Enatsyrte
Hello people ! I was checking some information about Furfrou and I found out it could be a very cool Pokémon to use if it has had a crest while being lore accurate. I think it could be cool to create a new quest in Neo East Gearen City with the hairdresser family whose the reward could be the Furfrou Crest. We know at the beggining of the game the mother runs another hairdressing salon for helpless people coming back from GDC. Plus, we know Adrien is the kind of person who strives for helping as much as possible. So it wouldn't be impossible Adrien would want us to help this family again. We could help them to create a charitable organization by donating funds, Pokémon or even finding volunteers and a new site inside the city. As a reward of the quest we could receive from the help center the Furfrou while the hairdressing family offers now to the player new haircuts for Furfrou. I've said enough for the quest, now let's talk about the crest. Since Furfrou is a very weak Pokémon with a very poor movepool, I've got the idea to give several effects to its crests. 1) New Haircut = a second dual type effect. Furfrou has 9 haircuts available. So the first step is finding 9 typings Furfrou could get. Normal form : increases the Normal Type STAB (x1.5 => x2.25) and its Fighting weakness Heart Trim : Fairy Star Trim : Rock Diamond Trim : Steel Debutante Trim : Flying (It may change according to your propositions since I'm not sure of this type idea) Matron Trim : Psychic Dandy Trim : Grass La Reine Trim : Water Kabuki Trim : Fire Pharaoh Trim : Ground To keep access to its normal type STAB, not all its Normal type moves will be converted. Only "Hapiness moves" such as Return & Frustration will get the second dual type of Furfrou. Note : the type gained by Furfrou also adds the types' weakeness ! 2) A new way to deal damage The main problem of Furfrou is it lacks damage to be a consistent Pokémon. So the 2nd effect of the crest is : using its defense stat to deal physical damage. To make this effect consistent for Furfrou, the Fur Coat ability should be taken into account for calculating the new attack stat of Furfrou. But to prevent it to deal unbeatable the Defense stat boosts won't be taken into account, so it will rely on Work Up if it wants to increase further its physical damage. (If the ability Fur Coat is not taken into account, then Furfou is not able to deal correct damage.) Description of the crest : Furfrou's physical attacks use its Defense stat. Gains a second type according to its trim. Hapiness moves become the trim type. Actually it could run this set : Furfrou @ Crest Ability: Fur Coat EVs: 252 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Return - Body Slam - U-turn / Work Up - Sucker Punch With this spread stat, it's like ith has a 201 BS attack stat without investment. But you could run a different set too : Furfrou @ Crest Ability: Fur Coat EVs: 96 HP / 252 Def / 160 Spe Impish Nature - Return - Body Slam / Sleep Talk - Work Up - Rest It would become a slow set up sweeper (requires time to set up), but still vulnerable against huge special attackers. For example, a regular special Lucario with Aurasphere + Life Orb is able to OHKO Furfou if it doesn't have a Fighting Type neutrality. Yeah I know it's a bit busted but Furfrou is a ZU Pokémon during Gen7 and it didn't came back since 2019 in official games ! So let's give it the love it deserves and together let's show how strong a loved Furfrou can be !
R.A.M CXZ 007
Weird to say it this late ,but shouldn't you give it stab on those types so to make it better Edit:Sorry I see it now good idea
Enatsyrte
In both cases, thanks for the comment ahah. Yeah one of the main problem of Furfrou is its lack of offensive coverage. With Dig and Rock Smash to deal with Steel Types, you won't go far, and the other few moves are good at most, but 0 coverage move >100. To be honest, I was so despised back in the day to see how Furfrou is so limited in its options. With my idea, it's still limited, but now it can perform as a bulky sweeper or a tank with more flexibilty. I think this Pokémon needs to be loved by the community
