"Scal... Salcha..." The hellhound shook his head rapidly, giving up on trying to repeat the weapon's name. "... That kid's got some pretty strong chompers."

He watched the Deino-- Umbra-- as she played with the Dewgong's tail, a bit astonished at the fact that suddenly, there was a baby in their midst.

"... I'm going to guess that... That Hydreigon was its mom, and we pretty much just..." Houndoom shook his head again, slowly, this time, in disbelief. Taking down the oh-so mighty dragon didn't faze him much, but for some reason it felt... Wrong, in a way, to have the squirt tag along with its mother's killers.

Ugh, whatever-- no time to pu... Persian out now. Shoving away his thoughts on how weird the whole situation suddenly felt to him, he stretched and shook his body. "Meh. Let me know when you want a round or two. I need to get some exercise in, anyway."

"The Hydreigon does not hate you for killing it, so will you go on hating yourself?" Lily had asked. She rose a good point, though. If Hydriegon did not hate him, but was simply disturbed that a human entered her territory, does that make him a villain? Or an anti-hero? He shook his head. Plenty of anti-heroes have worked with the protagonists, he thought, so that's my reasoning.
Gale got up, grabbing the two weapons- the guns now cold with the embers from the onslaught dead. He took the path the girl had in order to find her. After watching the Houndoom pass, he walked over where she was... Grieving? She looked terrified, but only from the side. From behind, she could have been resting or praying or something of the sort. The girl had a lean appearance and a good shoulder length. She carried... Jesus, was that a chainsaw? Gale smiled a bit: she definitely was a hardcore breed, a feminine badass, something Gale liked in his girls. Too bad he'd never had one.
He walked over, hoping not to piss off the Umbreon. From a distance, he spoke. "Hey. I'm not one for comfort, but... It wasn't you, at least," he said, a quick grin flashing on his face, then returning to seriousness. "I've, uh, got your guns. If you want them. They're not gross or anything. No cooties."
Gale took a brief pause, then continued. He was far too distracted by her. "The group's headed out, last I heard. We should return to them."

Umbreon looked up at him. Unfortunately, her telepathic powers weren't anywhere near the Gardevoir's level, so she couldn't really give the guy a piece of her mind for only coming over now. In a last attempt to get Zephyr awake, she swept her brush-like tail over the girl's nose, irritably.

Nope. No response. Not as much as a flicker in the girl's eye--

"ACHOO!"

The poor Moonlight Pokemon tumbled off her Trainer's lap in surprise.

Ugh. What. Where.

Zephyr shook her head multiple times, finally coming to, sending her hair flying. Groggily, she looked at Umbreon, who got onto her feet and shook herself, looking miffed.

As if she'd had no memory of dozing off or whatever'd just happened, she squinted up at the dude. "Oh, you again. Where'd you get those?" She pointed at the pistols. Those were hers. How'd he... Oh, whatever. Stretching, she stood up and yawned. "... Rest in peace," murmured Zephyr, brushing the head of the Hydreigon as if it were nothing-- as if she wasn't about to murder it not too long ago.

As if it weren't her guns that killed it.

"So... What's goin' on?"

Umbreon merely looked at her in surprise and disbelief. Sometimes even she couldn't fathom her Trainer.

Theo deftly weaved straps together, using the Handkerchief as a liner to make it a little more comfortable for the Little Dragon. Luckily most of what he was carrying food wise was used up already, however he still had the Horn, and a few strange baubles of the past left over. He buried everything but the horn, there was no way he would be able to carry them all, and he wouldn't burden the others with his trinkets. They would probably think he was silly for carrying them all this way. ((If they somehow didn't think a panda with a monocle and a miniature Pith Helmet on his head, didn't already come off as a little silly.)). He used the last left over strap to connect his horn to the harness. He placed it on himself, it was a bit snug for his tastes, but he figured it would loosen with time. He went over to Nivia to retrieve the little child, picking her up gently in his monstrous hands. It was so strange to see something created to destroy, handling a fragile child with the utmost care. It might have looked alien to them if Hydreigon's weren't also forces of destruction. He placed little Umbra into the harness to see how she fit. She didn't seem to protest much, so he figured it fit well enough. Theo made sure to keep the back of the harness open, that way, Umbra would be warmed by the Fur on his chest at least a little while they were traveling. Inadvertently, he had placed her over his own heart. Umbra quickly fell asleep to the rhythmic beating, and the slight heaving of Theo's Chest as his lungs filled and emptied.

