[Fanwork] Aevian Jynx

Enatsyrte

Recommended Posts

Hello there !

Today it's the final showcase of the Aevian Forms of the Valor Mountain moods ! We had a Fire Type Electivire, an Ice Type Magmortar, and the circle is now complete : we have a Rock Type Jynx !

Let's start !

The design will be quite similar to A-Palossand (Rock form). Their body will be like a Rock Golem, but they still keep a light and nimble look. They will share the same palet colour of this Pokémon, but will keep their hair. The hair will be crystallized and will change with evolution. The hair of the baby will be blue, to remind the former Ice Type of the Pokémon. After evolving, the hair of A-Jynx will be blue and pink (to make reference to Carbink and Diancie).

The Pokémon will be found inside the neutral mood of the Mountain and will reflect this temper with its personnality and design.

It's the end of the presentation. Jynx is not a very good Pokémon and clearly lacks stats to shine in battle. It was impossible to give more than 5 points in base stats to respect the rules when creating regional forms, and I had to make the design fit in the lore of Valor Mountain. So it was hard to give it some really huge buffs to make it better. It still fits the lore I designed. A-Jynx is a Pokémon who uses its voice to attack and can amplify its power with its crystal hair. The idea was the crystal of the Pokémon has the same attributes than those in Valor Mountain.

The last two aevian forms embody the Icy and Fire mood of the Mountain, but A-Jynx is the Pokémon which is clearly the unforgettable symbol.

Now let's see its possible sets !

124.pngJynx (F) @ Metronome / Interceptium-Z / Leftovers / Wide Lens...
Ability: Valor Crystal
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Crystalline Voice
- Moonblast
- Nasty Plot / Calm Mind
- Lovely Kiss

With this first set A-Jynx becomes a good set up sweeper. With its better speed stat than its regular counterpart, it can easily get off to sleep the opponent to set up some Nasty Plots or Calm Minds. Crystalline Voice in conjunction with Valor Crystal allows it to get a huge coverage depending on the situation. Usually, the combo Ice/Fairy and Rock/Fairy is resisted by

A lot of Fire Type, covered by the Rock Type. The only Pokémon sure to receive neutral damage against this set is Toxapex, and Nihilego. All the other Pokémon cannot tank the combo changer of A-Jynx. It still needs one turn to adapt its type and coverage move. It can use Lovely Kiss to insure its type change, but it doesn't work against faster Pokémon.
I think it will shine with Sticky Web teams, but not a lot with Misty Terrain Team since it needs Lovely Kiss to insure its set up.

124.pngJynx (F) @ Choice Specs / Choice Scarf / Throat Spray / Metronome...
Ability: Punk Rock
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Crystalline Voice
- Moonblast
- Boomburst
- Earth Power

This set has an instant firepower contrary to the last set. With Crystalline Voice and Boomburst, any non resistant Pokémon (such as Steel and Rock Types) will struggle to tank the combo. Actually, this combo is resisted by only 90 Pokémon (from official games). A Ground Type coverage deals with the 90 resistant Pokémons. Contrary to the last set, it can work in Misty Terrain Teams, because it loves avoiding being paralysed.

The drawback of the Pokémon is its quite frail defensive stats. It still can tank some neutral and resisted hit, but don't except it to become a bulky Pokémon even with Calm Mind. It's still a very good offensive Pokémon.

It's the end (for now) of the presentation of the aevian forms. If you have some suggestions for making other aevian forms, I'll be glad to read that. It's a fun way to developp ideas and concepts that Rejuv Team could use for later versions.
