"It seems they're threatened by me knowing that I gained this kind of ability, so they jumped the gun hunting me down. Typical."

The bartender sighed. "Yes, unfortunately that seems to be how things are going." He paused for a while as they walked. "Before we discuss any more, I'd like to get somewhere more private. I belong to a group of sorts, and we have an empty warehouse a few blocks from here. We can talk safely there."

They walked another few blocks before turning another corner. The bartender let out a gasp as he looked ahead. There was a roaring fire a block down, across the street from a diner.

"That's the warehouse..." he mumbled. ”We've been attacked..." The police and fire department were gathered outside the building. The bartender seemed to collect himself upon seeing them. He grabbed Ace's arm pulling him into an alleyway. He spoke in an urgent tone.

"The fire will destroy any information they could have gained about us, so that's no worry. For the meantime, let's get out of this area.” As they ran down the alley, they nearly bumped into a young woman. She appeared to be half-Japanese. The bartender stopped, suddenly on guard. He turned to the young woman, and cautiously began to speak.

"Hello there, miss. Just what are you doing in a dark alleyway like this all alone?"

The young woman let out a small laugh as the man jumped. He quickly collected himself and spoke.

"Everything you just said is correct, and yes. I was planning on staying here, but from the way you've just approached me, I take it you have an alternate plan. Is that right?"

The woman put on a confused expression before studying his face as if to see if he were serious.

"Um, no, not really." She laughed nervously. "You just seemed a bit troubled. I always think it's nice to help a friend in need." She smiled. "Although, I suppose you could come with me if you want a safer place to stay for a while. The police won't find you there, I promise." She gave him an earnest look. "My name's Rebecca by the way. And you are?"

The man in blue nodded. "Sure, I can take you to the boss now. As for my name..." He made a sweeping gesture from his head to the bottom of his shirt. "As I said before, most people in the organization simply call me Blue, for obvious reasons. It is simple, practical, and easy to remember. I'll wait until after you've talked to the boss and come to a decision to decide if I want to share my real name with you." He stood from his chair, stretching a little bit. He reached a hand back down and grabbed the top of the chair. It disappeared in a blue flash. His light blue eyes met Lux's gaze. "I suppose we should get going, then." Without waiting for a response, he once again grabbed Lux's shoulder, and they disappeared from the rooftop.

The duo reappeared inside a large building. It looked like an office building from what was visible here. Blue led Lux down a hall, taking a right turn before stopping at the end of a corridor. A door sat in front of them, but the door's label was blank.

"This is the boss's office. He has an alibi working here, but in reality this isn't even a business. Anyway, this is where I'll take my leave. The boss prefers to speak alone." With that, the blue man teleported again, disappearing from sight. As Lux opens the door and enters the office, he finds himself in a well-lit workplace, the entire back and side walls covered in glass windows that overlooked a small wooded area. A large desk is placed in front of the windows, and a man sat behind it. He had chin-length, well-kept black hair, parted at the sides, and a shortly trimmed black beard that looped over his upper lip into a mustache as well. He wore a waist length blue jacket and jeans, which seemed out of place in the business setting. He appeared to be in his mid to late thirties, and he had a friendly and earnest face. He looked up and smiled as Lux entered.

“Why hello there,” he began. “You must be Lux. I’ve learned quite a bit about you these past few days, and I must say, you intrigue me.” He gave a serious look, leaning over with his hands folded in front of him. “I’m not just talking about your power, either.” He stared at Lux for a while, before leaning back in his chair once more. “I take it Blue didn’t make a good enough first impression on you?” the man asked offhandedly. He sighed. “I didn’t expect that he would. That sort of thing isn’t his specialty. Still, you must have many questions of relatively great importance if you’re here to speak to me.” He gave a friendly smile. “Go on, ask me.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Supernovae

Zweiss returned the firm handshake.

"Though I do have one question for you. If you are the leader of this group, Utopia, your gift must be great. So what gift has God seen fit to bestow upon you?"

Zweiss paused for a while, searching the man's eyes. After a while, he began to speak.

"My power..." He chuckled. "Not many in Utopia have dared to be so forward in asking me. He gave a one-sided grin. "Still, something about you is different. I will tell you. Or perhaps, I will show you."

As soon as Zweiss finished the words, Jude was forced to his hands and knees. It was as if the earth itself was pulling him downward. Zweiss looked over him, then flicked his hand, removing the pressure. As Jude collected himself, Zweiss turned to a fire hydrant on the sidewalk. It instantly collapsed onto itself, the metal bending easily, before imploding in a burst of water. As the droplets sprayed over them, Zweiss helped Jude to his feet.

"That is a taste of my power. The power of a king. The power of gravity."

