Dexter
So, I was still having trouble beating shade. My team consisted of: Kirlia: 31 Gyrados: 34 Golem: 36 Emolga: 36 Noctowl: 37 Charizard: 40 Long story short, it was the bottom of the 9th and Gyrados had two strikes, 8 HP left and was burned after just taking down Chandelure, and everyone else was dead. Well out comes Spiritomb, the guy that no one invites to the party, but he just kind of shows up because nobody will say anything or ask him to leave. After refusing to lose again I decided to hit up some shops before this battle and see what I could pick up to help me out. I saw the Cotton candy acted as a revive, and purchased it (for 6,000) thinking sure why not. So I think what the heck. I pull out some cotton candy and start ramming it down my comatose Charizard's throat and I tell you, that must have been some good stuff, because he basically did what Popeye does when he eats spinach and went hulk mode (It was a max revive). It took a Dragon Rage and a Shadow Claw, and We emerged victorious. I never would have imagined fire-breathing dragons enjoyed cotton candy, but apparently so. Shade was seriously the most times I have ever lost to a gym leader. I'd like to thank you guys who suggested I use Gyrados, if it wasn't for you guys, I think I'd be at around 25 loses right now lol. Timber Dragon
To anyone who says cotton candy is bad for you, keep in mind it was the only reason a dragon was able to finish its fight with some ghosts summoned by another ghost. The life lessons Pokeymans can teach you.
Crimson
Gyarados really was a lifesaver for shades gym,, i happen to have Loudred there too, or was it explaud?? anyways, your lucky though that cotton candy is already available, in my fight i only have revives. need to invest money for those though. chuckles
i figured they were max revives but didn't think it was really worth it. I suppose it depends on your team; i've only used one revive once so far, and a couple potions and maybe ten super potions, and i'm on episode 9 in story i believe. I guess i kind of molded my team in a way that i should be able to get through battles and areas without worrying about things like healing and reviving. I only have 5 pokemon right now though. Honestly though i think if you lose that many times to Shade, you should probably consider changing up your team, because personally i feel as if he was one of the easiest so far, although not as easy as Serra. i don't use gyarados right now though because i have greninja as a water type.