A Giant Beast loomed over the child, at least for now her guardian, the one that would protect her. He would keep her from any harm he could, and watch as she grew up. He felt he owed it to her in a way, after he had not been able to keep her mother from death. He remembered there was nothing he could have actually done for her mother, remembering that he didn't even know why she had attacked at the time. He placed his big paw gently on little Umbra's head as she sleep. A few tears dropping from his eyes. The Bear didn't even realize he was saying his thoughts out loud at this point, while tears streamed down his face. "I will protect you forever, I owe it to you and your mother to see that you grow up. I will always be there for you Umbra, nothing will ever keep me from you. Not an army of Trevenant, not this dark wind, not the humans. Not even Arceus himself, can keep me from your side. I swear this on my very life, No. My very Soul. Be I damned if I cannot keep my promise to you little one. I hope one day you grow to live in a world without all of this turmoil, without all this darkness and hate. Hopefully, I can deliver you from all that I can. Whether my body break, my soul shatter, or even if I fall to the darkness, I will protect you no matter what. I promise you this little Umbra. You are more important to me than the past I lost. Because you are here now, and I may never and out who I was."

((by the way, I felt the song fit. Yes it might be League related, but I don't think that matters.))

OOC:

Holy shit, that song fit well

She asked what was going on, and Gale was taken aback by the question. Avoiding discussing the battle, he brought her up to speed. "Some of the Pokemon are caring to the.. child. The Deino," he said with puckered lips and avoided eye contact. "Some of the others are building totems to wail on, and some are sitting it out."
Gale spun the barrel of the gun towards him, stacked the two, and handed them to the girl, ready to part with them. "I never did get your name" he said, hesitantly, before adopting a nonchalant attitude. He didn't want to come off as an ass who had no respect for the dead, but then Lily would knock him up again. "Name's Gale Colriedia." That should be all he needed to say.

Ah, so they were. Houndoom was way over... There. With the Dewott and a bunch of ice poles. Fire balls flew into the air, and she assumed he was using Will-O-Wisp for the Dewott to aim at and shoot down.

Indeed, there was a Deino. Okay. Cool. Baby dragon. "Umbreon's a Dark type too, maybe they'd get along?" This she said casually, as if without thinking.

Absentmindedly she looked towards the guns and took them back, checking on the magazines. Well. Most of em were still here.

She forced herself not to think about where that last bullet had gone-- or did she really forget?

"... Why're you telling me your name?" she asked, cautiously. Nobody'd really introduced themselves to her in a while-- a bullet(or really whatever weapon) to the face was the only greeting she'd known for a long while now. Deep cornflower blue eyes, half-filled with suspicion and partly still laced with the effects of what looked like drowsiness, locked with the guy-- rather, Gale's eyes. Might as well begin addressing him by his proper name.

The wind started to pick up almost impatiently, giving Amarantha a shiver and causing Umbra to cry out in her sleep. She waddled forward to where the group was congregating. "I don't think we should stay here much longer," she said uneasily.

While the others were making the ice pole, Sark decided he could use some of the countless rocks that lied around all over to practise his Rock Smash. While he was practising, he saw Kenny and the Houndoom training together, while the humans were talking to each other. Meh. Humans. Then he caught the Pangoro - wasn't his name Theo? - caring for the small Deino. That was...THEIR FAULT! He shattered a rock that was double its size. I will never...forgive them...for what they have done...

"... Why're you telling me your name?" she asked. To avoid his true reasoning- like a boss- he would craft a side-stepping answer.
"Because, since hell has broken loose, I will not become a casualty without identity. If there's a way to go down with a name, that's my reasoning." Then, a breeze brushed past.

"It'd be best to get moving," he said, looking back to the trainees. "Leggo."

