as Sark just kept running. "What should I do," Yuki told herself, "the roar sounded from a dangerous pokemon, and why would Sark run to it? I mean as good as a Bidoof he is that roar sounded like something no Bidoof can handle on its own. I should follow him, make sure he's okay." She then floated towards the location of the roar, hoping to catch up with Sark.

She didn't need Houndoom and Umbreon standing at attention(whilst snarling, having their hairs stand on end and whatnot) several meters for her to know that somewhere nearby, something really really bad was lurking.

It wasn't like it was trying to hide its presence.

Damn forest appearing out of nowhere. Zephyr felt it necessary to pull out both pistols as she looked around.

"Tch," Nivia gave a glance behind her, considering whether or not they should go back or not. The cry she heard did sound threatening, which set her on edge. Her instincts tell her to run far away from here. However, she felt something was holding her back from saying that thought; Nivia could not quite pinpoint it, but she felt that she couldn't just leave the others behind, even if it includes a human, as much as it annoys her to admit it. "Maybe it has to do with what Blaze called it: An unknown reason."

With a sigh of defeat at her own conflicted feelings, Nivia changed course and began swimming cautiously back downstream. "Let us go help them. However, I think we should also keep our eyes open while we go back. We, technically, don't know in which direction that cry is coming from. And I doubt the others know either."

Lily broke out of her mindlock. Ugh. She hated having mental duels. Left her feeling all tired and gave her migraines. Not to mention the lack of physical activity made it feel like cheating. To add insult to injury, she had not even been able to find out anything about her opponent. As she glanced around irritably, she noticed a drastic increase in the number of Pokemon - and humans - in her vicinity. Just how long was she going at it?

A tremendous roar punctuated the air.

Now that. That sounded like a challenger. Just. Wow. Her body tingled with anticipation, Psychic energy sparking off the surface of her skin in arcs.

Sark kept running in the direction he thought the cry came from, and didn't even know, or care, if Yuki still followed him. Suddenly, he almost bumped in a Dewott. "You!" Sark yelled. "Have you seen an Hydreigon around here?!"

"I was about to ask you the same question! i heard the Hydregion, and decided to head back to the main group to protect them. I saw you earlier, when you were at the Valley entrance. however, i was only an Oshawott at the time, and..."

*Kenny tells Sark what he's experienced from the time he was on top of the Mountain Ridge to the events that had just happened*

"so, what do you say we go get that Hydregion? i'm sure that it's nearby."

"Well, looks like it found us first, Sark! we'd best protect that group i'm part of by defeating it, it doesn't look too friendly!"

and with that he stood just in front of the group, between them and the Hydregion.

"You guys had better help me out, i won't be able to do this alone."

Without warning, the enemy began its assault. A loud roar echoed throughout the mountain, and the telltale tingling of danger surged through her body. This was dangerous. This was deadly. This was also fun.

Lily focused and projected a Light Screen around the group to protect the cute Togepi. It wouldn't be able to stop the attack, but it should lessen the impact. She then closed her eyes and focused her mind in preperatiom for the coming battle.

Blaze flinched as a deafening roar resounded over the area. He turned to Nivia.

"A-are you sure that you want to go back there..?" He began to follow as he awaited a response. "That sounded like something pretty big..."

"Yes maybe you are right, I think the others will be able to handle it, there are a lot of them. I just feel bad about not helping them." Theo said. He really did feel bad about leaving them, but he barely knew them. He needed to think best for Nivia and Blaze, the two he now vowed to protect. He wouldn't lead them into that danger.

a Light Screen came down literally a couple centimeters in font of Kenny, causing him to back up a little.

"OK, i hope this works..."

he then waited for the Hydregion to attack.

The massive beast opened each of its three maws wide. From the center, a withering flame blasted. The left let out a powerful arc of lightning, while the right fired a ray of cold that froze the very air as it traveled. The Hydreigon focused each of the beams onto one point after sweeping each head back and forth, using the triple assault to batter at the barrier of light as the dragon itself barreled toward the group. As the backlash from the ferocious attack burst backward from the barrier, the beast was among them, heads snapping at everything nearby.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amarantha scrambled for cover as the attacks blasted at the light screen Lily had created. "Holy shit, what do we do?" The seemingly innocent creature started unleashing a veritable torrent of obscenities, each fouler than the last, as she skittered about, trying to think of something to do. Only one thing came to mind. She waggled a finger, searching for inspiration. A thought popped into her head and she unleased an odd telekinetic wave. The rampaging Hydreigon didn't seem to feel it at all, however.

