"My master is Mewtwo, once considered one of humanity's greatest creations." A definite note of disgust crept into the projected voice - a cold, almost alien one - with the last part. "As for why Mewtwo requested the help of humans and Pokemon, I do not know. However, the reason he needs your help will be partially explained by this." Deoxys floated backward slightly, and an object seemingly pulled itself from the ground. It was a smooth tablet of some kind, rectangular and mostly featureless other than an engraving that was visible on one side. It hadn't been visible before because it was nearly the same color as the surrounding rock.

Sark could hear the coldness in the voice of the Deoxys. He could hear that the Deoxys despised humans as much as he did. However, there was still one question on his mind: a legendary Pokemon having a master? When he saw the tablet floating out of the earth, he remembered an old myth he once heard. "Great Deoxys, is that one of the Plates that the legendary Arceus created when he shaped everything on this planet?"

"It is. This is why Mewtwo has decided he requires assistance. He wishes to gather the 17 plates scattered about this planet. Evidently, you will be taking on this task for him." With the last statement, Deoxys gestured with one "arm," indicating all of the people and Pokemon gathered there.

"And for what purpose is this? You cannot expect us to help you if you don't tell us why we are helping you."

"For the fate of the universe itself. I do not know what Mewtwo plans; he will tell you when we travel to his current home." The world around them seemed to. . . shift. . . slightly. There was no outward sign of a change, but suddenly the area didn't feel quite right.

"We must hurry. If you wait for too long, we may not be able to arrive at his lair in time to prevent the collapse."

"The...the collapse?" Sark did not know what that ment, but it sounded bad. Real bad. He wasn't sure of following a Pokemon that mutated from a space virus that didn't even say what her motives were, but it didn't look like he had another choice. "Let's go then."

Nivia was not used to traveling such long distances on land, let alone hiking on a mountain. The journey would have been better if she was able to plop herself on the icy staircase that she kept on making for herself (and the others if they want), but those rockfalls kept smashing them apart almost every time Nivia tried to climb up further. As a result, by the time she got up to the peak, Nivia was physically and mentally exhausted.

So, even when a legendary Pokemon such as Deoxys showed up, Nivia let the rest of the group do the talking as she tried to catch her breath. She was so tempted to use Rest as she was lying on the floor listening to the conversations that are taking place. However, the mention of Mewtwo and the plates of the great Arceus kept her awake.

Then, of course, she felt the earth beneath her rocked ever so slightly, causing them to move out immediately. Nivia wished to herself that a decent human could just throw a Pokeball at her so that she won't have to travel any more. She was so not made for this, as evidenced by her lack of legs. Nivia sighed, lifted her head wearily, and made herself another icy path to follow Deoxys to safety. "At least there won't be rocks in my way this time..." Nivia thought as she slid on the said path.

That Bidoof just ratted me out, Gale thought. He gave a cold glare in its direction, before giving up. He was still in the wrong.
A tablet seemed to bring reason for the group to move out. Either that or the small tremor that had occurred. But using us to serve a Pokemon that has previously wrecked an entire island and massacred a lab of scientists? That seemed too risky, even with the "universe at stake". Was it the Pokemon of Time and Space that were causing the problems? Or was it Mewtwo?
Gale shook his head, brushing these thoughts aside. Doing anything else would be a bad idea. Besides, Gale thought, people need something to remember me by.
He walked alongside the others, but looked back to see the struggling Dewgong. As if by instinct, he reached for a ball, but then stopped. Would she even want him as a trainer? Gale looked at Amarantha. "You see Dewgong over there? She's struggling to move along, but she could be easier to move if she were in a ball," he said, tapping a great ball. "Do you think she would accept me?" To illustrate his actions, he grabbed the great ball, gestured towards the Dewgong, and gave Amarantha a quizzical look.

The girl looked at Gale as he mused aloud and held out a Great Ball and resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Although she understood his intentions and even-- reluctantly-- sympathized with him to some extent, sometimes she wondered if he was a little bit thick, to say the least. That, and she highly doubted the chances of that haughty but beautiful Dewgong agreeing to let herself be captured by him, especially as she seemed to already be owned by another Trainer.

There was, also, that funny Pangoro. He seemed to have been bonded to her, and to the baby dragon that was bundled up against his fur.

Baby dragon... Deino... Hy--

Nope. Nooooope. Hell nope. Just-- just no.

She blocked the thought right as it barely began to form. Anyway, they were in front of Deoxys, whom she now vaguely recalled being a veritable Legendary Pokemon. Her cheek most likely didn't earn her any brownie points with him(Her? It?), as it never really did with other people, so it was best to NOT probably lose herself. For the second time in a short while. Yes, she would have a sort of slight memory of blacking out, seeing red-- whatever you call it-- but she tended to not remember what she did while doing so.

Most likely it would be something she'd regret.