The Houndoom shot off a few Will-o-Wisps for Kenny to hit, and Kenny worked on his accuracy with Ice Beam, one of his less-refined moves. he blasted all but three of the projectiles out of the air with Ice Beam, grabbed his Scalcharang (Which was surrounded by a "Razor Shell"-like Aura when he did so), and then he threw it, cutting through all of the remaining projectiles.

(New Move: Scalcharang (Multi)

Type: Water

Category: Physical

Power: 70

Accuracy: 90

Other: can hit up to three targets once, can hit Allies or Enemies, 50% chance of lowering target's Defense Stat.)

he caught his Scalcharang (Which stopped glowing), and then spoke to the Houndoom.

"Well, that's a good way to practice. Now you try dodging!"

He then threw his Scalcharang (Which started glowing in a similar way) at the Houndoom for it to dodge.

(New Move: Scalcharang (Uni)

Type: Water

Category: Physical

Power: 70

Accuracy: 90

Other: can hit a single target up to three times, can hit Allies or Enemies, 50% chance of lowering the target's Defense Stat.)

It came towards him at a decent speed, but it was still fairly easy to dodge.

Or should he repel it with say, his tail or another attack or--

Houndoom's eyes widened and he ducked just in time. Damn, bad time to think... And I don't really think fast, it seems.

The hellhound watched the weapon warily, and his tail began to glow in anticipation.

Iron Tail and spoilers cause I don't know how to hyperlink.

Huh. "Touche."

That crazy wind was back-- blowing on her back, too. Frowning, and as if slowly waking up, Zephyr stood up slowly, ignoring the dragon's blood that now stained and dribbled down her legs.

"All right, fine," she started, and held out her hand. Not for him to take-- for Umbreon to leap up onto her Trainer's shoulders, which she did. "Zephyr. Like, the wind god."

She looked towards the group-- and defiantly, towards whatever force was awaiting them on the mountain... or... Wherever it was coming from.

"Let's move out."

Well, the girl got up, so that was good. The three (Gale, Zephyr, Umbreon) returned to the group. Gale made a beeline straight for Amarantha and Lily. The Togepi seemed uneasy, so he bent down, putting his hand out. "You look distressed. We're moving out. It's getting a bit chilly," all of this said with his hope that Ammy would understand him. The rest of the pack seemed prepared to move out. With the exception of the Dewgong, the Houndoom, and the Dewott, which seemed to be playing around.

Kenny caught his Scalcharang after the Houndoom hit it away with Iron Tail, and then heard the male human say that they were moving out.

"Well, let's go. I'd definitely like to get away from this blasted Wind!"

and with that, he started walking along the path towards the mountain.

"Huh? Oh, hey, she's back, finally!" said Houndoom, who, this time, could barely keep the excitement in his voice. Without skipping a beat he hit the ground running, bounding towards his Trainer. Oh man, he was gonna give her hell for making him worry like that, As soon as he was close enough, he reared onto his hind legs and leaned on the girl with his forepaws. Whatever. Who cared what anyone else thought? Zeph was okay. That's all that mattered to the hellhound now.

"Oof-- hey, bud," grunted Zephyr as she petted and stroked the suddenly-hyper demonic mutt, who'd come out of seemingly nowhere. What was up with Houndoom? Ah well. Saved her the trouble of going to get him. The gunslinger girl watched as the shiny cat-fox-thing pounce on the dog in play. She couldn't help smiling a bit.

"Well, it's good to know my techniques have not lost their touch," Nivia thought proudly as Kenny and the Houndoom were practicing their moves. The ice poles that the Dewott is using were beautifully shaped bluish-white cylinders that were sparkling in the sun. "If only those judges could see them. They would love me so much for such a display... Credits given to the Dewott, too, for the Water Gun, of course," she sighed.

Nivia then saw the group beginning to depart towards the mountain. "It looks like our time is up. Everyone is ready to leave after they got their bearings after that... death. That is... everyone except me..." Nivia shifted uneasily at that thought. She looked up at Theo who was cuddling baby Umbra, who is now in comfortable (and very safe) harness; Kenny, the human boy, the Togepi, the Gardevoir, even the girl with the gun and her two companions seem be ready to go. "I guess it's my turn to say goodbye then."

