[IC] As Gods Sleep Chapter 1: The Dust Settles. . .

A jet of flame flew at the Dewott in Froslass's stead, enveloping him in heat. The Hydreigon let out another ferocious roar with the other two heads, releasing yet another concussive wave of sound.

----------------------------------------------

Amy was tossed backward with the force of the attack. She came rolling rather ignominiously to a halt near Gale's feet, but managed to get back to her own feet. Come on, come on. . . she waved her finger again. This time, she put her hands together and fired a concentrated ray of freezing air at the distracted dragon, causing it to roar again; this time, in pain.

((I'm randomizing these moves, by the way.))

Kenny was hit by the Flame, taking the damage. he then returned the favor with the now twice-as-powerful Revenge he'd prepared as his strategy, and jumped back into the bushes afterwards, distracting the Hydregion.

The Hydreigon bellowed once again with the impact. It definitely appeared slower now; repeated powerful hits were starting to take effect. However, it wasn't going to give up that easily. It unleashed the triple assault once more; the right head's flames burned away the bushes, while the combination of ice from the left and lightning from the center struck with nearly unimpeded force on their target. The brutal Pokemon closed the gaping maws for a moment, and the massive wings beat to give it a better view of the situation.

Kenny was hit by the devastating blow, and was knocked aside to the feet of the group by the blast, where he lay there, unable to get up. he would have to be helped along until he fully recovered from that attack.

Nivia dove straight into the water to try and avoid the painful cries of the Hyper Voice. The force of that move was so powerful that it sent massive vibrations through the water. By the sound of it, the dual Water/Ice Pokemon could tell it was a Hydreigon; it was a Pokemon she could have a good advantage of, especially since those dragons cannot swim. With that in mind, she came back to the surface to meet with Theo and Blaze again.

"No offense, my dear friends, but I really doubt anybody could ignore that Hydreigon after that annoying cry," Nivia said, shaking her head to try and clear out the effects of the Hyper Voice. She then heard the said dragon causing more commotion as it flew over a particular area quite close to the trio. The sounds of pain and moves clashing with one another could be heard. Nobody needs to question what is going on: There is clearly a battle. Nivia began to swim towards the beast, voicing her opinion as she moved along.

"Look, I may not trust some of them in the group but, as of right now, that predator is our common enemy. If they cannot handle it, that Hydreigon will probably come after us next. We might as well take it down now while we still have this many of us still standing. And besides," Nivia added, "I have an advantage here with being in the water so it cannot touch me and I know Ice type moves. What is the worst that can happen?"

Lily clutched her side. Blood trickled from a wound in her abdomen where the attack had hit her. In this condition, getting within point blank range again was suicidal. Resigning herself to providing cover fire, Lily gathered energy for a Moonblast in front of her, then dispersed it into numerous smaller pellets and launched them in the direction of the Hydreigon in waves, hoping the barrage would keep her adversary stunned long enough for others to end it.

The Hydreigon took the barrage of energy, and showed a significant amount of pain, but didn't roar. Instead, it lifted all three of its heads skyward. Nothing happened for a moment, then the nearby river surged upward over the banks and swamped the battlefield, waves crashing down in a torrent.

As Nivia was swimming along, she suddenly felt the water recede from the bank. Before she could even shout out a warning, especially to Blaze, she was carried away from her two friends and landed, ungracefully, straight onto land, with water dripping everywhere. Struggling to get a grip of herself, Nivia looked around and found herself right behind the Hydreigon with an injured party of Pokemon. The Dewott (since she still refused to call him by his name) appeared unconscious, while the others appeared to be injured, except for the tiny Togepi.

Losing her field advantage made her panic; Nivia began dragging herself on all of her flippers and tail to get back into the river, or what was left of it. As she neared it, however, she looked back at the Hydreigon, then at the water, then back again at the dragon, a little confused. She found it odd that a sudden wave of water crashed down on the party. "Was it a coincidence or did that dragon make a Surf?" Nivia thought. "If that is the case, my going back is going to be useless..."

With that, Nivia fired off an Icy Wind towards the Hydreigon, hoping to slow down the dragon. She knew she was not the fastest Pokemon around, so any advantage now will help. "Hey, big boy! Chill out, why don't you?"

The Hydreigon cried out in agaony; it knew it was in over its head (or heads), but it refused to give up until all of its opponents were defeated. It continued to be buffeted by the barrage of miniature Moonblasts, and the last Ice Beam had crippled one of the six wings, which hung limply, encrusted with ice, instead of beating in sync with its twin. Since it was already having a difficult time maintaining altitude, it decided to use a dive to attack. It again surrounded itself with the blue aura, and bore down with as much force as it could muster, falling out of the sky and slamming into the Dewgong.

Nivia cried out in pain as Hydreigon's Superpower crashed right into her. It sent her flying a couple of yards back, effectively separating her from the rest of the group. She wished Theo and Blaze would come soon.