The man in black sighed as Eugene fled. He had tried to tell them that this man was not suited for the group, but they insisted on trying. He was sure Zweiss would have agreed with him, had he not been out on his own errands. He grabbed a small earclip with an attached microphone from his coat pocket, and hooked it around his ear.

"Target has fled." he reported. "Move on to phase two.

He stepped out of the car, becoming invisible once more. His part of the job was done. They would have to kill the boy, of course, but that was up to the others.

The world around Eugene went pitch black. He knew he was still conscious, but it was as if the sunlight itself had been sucked away. He could here a voice.

"Come now, you aren't gonna just run, are you? Surely you wouldn't underestimate us that much..."

"a warehouse huh?" he raised a brow "yeah whatever, since i don't like being idle you know, i like to keep my blood flowing! les go bub!" he cockily said while he swings a one-two punch in the air.

Ace was kinda annoyed of how slow their phase is as they walk and complains like a child " Man, are we there yet? are we there yet?...Whaa!?" seeing the fire from a far as police cars rushed in. Ace saw the bartender's face in shocked and take things seriously as they fled from the scene. Frustrating as it was for him, Ace didn't use his ability knowing it will draw attention. they suddenly bump into this girl in the alley.

"Who in the blue places are you doll face?"

Lux grinned as the man behind the desk began speaking. Even if he didn't entirely trust how friendly the man seemed, the youth felt compelled to listen. He's a natural leader. He doesn't need people to listen to him. He's an inspirational speaker. Lux patiently heard everything the boss had to say, he began rattling off the two questions that seemed most urgent. His voice was even as he spoke, giving little away. "Indeed I do. First off, I would like to know what I should call you. And I'd also like to know why you're so interested in finding the pillar." Lucius crossed his arms, waiting for a reply.

"I'm Allen. I can warp the space immediately around myself. I figured I should tell you what I can do, since you showed me. I think I'd like to see this safer place, thank you very much." He gave a polite nod. I wouldn't assume she was a government agent, since they're sort of hunting people with abilities. He laughed abruptly. Before he was asked for an explanation, he simply stated, "I play too many video games."

Jude felt Zweiss helping him back up after his display of power. Truly this man was fit to lead, if he wasn't then why would he have been blessed with such a great gift? After Zweiss had fully helped him to his feet, Jude looked over to him, the fierceness in his eyes were still there, but there was also another emotion on display, respect. "You are truly blessed, Zweiss, I look forward to seeing that power on true display when we face the enemies of the Awakened." With that he grabbed he put his cloak back on, but left his shades, there was no more point in concealing his face. His days of running and hiding were over, he knew he was heading to a place of providence. A place where his skills would be appreciated, not persecuted. Truly Jude was heading towards his own Utopia.

Anver finally picked his way out of the maze of crates and cargo containers in the loading bay, standing in front of the large bay doors, the light wind rippling his blazer and pants as the cool of the outside air and the light of the setting sun lit up his face. This was it.... he was almost to the objective.

Anver looked down at his watch, the long hand and the seconds hand slowly moving in a monotonous Tick...Tick....Tick... Sound. he'd made good time.

twenty-three minutes left. he reminded himself.

He took the silencer of his Glock, and slipped the weapon into his pocket, it's silver-plating casting a gleam across the ground in the waning light. Red beacons were activating in the distance. Anver stood there, watching for a few more precious moments as the last remnants of sunlight dissapeared over the horizon. the temperature beginning to fall.he looked down at his watch once more.

seven-teen minutes.

He stood there a while longer, watching as the moon appeared in the sky, a few stars beginning to show their bright faces against the deep blue of the atmosphere. the red beacon lights on the plane began to light up.

Five minutes...

The light level had fallen noticeably outside....

And that, was what Anver had been waiting for....

for the cover of darkness so that anyone watching from the windows of the Airport or the control tower would have a difficult time spotting him.

He tore away from the loading bay doors, Sprinting at top speed towards the plane as it began to move forward of on the tarmac, gaining speed...

But Anver wasn't about to let himself be left behind... he cranked up the speed, breathing heavier and heavier as he gained on the back right wheel strut of the plane... the front wheel began to lift out of the ground along with the nose of the plane...

Anver put all his strength into his legs, leaping forward and grabbing hold of the wheel strut, using the adrenaline flowing through him to pull his body up and onto the strut, then reaching up and pulling himself onto a ledge in the wheel well, rolling over on his side and heaving in and out heavily. soon, the wheel was retracted, rising upwards into the hollow space beside him in the Wheel well. he looked at his watch...

no minutes left... I made it...

that was the last thing he thought as he allowed his body to drift off the sleep, the temperature in the enclosed space beginning to plummet as the jet gained altitude.

((Flux, terribly sorry If I may have violated a sub rule here... I felt it only logical for him to wait instead of just rushing out...let me know if you want me to edit this and I'll do it though))

Beverly jumped as two men nearly ran into her in the alley. " Crap, this is how bad stuff usually start in books" she thought to her self, as she looked around for the best exit not wanting to use her power again.