"Where does great Mewtwo reside now?" Houndoom inquired. Deoxys wasn't a hostile threat, so, okay then. "I think we should move quickly, as soon as possible." Whatever this "collapse" was, it didn't sound very good.

The hellhound couldn't believe that Umbreon was sleeping through all this. Sometimes, he thought her to be as lazy as a Snorlax, if not as cynical as a Weavile.

Blaze stood behind Nivia and Theo as Deoxys explained what it wanted them to do. He was unnerved by the idea of meeting such a powerful Pokemon, as well as the thought of meeting Mewtwo. And then there was this "collapse" he spoke of. Still, despite his worries, he would stay with Nivia and Theo. They were two friends he had managed to make in this world, and he wasn't about to leave them.

Amarantha shrugged and waddled a bit closer to the tired-looking Dewgong. "My human wants to know if you want to ride around in his Pokeball. I don't know, maybe you'd find it more comfortable? They just seem cramped to me."

Kenny then walked closer to Amarantha, and spoke to the Togepi.

"Amarantha, I believe I can safely say that she'll decline your Human's offer. After all, she did make me reconsider it when I was about to accept."

"My human wants to know if you want to ride around in his Pokeball. I don't know, maybe you'd find it more comfortable? They just seem cramped to me."

Nivia looked at the human that Amarantha referred to. The human boy was giving her a look of pity (or perhaps it was actual concern?) and holding out a Great Ball. Then she looked towards her trio of companions. Blaze is sticking close by to Theo and herself; the Pangoro just as loyal. As for Umbra...

Nivia quickly looked back down at the Togepi, a twinge of guilt and shame rushing over her as she struggled not to recall the memory of the dragon's mother. How could she be so selfish and consider joining one of those murderous humans for the sake of her own comfort? And what would happen to Theo and Blaze while she was inside the Great Ball? She wouldn't be able to help them as freely as she could now. But that concerned look on that boy's face did give her some hope that he may be repenting...

Once she cleared out her thoughts, Nivia lowered her head to reach the Togepi's level. "Unfortunately for your human, Kenny is correct. I may be tired, but I cannot leave dear Theo, Blaze and... Umbra behind for my sake, especially after what he did to H-Hydreigon," Nivia said softly, trying not to choke up on her guilt. "However, you can tell him that I appreciate the offer. Perhaps there is some chance, just a slight one though." Nivia looked at the boy, the Gardevoir, and then back at the Togepi. "May I ask, Amarantha, why you chose to stay with this human? He did just murder one of our kind, after all."

She then turned to Theo, who is reluctant to follow Deoxys to its master's lair. The others, especially Sark, seems all for arms about the plan though. Nivia could still feel a tremor or two underneath her white body.

"Theo, dear, while I do agree with you on the fact that this is suspicious, I believe it may be our only option at this point. I can feel the earth shaking as we walk, or slide in my case. If what Deoxys says is true, it can cause us more damage while we stay here, especially to poor Umbra. We cannot protect ourselves and Umbra at the same time if we are confronting such a calamity. We are not gods, after all. I have also heard some rumors about Deoxys back in my hometown. Legend has it that this legendary is supposed to reside in a secluded island in the sea that is far away from humans. I do not believe that such a Pokemon would want to cause harm to its own kind, would he?"

The Dewgong seemed uninterested in joining up with Gale. Figures. Do a million great things and no one notices, but do one vile act, and everyone's on your ass about it. Regardless, that was that.
Sighing, Gale put away the Great Ball, readjusting his belt. He reached down for Amarantha, holding her in his arms as he followed Deoxys.

OOC:

I was hoping for some activity, but there wasn't much. Consider this a bump.

Amarantha replied to the Dewgong's question from Gale's arms after pondering for a while. Do I tell her? "He did what he had to. I can tell he didn't mean the Hydreigon harm; at least, not in that way. You shouldn't judge another person so hastily, especially if you helped them do the thing you're condemning them for," she said, the last part having a rather pointed tone. "I didn't see you looking for a peaceful solution."

Theo snarled a bit, he didn't like being led somewhere without knowing what is happening. "Fine, I will follow this plan, even if I don't like it."

"And, little one, Nivia is my charge. I will be her protector until we find her original trainer. I will carry her if I have to." Theo said, a calm face coming back to him. "Now, shall we get on with things....Deoxys? If this is as urgent as you say, we should get a move on now."

"Very well." The ground shook, forcing most of those who had them off of their feet. It seemed like the mountain was near coming apart - and that wasn't far from the truth. The truth was far more severe. A strange tear opened up in the space ahead of Deoxys, seemingly absorbing all of the nearby light. "Quickly. We must move through the rift before it destabilizes further." After saying it, the alien Pokemon shifted into a lithe, streamlined forme and flew into the darkness, vanishing for what seemed like an eternity. "Hurry," it sent through the rift, startling the group into motion. One by one, you all took the plunge, and then everything was dark.
