The Fush
So since I haven't found a topic for this anywhere in my life, and I happen to like Yu-Gi-Oh and play it often both in real life and on dueling network, I figured I can make a thread for this. Discuss anything to do with it here; cards you like, deck assembling, meta decks and competitive scene, archetypes, blah blah blah, advice on cards and stuff, bluh bluh bluh bluh bluhbluhluhluh you get the idea SO HAVE AT IT I suppose I'll just drop off here that Cloudians are my mained archetype even though they have zero power as a competitive deck right now; there's a lot of options and variety within the archetype and I'm afraid I also have a bit of a nostalgic love for them. Before I made a Prophecy deck recently, all my decks were either LIGHT, Fairy, or both, in different shapes and forms. I noticed this back when I only had Cloudian and Constellar decks; what'd I make next? Arcana Force: LIGHT Fairies. gg me
CynthiazZ
My favourite archetype are crystal beasts and advanced crystal beasts, i used to win every IRL duel with a crystal beast/ Hammon Lord Of striking thunder combo since the beasts go to the spell and trap card zone when they are destroyed they are treated as continuous spell cards so you can send them to the grave and special summon Hammon, and with the help of effects and ancient city rainbow ruins in play eventually summon out rainbow dragon for a OHKO on
Ojama Yellow
Huh. I didn't even know Yu-Gi-Oh was still a thing.
Fezzdog
I really feel like now is the time to get back into Yu-Gi-Oh! if you're interested in coming back to it. The January and March 2014 formats have been really balanced compared to the formats in the past few years, and with Arc V introducing completely new mechanics to the game, it'd be best to familiarize yourself with the game now before the new overpowered archetypes (looking at you Satellaknights) and Pendulum Summoning come out. As for myself, I love fast-paced swarm decks and OTKs. Right now my main decks are Norleras Turbo and Iron Chains. Iron Chains spam those level 7 synchros and rank 7 xyz everyday, Norleras Turbo clears the field and hands in the first turn hopefully. Sapphire
Gladiator Beasts all the way. I;ve won my last few tourneys with them (as they've lost popularity most people can't counter them-only Maldoches give me a problem). With the new lv. 8 2800 ATK Glad Beast coming out, I expect them to return to game breaking status (also the rumour is Bestiari will go to semi-limited soon-with luck, it won't just be a rumour)). Summer
Pretty sure i have like 2 threads up for yugioh but whatever, i'm lazy I don't want to play Yugioh this format because the OCG and TCG rulings are really messing me up and it's a shame, really. Hazy flames getting that insane unintended support from ocg (first monarch goes incredibly well with them) and on top of that, pendulum whatever is coming out so maybe if heavy and reborn comes back i'll play, but for now, Buddy fight is my thing. Nico Nico Nii~
My favorite deck atm to run is Gusto, mainly for Sphreez and attacking w/ weak gustos to bring out more weak ones to attack opponents monsters Also I'm getting a new deck this week and dueling my friend today online to see how it runs

Hazy flames getting that insane unintended support from ocg (first monarch goes incredibly well with them) and on top of that, pendulum whatever is coming out so maybe if heavy and reborn comes back i'll play, but for now, Buddy fight is my thing. Monster Reborn is never coming back; it's as fast as premature burial and and freely take boss monsters from the enemy graveyard; unless grave being a second hand becomes less of a thing, it's not seeing the daylight again. Also, hazy flames aren't really ridiculously powerful even with the support from the new monarch cards; considering their slow startup due to lack of special summoning skills. Though it's a given that the OCG is broken; I kinda dismissed it a long time ago when they had triple dragon rulers and shock master as a thing. I'd argue the TCG is more tame, though; at least more tame than the OCG. My favourite archetype are crystal beasts and advanced crystal beasts, i used to win every IRL duel with a crystal beast/ Hammon Lord Of striking thunder combo since the beasts go to the spell and trap card zone when they are destroyed they are treated as continuous spell cards so you can send them to the grave and special summon Hammon, and with the help of effects and ancient city rainbow ruins in play eventually summon out rainbow dragon for a OHKO on Been interested in the crystal beasts for a while; if I were to make a deck on it, though, I'd focus on Rainbow Dragon because for some reason the archetype doesn't feel complete to me without it. What are your thoughts on pendulum summoning, guys? I honestly think it'll be pretty balanced considering it's a riskreward mechanic, essentially; it takes a long time to set the pendulums on the scales because you need to draw the cards from your deck, and therefore the mechanic is more liable to being screwed over; but when you do finally set it up, you get to swarm a whole bunch of monsters, which could be insane in decks like Evilswarm and Constellars. The only thing I see possibly making pendulum summoning OP is Odd-Eyes, since he can search for other pendulums and make your time of getting them a lot easier. But I'm willing to wait until it comes out to judge fully. Also, really hyped for Shadoll archetype coming in the Duelist Advent. For now, though, I'm enjoying playing around with Cloudians, Constellars, Arcana Force and Prophecies.