"Hello there, miss. Just what are you doing in a dark alleyway like this all alone?" one of the men asked well on guard well the other asked "Who in the blue places are you doll face?" a little bit after the first.

"Doll face that guy is so lucky i don't make him think he was getting attacked by bees for fifth-teen minutes. Calm down Beverly let it go, if that one is on guard then he probably wasn't planing anything. So just play on that." She thought to her self.

"Me? I'm no one i was just looking for a famous author whose suppose to live around here. But I think i got lost, and then i herd a explosion so i ran down here to hide." She said with a sheepish smile well putting her hand behind her head.

"Please tell me they bought that." she thought.

"Hi no one, I'm Ace.. this is bartender, bartender meet no one.. well it seems I'm the only one has name here..so nice meeting you" said with a fast phase rude tone. "we're on the run remember? c'mon!" said the impatient speedster as he waits for the bartender's reply.

"Indeed I do. First off, I would like to know what I should call you. And I'd also like to know why you're so interested in finding the pillar."

The man behind the desk nodded. "Very fair questions indeed. My name is Cedric Sterling. As for the pillar..." He looked up at Lux. "You can feel it, right? This force inside of us, pushing and pulling at our souls, urging us to the Pillar? Call me crazy, but I feel like that pillar holds some great secret as to just who exactly we area and why we were given these powers." He raised an eyebrow, looking Lux in the eye. "I find it no coincidence that people began to develop powers just after it arrived. I, for one, want to know why. Perhaps it is a remnant of my curious childhood, but I cannot simply leave such a mystery be. I fear that if we do not discover the secrets of the Pillar soon, they may be lost to us forever." He leaned back in his chair. "But I have a question for you now, Lucius. What do you plan to do with your power? Some see them as gifts, others as a curse. Have you given any thought to how you can impact the world?" He paused, a dreamful expression coming over his face. "I feel like we were all given these powers for a unique purpose, and it is our fate to decide what that purpose will be. Don't you agree?"

Zeus gave a jubilant smile at Keaton's response.

"Great! We can head back to Olympus now, since you're all ready."

The man in the blue suit, Poseidon, pulled out a cellphone from his coat pocket and dialed a number.

"He'll cooperate," Poseidon said into the phone. "Contact the police chief and have them pull out."

Zeus frowned, leaned over by Keaton, and whispered to him. "Poseidon's all business, so sorry if he seems a bit... coldhearted. Still, he's nothing compared to Hades." He shuddered. "That man's one scary son of a bitch. He's a bit cracked, but very powerful. I suppose you'll just have to wait and see for yourself, though."

After a short while, the police cars pulled away. Zeus returned to the door, sending electricity through the handle to unlock the door. Upon exiting the building, they found a white limo already waiting. Zeus motioned towards the door. "Let's go then."

The arrived at the newly constructed government building in the city. It was very tall, completed covered with glass windows. However, Zeus and Poseidon headed for a smaller white building branching out of the side. Poseidon punched a long code into the security system before the doors slid open. The inside of the building was very modern, and all the walls, ceiling, and floors were made from stark white panels. They walked into what appeared to be a lobby of sorts. Two men were already seated inside, one in a white lab coat with long and messy black hair, and the other looking almost as ragged. He had a full beard, wild black hair, and wore a brown trench coat. The man in the lab coat jumped up as Zeus's group entered.

"Ah, Zeus, you finally made it!" His voice was tinged with insanity. "I see you succeeded in your goal, just as I did. Very good, very good." Zeus motioned from Keaton to the man.

"Keaton, this is Hades. Hades, meet our new recruit, Keaton Aome. He looked past Hades towards the other man. "And just who have you managed to recruit, Hades?" he asked with a questioning look.

Hades looked excited. "Oh, he's a powerful one, I assure you. Says he has some experience too. He's 'The Crimson Tide'." He began to laugh uncontrollably for a while. Zeus shook his head in his hands before turning to Keaton. Well, I suppose the two recruits should get acquainted with each other. Poseidon, could you contact Ms. Archer and inform her about these two? They're to be taken off of the threat list." The man gave a curt nod and left.

"I play too many video games."

Rebecca gave a friendly laugh. When she recovered, she raised an eyebrow.

"But really, warping space-time?! That's impressive. You must be incredibly strong..." She gave her usual laugh. "I'll just have to make sure not to piss you off, then!"

****

They had walked for a while before entering a small forest. She led him to a monument overgrown with vines and moss. "Well, this is the place." Upon seeing Allen's confusion, she gave a wicked grin, fire flickering in her palms. Her voice was hard and steely when she spoke. "Actually, I just brought you here to kill you out of sight!" She laughed wickedly, her face a perfect reflection of malice and evil.