Nivia gulped as she turned her head to face the lifeless body of the mother dragon. She then made an ice path with an Ice Beam and slid her way to the body; Nivia was careful not to place her body onto the pool of blood that had formed around the Hydreigon. Nivia tried not breathe in too much; the Ice/Water Pokemon didn't want to risk throwing up on the body, it would not only be disgusting, but also plain rude. She came here to pay her respects, not to deface the poor mother.

"Hydreigon, I... I sincerely apologize for misunderstanding your actions. If I had known that you were only trying to protect your child, I would have not have attacked you and, essentially, lead you to your d-death. For that, I am truly, truly sorry." Nivia apologized, trying her best to look at the dark body of the dragon as she said her monologue. "I am sure the others are also sorry for their actions, in their own way, but all of us cannot pay their proper respects to you. That dark wind is about to overtake us, including your child, so we need to leave as soon as possible..." Nivia looked towards the sky; the dark clouds were rolling in once more, threatening the whole crew in its subtle, ominous way. "Hydreigon, I will help and take care of little Umbra. I already made a wrong by causing your death, I will not make another by taking another innocent life. Please accept this as my way of saying sorry." Nivia bowed, took once last look at the Hydreigon, and proceeded to slide her way back to Theo.

"Dear friend, let us continue. It will do us all no good if we stay here and let the wind take our lives. We will all help protect Umbra together." With that, Nivia made another icy path for her to slide on. This time, the slippery path is heading in the direction of the mountain.

Sark stopped practising his moves when he saw that the others were packing up and preparing to leave. Would it be better if I tagged along with them? He walked to the corpse of the dead Hydreigon, ignoring the fact he walked in a pool of blood. "I don't know if you can hear me, but well. I'm sorry for the fact that you were killed. I, indeed, tried to beat you. But I had no intention of killing." He looked at Theo, Nivia and baby Umbra. "You only tried to protect your child. And now your child is safe with them...with us." He walked back to the group. "I guess I'll be going with you guys...if you'll have me."

Nivia took a long look at the Bidoof. Up until now, she still didn't know his name, which irked her somewhat. However, she could also tell that he was competitive, which could help them in various situations. She did see him raring to go at the Hydreigon when she was unceremoniously tossed over by her Surf. The white coloring also intrigued her interest. "Surely, he is a different kind of Bidoof. Perhaps a stronger kind...?" Nivia thought.

"I don't mind having you tag along with us. The more the merrier, or safer in this case." Nivia held out a front flipper for him to shake. "My name is Nivia and this is dear Theo. May I ask for your name?"

Kenny spoke to the Bidoof.

"Well, I'd certainly be glad to have you along."

Kenny then walked over to the deceased Hydregion, avoiding the pool of blood that surrounded it. his next words were directed towards the Hydregion.

"I'm so sorry for you, even though you nearly killed me. I now know that you were just protecting your daughter and territory, and completely understand. my parents would've done the same thing for me, as would my Trainer or myself for each other. I promise to help Theo care for your child by teaching it the strongest moves i can. i may have tried to defeat you, but I never wanted to kill you, I was only protecting the group I am with."

He then walked to the group, and spoke to them.

"Well, we'd best get moving."

After saying that, he headed off towards the Mountain.

Nivia held out her front flipper. Sark was surprised at the friendliness at first, then he grinned and shook her flipper with his front paw. "The name's Sark. Glad to be able to tag along with you." No way back now... It's been a long time since I've been in a pack... Since I've left my clan "I guess we will be heading for a certain mountain now? I've heard all about it from... Hey, where's Yuki?" He looked around. "Oh, for your information, Yuki is a Froslass."

A...a friend? Sark noticed that he was starting to care about the well-being of his companion. She did kind of save me...I can't just leave her out here. He thought about the Berries he got from Yuki. "Can you guys just wait a bit more? I'll go look for Yuki."

Blaze walked up next to Theo and Nivia, anxious to get moving. He had stopped crying, but his face still had the marks of the tears on it. He put his small leg on Nivia's side.

"U-um... I don't think it's very safe to stay here anymore..." He looked back at the Hydreigon, almost breaking into tears again, before moving his gaze to Umbra and Theo. "Especially for Umbra's sake. She... she shouldn't be anywhere near this wind... It feels like it comes from something very powerful and scary..."
