Graterras, A World in Peril. [OOC/Sign-Ups]

No they don't have to be. It is just more style appropriate. Once again there is nothing stopping you from using a Crossbow, that is only listed in the Mountaineer thing because they don't have the space inside small Mountain Caverns to use a Longbow, by any means. On the Knife and Dual-wielding thing, you can fight with 2 weapons, the one in your less dominate hand however must be smaller than your dominate one. Basically, if you have a Longsword in one, your other hand can't have a Longsword in it as well. You could eventually learn to wield to same length weapons but it would take awhile. Knife Throwing to me isn't really a necessary skill as you have a superior Ranged weapon already, but it can be useful in a pinch (like if an enemy jams your crossbow or breaks it if a Longbow). Ranger's are warriors remember, while their not running around wielding Greatswords or 2 huge swords, they make up for their little bit worse Melee skills with Ranged combat skills.

So in short, Dualwielding, yes if off-hand weapon is smaller than the Mainhand (and I am the judge of that.) Knife Throwing, yes, but remember it is a desperation move. If you end up in a situation where you need to use this, you might not get out. Might is the keyword there.

and cool cool Aqua. I just get real impatient and don't want people to lose interest so I don't like to wait long for people to reply if they haven't. Hope you understand dude lol.

Yeah I understand, and I don't really mind my character missing the whole father son reunion thing, you've seen his background so you would know why xD

but THE SHOW MUST GO ON, as my production teacher says, if I wasn't here then that is my fault and it will just go on for a bit without me.

Yea, it is fine. In the current combat I think you will be fine, but then again once the Gentleman arrives you all are super duper screwed, however your characters have no Idea he is on his way, let alone who he even is at this point. (This is all planned by the way, so nobody will lose a character right away, but it will still be hellish, and pretty nasty situation let me tell you lol.) So have fun until he gets there since it will take a little while.

should we limit our post? or continue to describe the gruesome things we're about to do with his minions? :)

Edit: I'm done, don't want to flood the thread with mindless violence or do we?.

oh yea go ahead for now the chaos for the fight will be awesome. Once he arrives much different story, but for now your are fighting pretty weak enemies, since this is a kinda expedition force, the Gentleman is only around because he believes if you are going to test something, you might as well be the one to test it before handing it out to other people.

Okay, just want you guys to slow down the posts a bit, want some of the other PCs to get some airtime, and since they aren't on right now just need to give it a bit of a rest (there will be a point where I separate the groups since I fell there are a bit too many for it to all be one group the entire time. But that will come later.)

I couldn't find a language to use for my magic so I just kinda made it up as I went along XD

I figured that as a sorcerer, my guy would be pretty skilled at combating multiple people from range, but isn't particularly skilled at close range and can only really defend himself at that range by covering himself in stone or something else equally contrived.

I was actually more concerned that I'd seem OP :( It's hard to find a good balance when your character's alias is the "Stone-Caller"

EDIT: Welp

I mentioned the Black Glow for a reason, was waiting for somebody to sling magic his way. Also until the Phalanx guys you guys were all going to be op, the others are just rabble, these guys are the true force (and the only elite units here.) they are going to be super dangerous to you. (By the way the Gentleman is coming, probably once you guys defeat the Troupe of Elite Lizard-like things (by the way they aren't Lizardmen at all, these are a race I created for Graterras, but I am not telling you what they are yet lol. you will remain in the dark a tad longer lol.)

The sailors are backing you guys up, they just aren't heros so I haven't been focusing on them, I will insert a bit about them if think I need to though. (actually was going to have them take up the fight against the little shits so you guys can all take on the badass Phalanx Lizard-like People, and their Officer since that will be a real fight.)

Yes, you have a limited Empathetic link. What that means is you have a general feeling of where they are (like you don't exactly know, you know enough to be able to find them, but not what kind of area it is, what is around them etc.) They can also feel basic emotions through this link as well. while you can't send a direct message you can feel what their basic emotions are.

Yea they got a bit nuts, had to get them to calm down a bit since I don't want you and Acqui to become irrelevant in the events of what is happening. Also Graterras has gotten almost 80 posts in 2 days, I would like to point out.

By the way this next encounter with our Phalanx friends, no automatic blows or just outright hitting them, as they are equalish to your skill level. Their are almost PC status, so they know how to fight and aren't crappy silly rabble. Basically if you were to fight Odin, treat the fight that way, only with Big slobbering Black-Scaled Lizard freaks with Giant Shields and Pointy Pointy spears. (and some Kilijs [really not sure what the plural of that word would be to be honest.] for side arms.)

Alright, I edited the post. Could you maybe send me a pm giving some examples of what sort of things he might know now, and what sort of things will be reserved for later, just so I have some ideas? I've never played D&D before, which I'm assuming you're basing this off of based on some parts of the OP, so I don't really know the generally accepted order of things.