As he was forced to listen to the Dewott's story, he felt it. He felt he couldn't beat an Hydreigon on his own. The very thought of it wasn't pleasant, but he would have to work together with Kenny, and the others the Dewott talked about. He didn't even know for certain if Yuki was still around, but there he stood, next to Kenny, in front of a group that he didn't know. He groaned: "Alright, you guys, let's smash some Hydreigon skull." As the Hydreigon let out a destructive Hyper Voice, Sark braced itself for the impact, but the Gardevoir that was with the group lessened the damage by using a Light Screen. Then, the Hydreigon used a powerful combo to destroy the Light Screen and started moving closer. I...I won't be bested by this thing. I refuse! With a loud scream, Sark let out his ThunderBolt, which was going straight in the direction of the Hydreigon.

As Sark let out a Thunderbolt at the Hydregion, Kenny knew he had very few moves in his Arsenal that would do much against it. then, using his knowledge of what his Arsenal was, he fired off a Fury Cutter at it, using the Dual-Scalchop Spin technique that he'd practiced up on while waiting for the group, to attack much more intensely than he normally could.

First, the god-awfully powerful Pokemon emerged from over the horizon. Next, it literally threw its voice at Gale and the others, forcing him down to a single knee. And then, it spewed flame, thunder, and ice from its three heads. Your average encounter in Reborn.
Gale was grateful for the shield Lily put up, but it was quickly smashed down. Unsure of what he could do, Gale reached into his back pocket, pulling out his pocket knife. Then, he looked down at it, and shook his head. Sure, a knife would take down this dragon. Maybe the girl could give him one of her guns. In the meanwhile, Gale dove behind a large stone, shouting at the girl. "Hey!! Toss me a gun! We can flank it!"

All the while, a white-furred beaver shot electricity at the thing, Lily seemed to focus deeply on something, and Amarantha meditated, then seemed to attack the creature with an invisible force to no avail. Perhaps he could toss the Dewott or Cyndaqil at the Hydreigon...

Lily was annoyed. The opponent was a dark type, which meant her normal fighting style - concentrating psychic energy into a point of impact - would be useless; the energy would simply dissipate on contact. So... she had to use her other moves to her advantage. She kicked off towards the Hydreigon, leaving behind several afterimages - a Double Team. Lily and her doubles closed in as one on the opponent, picking up speed as they went. As they approached, they all leapt towards the Hydreigon from different directions.

The Hydreigon's side heads continued to snap at the nearby Pokemon as the main head darted around to focus on the Dewott, who had actually managed to wound it slightly with the Fury Cutter. The Bidoof's Thunderbolt had merely annoyed it, and the mirror images would be kept at bay by the two mindless heads. The massive beast's jaws opened wide and began to crackle with electricity. It lunged forward and clamped downward with a vice grip on the Water-type, shaking Kenny from side to side before tossing him away and turning to focus on Sark.

The Hydreigon was blasted to the ground with the force of the Moonblast. The force was antithetical to the dragon's very existence, and it left the monster in very poor condition. However, the wounded beast only became angrier. Each of the heads focused on the Gardevoir as light gathered in each open maw. The Dark-type flew at the Fairy-type, almost making contact as the heads surrounded her and unleashed the gathered light from three different angles.

The taste of victory was fleeting, as the Hydreigon quickly resumed its assault. In fact, Lily was currently surrounded by three angry heads. With energy gathering within their maws. That seemed dangerous. She closed her eyes and desperately tried to Teleport out of the encirclement, hoping the Dark-type interference wasn't strong enough to trap her.

The Gardevoir had temporarily escaped the monster's wrath, though the beams of light had clipped her before she vanished. It turned around angrily, returning the focus back to the aggravating Bidoof. Hydreigon glowed with a light blue aura and savagely tore at the smaller Pokemon, tossing it away in a manner similar to what had happened to the Dewott. It noticed a Froslass nearby, and flames gathered in the left head's mouth as the other two heads looked about for nearby threats.

Kenny was a little shaken up by the sudden attack from the Hydregion, but he was somewhat OK. he couldn't take much more of a beating like that he'd received from the Hydregion, however. As the Hydregion charged up its' move, Kenny prepared to turn the tables on it, because it'd given him the element of surprise when it threw him into the bushes. he then leaped between it and the Froslass, and prepared to launch off a Revenge, waiting for it to strike first.