With the newer support, I feel like Gusto can be tier 1, especially when Supply Unit is a thing. On another note, Satellaknights are holy crap strong. Unlimited Stratos plays for days, then go for Emeral and recycle and continue looping and looping for Deltatellos destruction.
The Fush
One thing I really don't like about satellaknights is that they're just a really lazy ripoff of Constellars in almost every way. Worse yet, they're made to be BETTER than them. I understand the logic from the Duel Terminal Story perspective, but I really don't think it's a good excuse to trash one archetype for the sake of another. derekwst3
I dropped out little after syncros but I would change my decks constantly, my favorite was a vampire/mill deck, it relied on sending monsters from my opponites deck either on the field or to the graveyard and then using morphing jar #2 (my favorite card) to mill the deck, I used vampire lady and vampire lord to send monsters away, I downloaded a online yugioh game too but haven't played it much

They get a new field spell which means everytime they mill, you get to destroy a card.
Nico Nico Nii~
I need some new Gustos, they're my personal favorite, and I also got a new Ghostrick deck today and tried it online against my friend at school too, and jebus this deck is fun and pretty powerful if the opponent doesn't have a counter for it, especially if they don't run much level 3 or below monsters because I also added a Gravity Bind since I have no monster above level 4. Against my friend using his new spellbook/prophecy I won since his main prophecy monster couldn't do anything, but at the same time he has no idea what to do with his deck so he still has to learn how to play with it. Also, how many cards should I run on a Crystal Beast deck, currently I (think I) have 50. The Fush
Honestly, on most decks I'd just run 40 cards because that's the best way to make sure you can get what you need when you need it most. I'm usually happy to go above it by 1 or 2 when I add a draw device, though.
chuckles
Gosh, i love Yugioh but i don't have anybody to play with right now.. Crystal Beasts are good i use them sometimes. My favorite card, due to how amazing it is, would have to be Raging Flame Sprite. If you are not familiar with it, it is a 3 star pyro monster with 100 attack and 200 defense, but it can attack directly, and every time it attacks successfully, it gains 1000 attack. I've won many duels using it, assisting it with a Level Limit Area B, or perhaps a Heart of Clear Water. One of the best though is to bring out a Solar Flare dragon before you bring out Raging Flame Sprite, and equipping it with Raregold Armor. When you bring out the Raging Flame Sprite, your opponent cannot attack Solar Flare Dragon but also can only attack Solar Flare Dragon, which results in an opponent's inability to attack anything. Without a magic or trap card to destroy your monsters, they can't do anything, and even if they have a Millenium Shield or something that would normally protect their life points, as high as the Raging Flame Sprite's attack might get, it can still attack directly. So nice.

Welp, it's going to happen when Konami wants to rake in the dollars. Also, how many cards should I run on a Crystal Beast deck, currently I (think I) have 50. Argh, I can't stand Ghostricks. So trollsy. And yeah, I'd agree with Fush, Crystal Beasts afaik don't get much draw power so stick to 40-42 max. I've also been testing a few Pendulum decks. Been testing a Blue Eyes variant, a Gadget variant, a Neos variant and an Apex variant. Apex is probably the strongest once it's gotten to its strongest point with all of that negation (then just summon it back again lol), but I feel like it's a lot slower than the BEWD variant because the BEWD variant gets so much draw power. Honestly, I'm not a fan of Gadgets in general, there's better Rk4 engines (hi Satellaknights again). In the Neos deck, Pendulum seemed very tacked on. There was probably less synergy than I thought there was there at first, I realised Neos was in the grave/deck too much to be relied upon for a Pendulum - > Rk7. Sapphire
In regards to the person who said 'Monster Reborn is never coming back'. That was said about it the first time it got banned. Same for Dark Hole. And Magician of Faith. etc.
The Fush
In regards to the person who said 'Monster Reborn is never coming back'. That was said about it the first time it got banned. Same for Dark Hole. And Magician of Faith. etc. I find Black Hole and Magician of Faith to be far more tame than Reborn; neither give you a completely broken advantage, though black hole can be sent out quickly so that's why it's limited. Just because somebody says it's never coming back, doesn't mean it is. To be fair though, it's not the worst of the lot (that would go to cards like Raigeki and Spellbook Of Judgement, etc). inb4 future meta involves graveyard prevention and reborn becomes limited
