Administrators Ikaru Posted February 3, 2011 Author Administrators Share Posted February 3, 2011 Through Rain, Sleet and Snow... But mostly Sun. Raikou @ Life Orb Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Weather Ball - Aura Sphere - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [Ice] I first used this set on a Sun team, simply because I thought Raikou having Weather Ball was awesome. Base 50 becomes base 100, which is then multiplied by the sunlight to 150... The same works for Rain, the only difference being the type of Weather Ball. You can also use Thunder too, if you're using Rain alongside it. This set could even be used in Hail to decent effect, though Weather Ball will take over for Hidden Power Ice, freeing up a spot for either a different type, or maybe even Extrasensory... The point is, using Weather Ball makes this a choice in any weather, potentially. The only problem is that, in using Weather Ball and/or Aura Sphere, you can't use Volt Absorb and get stuck with the near-useless Pressure; in addition, during Hail or Sandstorm, Weather Ball is only base 100, and Raikou taking residual damage on top of Life Orb recoil means it won't last very long. Another issue is that HP Ice lowers your speed IV, so other Pokes with the same base speed as Raikou will outspeed and damage you first...and Raikou's not exactly bulky. Godot
Wolf's Raikou Okami (Raikou) @Air Baloon EVs @ 252 SpA 252 Spd 4def Timid Nature (+spd/-atk) - Thunderbolt/ Thunder - Aura Sphere - Weatherball - Calm Mind Raiku is personally one of my favorite OU legendaries... my Raikou set is kinda like a mix between winter's and Ika's. i normally run this guy on rain teams so Weatherball is usually water type, but if people try changing the tides of battle Raikou can usually adjust to what they are trying to adjust to. if a sun user changes the weather, raikou can adjust and use fire Weatherball to teach those pesky Chlorophyll grass types a lesson. Aurasphere is beast and i am pretty surprised that raikou and Togekiss have it... it helps Rai deal with all of the Pokemon that Thunderbolt and Weather ball can't deal with... last Calm Mind helps rai become a beast and either tank Sp Attackers, or sweep
RynerTheGrand
The Fast The Furious The Electric Dog Cat thing Raikou @ Light Clay Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 100 Def / 156 SDef / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Light Screen - Reflect - Thunderbolt - Toxic Well behold not much to see here cept for a unexpected Dual Screener. Basicly with Raikou's speed and the fact that he gets Light Screen and Reflect i decided to use him as a dual screener. Working with 361 speed he out speeds most things in UU. with his ev's invested in Special Defense and Defense insures he'll be able to take some hits against neutral attacks. Thunderbolt is his attacking move need something when he's the last pokemon left on your team ya know? while toxic is there just for a filler it has it uses. Light clay is fairly obvious item to put on here. Volt absorb to make those electric hits useless (switching in on them of course) Again his speed factor is a amazing getting the screens up fast and quick to allow for another pokemon to start setting up. Well thats all this set has to offer.
Eternal Edge
@Ikaru's set, could replace Thunderbolt with Thunder in rain cause accuracy boost.
Shanco
Ya Got One Choice... Raikou @ Choice Specs Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Thunderbolt / Thunder - Hidden Power [Ice] / [Grass] - Weather Ball - Volt Switch Raikou is a very overlooked Pokemon. Thanks to its ability Volt Absorb, it becomes a bulkier, slower, more powerful Jolteon. It also has access to Weather Ball, which is very beneficial to any Pokemon who is lucky enough to get it; in hail, it makes a far more powerful substitute for Hidden Power [Ice]. Thunderbolt/Thunder needs no intro. Volt Switch does damage to a Pokemon that you aren't sure you can take out, like Metagross, so another Pokemon can tank a hit or two and finish it off. With Specs, Hidden Power [Ice] can OHKO Dragonite through Multiscale. Volt Absorb is there because Pressure is useless on a sweeping set where no attempt to stall is made.