"Ugh," Nivia growled, "If only I accepted the horn."

Despite her condition, she was a bit pleased to find the Hyrdreigon floating awkwardly thanks to her icy attack. "I need to heal before Hydreigon gets another attack in..."

With that, Nivia's eyes glowed as a ring of water began to surround her. Thanks to its healing abilites, she felt a little less pain than she did a few seconds ago. It isn't as great as a Rest, but Nivia can't afford to close her eyes to this danger.

"Let's see you try this one then!" the Dewgong taunted as she channeled a frozen aura to the tip of her horn. A small, bluish-white force began to form, crackling with chilling, icy energy threatening to let loose at her foe.

Theo went charging into the clearing after seeing Nivia getting swept away. He saw her near the beast. "Get away from her!" He shouted. He charged straight at it like a Berserker, readying his Storm Throw.

The Hydreigon was flung a fair distance by the Storm Throw. The Pangoro's powerful arms caused the violent creature to roll across the ground when it landed, atrophied legs doing it no good as the wings took a beating. It awkwardly lifted off on three wings, struggling to get aloft as an icy wind originating from the stricken Dewgong interfered with flight. One of the heads seemed dazed as well, not darting about with the same energy as the other. The dragon, sensing it needed to deal with the opponents quickly, attempted a desperate move. It let out a loud, almost unnatural cry, and there was a short period where nothing happened. Then, meteors started crashing down from the sky, raining destruction down on the already swamped area.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Amarantha stood up again, her battered frame taking a beating from the repeated Hyper Voice attacks. She noticed the destructive force that the Hydreigon had called, and threw herself over the unconscious Dewott, knowing that she was protected from the assault.

Following Sark Yuki saw the three headed dragon Hydreigon attacking everyone that happened to be there, she was still moving forward and then the Hydreigon aimed one of it's head towards her, preparing a blazing attack before some random Dewott appeared before her, taking the attack and countering the Hydreigon. It then moved near a river back and unleashed many meteors towards everyone. Yuki then thought of a way to evade the Hydreigon and possibly catch it off guard, so she now tried summoning a hail storm that would hit the Hydreigon, and with the hail Yuki evade most damage that the meteors brought, found the Hydreigon, and unleashed a Blizzard towards the Hydreigon, hoping it wouldn't catch her and evade the move.

As Sark barely survived the Hydreigon's Superpower, he finally managed to get back up. The first thing he saw was Hydreigon, heavily wounded, and the Dewott that lied unconcious. He also saw three others, a Dewgong, a Pangoro and was that a Cyndaquil? Then he saw Yuki appear, blasting a Blizzars at the Dragon. This is the time to end it... With his last power, he fired another Thunderbolt at the Hydreigon.

Goddamnit--

No sooner had Zephyr and the two taken cover, all hell had broken loose. She hadn't even decided on getting range to get in on the fight, when the damned dragon INCLUDED her and her Pokemon in its range.

What's more, is that neither Houndoom nor Umbreon had had an opportunity to land a single hit.

That pissed off the gunslinger more.

It didn't end there. The beast was far out of her range. She couldn't just jump it and off its head...s.

And for another, meteors came crashing down from the sky.

"Houndoom, get down and get ready to run like hell, if this doesn't work. Light Screen and brace for impact, Umbreon!"

As the Moonlight Pokemon steeled itself as it emitted a glowing barrier around them, Zephyr turned and noticed the other dude hunkered down behind a big rock, calling for a... something. What? After that Hyper Voice, her hearing had gone all... Bad in a way. Sounds were muffled; she could barely even hear herself talking.

But that rock wasn't going to protect the guy, she knew.

She made a last minute decision and ran in his direction, calling for the other two to follow her, the magical field of protection hovering over them as the meteors fell like hellfire from the heavens.

As if Hydreigon's voice wasn't painful enough, it emit fire, ice, thunder, crashed its body into the Bidoof with insane power, nearly ripped apart the Dewott, tossed away the Dewgong, and threw Togepi's body by his feet before he could convince her to stay and attack all at once, she went back into the fray. What happened next is immeasurably insane. The creature went limp, as if studying the sky, then let loose a meteor shower. The rock wouldn't protect him. Neither would Lily or Amarantha. He was on his own, without a Pokemon by his side and without natural cover. He looked up. The mountain reflected the blueish-orange glow of the meteors- both hot enough to glow orange and cold enough retain its deep atmospheric properties.
Or something like that. All that mattered is that he was dead. He would have been, if the soldier-girl with the dark types didn't show up, shielding him from the incoming strike.
He had to admire the girl. She was brave. She didn't deal with his crap. One look would tell you she was a tough one, covered in cuts, wielding guns in either hand. She was steady, as well. Gale turned his head, smiling in such a stupid manner. Now was not the time to hook up.
"Oi!" Gale shouted over the force of the attack, having difficulty doing so. "Gimme a gun! I'll cover if you flank!"

