[SPOILERS] Question: what happens to the meteor?

This post contains spoilers for the very end of the postgame, so of course don't read it if you haven't completed it yet.

So originally, Arceus's meteor was located in the citadel of the Citae Astrae. At the end of the main story, Lin opens up the new world at the Citae Astrae. Child Lin, the Meteor, and Arceus end up in the new world, where you battle and defeat adult Lin.

 

The new world was originally primitive and unformed, but it evolves and develops as you progress through the postgame. As a result, the part of the new world with the meteor becomes the Citae Prisma. This is where you battle Necrozma.

 

Near the end of the postgame, Noel asks you to remove the meteor since it is clouding his vision of Lin. To do this, you bring Giratina to the Citae Prisma, and the meteor is warped away.

 

My question is: do we know what happens to the meteor? Did Giratina just yeet it out of existence? Was it warped to an unknown dimension? Was it transported somewhere else in Reborn? I'd like to believe that the meteor is eventually returned to the Citae Astrae, but for those who have obtained the Ebony Stonepiece, you can see this doesn't happen.
