Developers Voctrode Posted October 8, 2011 Developers Share Posted October 8, 2011 How does this not have replies? Oh well. [Trick Room Sweeper] Slowking (M) @ Lum Berry Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Trick Room - Fire Blast - Scald - Nasty Plot Slowking's always been a Pokémon that is associated with Trick Room, and for good reason. Boasting a respectable base 100 Special Attack stat, as well as 110 Special Defense, Slowking can come in on many special attackers that rely on their speed to dominate, and set up the Trick Room. Adding to its usefulness is the amazing ability: Regenerator, allowing it to set up, and switch away to something more appropriate if need be, regaining 33% of its health in the process. Naturally, being a Trick Room Pokémon, Trick room is a necessary move. Scald for Stab and burn due to Slowking's Defense being a bit lower than his Special Defense, Fire Blast for trolling, as the likes of Ferrothorn and other grass types like coming in and trying force a switch or kill it outright, only to be destroyed by fire blast, which nobody remembers it even has due to it being a water type. Nasty Plot only makes Slowking scarier, hitting an amazing 656 Special Attack after just one. As for the item, Lum berry is my personal preference to keep it from being hit by Toxic, and increasing its longevity in the long run, as well as causing the opponent to waste a turn trying to status it in the first place. Naturally Leftovers is a fine choice, as well as Life orb if you're feeling especially bold, which synergises well with Regenerator.
RynerTheGrand
How can this have no Sets. Slowking (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Regenerator EVs: 200 HP / 252 SAtk / 56 SDef Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd) - Trick Room - Nasty Plot - Slack Off - Surf Well this is my Slowking. im amazed no one besides the person above haven't posted anything on slowking. it saddens me. anyway Trick room and slowking goes together like Bread and butter. But this Trick room set is used as a lead for my teams. always try to set Trick room up first . Nasty plot and if you take to much damage Slack off. Then surf away. you could say add slack off it needs more moves that deal damage. Nah lwith the ev's i set on here he's suppose to be able to take hits while setting up then recovering the damage then destroy with surf. i had this set beat ferrothorn. With leftovers and regenerator this dude is a annoying force to take down.
Tenshine
AV King Slowking (M) @ Assault Vest Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) -Ice Beam -Scald -Psyshock -Fire Blast So recently, I had a look at Slowking's base stats and thought he could do a very good job of being a Special Tank using an AV, with his 95 base Hp, 100 base SAtk and 110 SDef, and from what I've seen so far, I'm right. As to whether this set is better/worse than the Trick Room set I don't know, but this is very good for catching people off guard. To be honest, I'm kind of happy the AV can help Slowking break out of his usual TR set. The set I run is simple, since I'm not the best competitive battler, but it's basically just 252 in HP and Special Attack, with a Calm nature and 4 Special attacks. The 252 Hp is so he can take lots of Special attacks, and a few Physical attacks (maybe), while dealing damage before switching out to make good use of Regenerator. As for the moves, I'm pretty sure they all speak for themselves. Scald for STAB and burn, Ice Beam for it's good coverage, Psyshock for hitting Special Walls, and Fire Blast because BURN BABY BURN!