The Hydreigon was hit by a blizzard and a thunderbolt almost simultaneously, sending it tumbling to the ground as the rain of meteors stopped. It struggled fruitlessly to get back into the air, but the battle had taken too much of a toll and all six wings fluttered weakly, two of which were frozen stiff. The dragon awkwardly stood on the underused, atrophied legs, and gazed around the battlefield. It saw the Bidoof and Froslass standing (and floating) nearby. The central head started to gather flames, and they leaked from its mouth in five equally spaced lines. The left one exhaled violently, sending a small gust of power at the Bidoof.

The rain of hell stopped. And right on time too-- Umbreon's Light Screen had just shattered into pieces like glass, the Moonlight Pokemon panting from the effort of keeping it up.

Zephyr turned to check on Houndoom, who seemed fine under the cover, and then, on the guy.

He was alive? Well all right, that was convenient. It wouldn't do to be the only human and go mad from not being able to understand a bloody thing.

Well, if she wasn't already mad enough.

The ringing in her ears subsided just in time for her to hear his request for a gun. She looked down. Oh yeah. She had two.

On the other hand, Maleficent was starting to look like it was almost about to give. Almost. It had enough juice to fire-- literally-- at a Froslass, and at a Bidoof(not just fire in this case, though, apparently) which stood not too far away. "Houndoom, get going!" she shouted, the hellhound already sprinting to intercept and absorb the absurdly large amount of flames.

That done, she turned to the guy, chucking him both pistols. "Don't waste any bullets." With those gone, she pulled up the chainsaw that dangled from her side.

"Cover me from here. Umbreon, you too. Fire a Signal Beam at the Hydreigon to scramble his brains."

The perhaps insane, impulsive girl leapt from behind the boulder and dashed behind the trees, trying to approach the downed dragon swiftly and discreetly-- discreetly, until she deemed it the right time to gun the motor to life, just to end the dragon's life.

Normally she hated even hurting Pokemon, but, the damn thing had hurt her Pokemon.

She couldn't forgive that.

As Nivia was trying to charge up an Ice Beam while Theo threw the dark dragon to the side, she began feeling small, little ice balls sliding down her now-dirty white coat. Then, a blast of chilled air swept through the area, effectively breaking Nivia's concentration. "Another Ice type? What perfect timing." Nivia thought as she looked around. However, her admiration was quickly replaced by fear as she noticed that the sky began to rain meteors. Theo was covering for her, but even he could only take so much.

"Theo, try staying down! Blaze, get over here and hide under my tail or something! I'll see if I can expand my Aqua Ring to reduce the damage." Nivia called out to her companions as her veil of water began to expand. Her blue eyes glowed as the Aqua Ring was enlarged to cover the trio, circling ever more vigorously to try and deflect anything hoping to get past it.

"After that Blizzard, I doubt it can survive another Ice or Fighting attack. That could be our chance once those meteors are down." Nivia could only hope for the best as the rocks came tumbling down towards the group.

Blaze jumped around, trying to dodge as many of the meteors as he could. He took cover behind a tree, flinching as the top half was taken off by a meteor. He didn't think it was a good idea to fight this thing, but he couldn't just leave Theo and Nivia. As the meteors died down, he was overcome with a sudden sense of duty. He would do what was needed to protect those he had come to care about. Running out from behind the tree, he faced the Hydreigon. Flames shot out of his back, slowly growing in size until they became overwhelming. He started to feel hot, which was unusual for a fire-type. As the immense flames were about to overtake him, he unleashed a burst of flame towards the Hydreigon, putting everything he had into it. He immediately felt drained afterwards, collapsing onto his stomach, legs splayed to the side. He was still conscious, but didn't feel like he could muster the energy to move.

The Hydreigon gasped as the wave of fire washed over it; it no longer had the energy to roar. The flames gathering in the center head burst forth in another desperate assault on the hated Ice-type, blasting the Froslass with considerable force despite the creature's weakened state. Then, it fell over, the weak legs being insufficient for the task of keeping the beast upright. It whined weakly as the pain started to hit it with full force.

Houndoom grimaced as the Bidoof and the Froslass were struck-- and as the beaver-like Pokemon fell. Damn it, I couldn't make it...!

It leapt to shield the icy ghost Pokemon from the later blast of flames, absorbing the inferno with its ability. In retaliation, Houndoom spewed forth a cloud of toxins at the dragon.

All right. Just a little closer... Zephyr's fingers lingered on the switch for the chainsaw as she tiptoed sideways behind the trees, getting ready to make a mad dash for the clearing, where the monster lay.

The poisonous fumes incapacitated the right head, which fell limply to the ground along with its twin on the left. The center head was emitting some really quite pathetic cries as it desperately tried to drag itself away. This was largely ineffective as it had very few functioning limbs left. Hydreigon let out a last, somewhat powerful sounding roar, in an attempt to scare off the Houndoom. The dragon caught sight of Zephyr, and simply started staring at the woman, straight into her eyes.
