[Almost just like the 4th Gen Specs set, but not quite. Volt Change is your new toy, and with your blistering speed, you can abuse it the same way Pokémon like Flygon abuse U-Turn. For a harder hitting Electric move, stay in and use Tbolt. Signal Beam and Shadow Ball both are effective on Psychic Pokémon, Signal Beam hits Grass and Dark Pokiémon harder, Shadow Ball hits Ghosts harder. Hidden Power Ice is more effective for Dragons, Gliscor, and Lightningrod Zapdos, while Grass takes care of Quagsire, Pert, and the like.]

Switch in on an electric move with a simple bait&pwn. I like using gyarados cuz then the impending thunderbolt is more obvious~
At this point they either have to switch or face off with one of the fastest pokemon who has some devastating special attack in the game.
You can choose to fight them off if you don't expect a switch (Tbolt and HP Ice are standard coverage for Jolteon) or you coudl set up a sub and pass it to your favorite sweeper. Either way, you've just one-up'd your opponent

Offensive Lead/Pivot

Jolteon (M/F) @ Life Orb/Choice Specs
Trait: Volt Absorb

- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Signal Beam/Thunderbolt/Thunder Wave/Discharge
- Hidden Power Ice/Hidden Power Grass

 

Basically, you send Jolteon out as your lead. Volt Switch can put a huge dent in most common leads, as well as allowing you to scout for switches. I prefer Signal Beam and Shadow Ball over Thunderbolt, but Thunderbolt can be used if you expect to stay in, especially if you're running Life Orb. Discharge is a good option for Doubles and Triples, or if you would prefer the increased paralysis chance. Thunder Wave also works to cripple incoming sweepers, though Jolteon is often OHKO'd by them. Shadow Ball and Signal Beam offer excellent coverage, and Hidden Power Ice will always OHKO enemy Noivern, Landorus, Garchomp, Gliscor, and a slew of other threats that would usually put a halt to Jolteon. This set can be Choice Specced to give it some extra power over a Life Orb, but LO is preferred due to versatility, since Jolteon has perfect coverage, especially when running Thunder Wave. Hidden Power Grass is another option to deal with the ever-annoying Rotom-W and a few other threats, but HP Ice gets better overall coverage.

I dunno what you think of the move, Murdoc, but I would consider adding Magnet Rise to the set beside Volt Switch. It's a great baiting tool and allows you to beat Pokemon such as Donphan and Garchomp straight up - one of my favorite moves on Jolteon.