"we're on the run remember? c'mon!"

The bartender nodded, moving forward. After a few steps, he slowed a little, turning back to face the woman. He gave her a suspicious look. "I hope you find that author you're looking for..." With that he turned and began running down the rest of the alley.

Hmmm, so those were Zeus and Poseidon, they seem powerful, but not as powerful as Hades. Hades exudes an aura of power, though I assume it is because he doesn't try to hide his. Maybe Zeus and Poseidon are more powerful than they seem. Viktor thought to himself. He could never really turn off his reading skills, he was always observing the situation. Being a Solider and after that a SWAT team member he couldn't help it. He looked at the other individual that was brought along, another recruit. Nothing really stuck out as remarkable to Viktor, so he wondered why he was brought here. His power must be something not immediately obvious, like mine. But he doesn't even seem like a threat, but he is here, that means more. VIktor made no move to introduce himself to this Keaton, as Viktor almost always did, he would wait and observe.

When the world around him went black, Eugene panicked. Is this that guys doing? Is he going to kill me? Why? His heart started beating faster while he tried to find a way out of the dark. Suddenly he heard a voice, which made him jump.

“Come now, you aren’t gonna just run, are you? Surely you wouldn’t underestimate us that much…”

Eugene tripped and fell on the ground. There was another one besides the shady guy. What did they want from him? And how long had it been since he last used his power? He tried to rewind time, not that he had any idea on how it would help him, but it failed. Panic started to take his mind over as he yelled: “Who are you and what do you want from me? I never did anything to anyone so just leave me alone! Please! Don’t kill me!”

Lux smiled and nodded, finding it a bit curious (although entirely expected) that this Sterling character knew his name. The man seemed to be genuinely driven to find the pillar, unlike some of the other Awakened that Lux had met who wanted nothing to do with the whole thing and simply wanted to be left alone.

"I feel like we were all given these powers for a unique purpose, and it is our fate to decide what that purpose will be. Don't you agree?"

The youth's smile turned into a frown. Isn't that a little selfish? he thought to himself. He decided to speak up. "With all due respect, I believe these powers are meant for greater things. So I suppose that my unique purpose isn't unique at all; I want to be a superhero. I want to use my power to help protect those who cannot protect themselves," he said passionately, his orange eyes flaring as he felt the sunlight energizing him through the window. "I understand that you want to unravel the enigma of the Pillar, but I will not do it at the cost of innocent lives," he continued, still feeling himself energizing through the window. He looked down. His palms were glowing a soft yellow. He closed his eyes and concentrated, then looked back down at his hands. No more glow.

His decision seemed to pay off. The man in blue- Poseidon- must have rung up God... Wait, he was a god... to make the police go away. The three went down to street level and entered a nice, sleek limo.
The trip lead them to a large, almost glass building. Inside, the place looked very sterile, with white walls and clean chairs. Just how he liked it.
Zeus introduced Keaton, but before he got a chance to greet the devil himself, Zeus continued the conversation. The other man in the room was "The Crimson Tide". Apparently very powerful, if a god claimed he was. And that was his cue to go sit anywhere but next to the Tide. Hades, as well.
Keaton found a seat by the edge of the room and, seeing as only a few people were in the room, and took out his phone. He checked the security of the building they were in. He discovered there were incredible security measures. If he were to "check" the servers and databases of the place, it would take him a while. Days, weeks, even a month. Better get comfy, he thought.
The young man began by establishing his own counter-security measures in his phone. Afterwards, he would have to learn everything he could about the security in this place. Better get real comfy.

After a while, Kenny was starting to become tired of the lightless tunnels of the Sewers, so he decided that, Police or no, he would get up onto the surface and escape from the city from there. He climbed up a Ladder, and then started to lift up a Manhole Cover.

Anver awoke to an extreme chill in the air, able to see his own breath... not that it bothered Anver. He sat up, hitting his head on something hanging in the pitch black space... he put up his hand to try and feel what it was, noticing as it swung back and forth as he touched it again. he managed to stop it with his other hand, then felt around the mysterious object as he held it in place with his other hand, managing to find a small switch on the side of it, he flicked it, shielding his eyes as a bright light filled the space.

after several moments, however, his eyes adjusted and he saw that the object was a cylindrical LED lanturn. There was a small peice of folded paper tapped to the side of it near the top. Anver reached up and pulled the paper off, unfolding it. on it was a hand written message in blue ink:

Anver,

If you're reading this right now, then it means you managed to get in here in time to accept my offer to give you a ride back New York. Congratualtions.

I've ordered the pilot to fly as low as we can without breaking any Aviation laws (Well, anymore than my allowing you to stow away) , so you shouldn't have too many problems in terms of oxygen if you manage your breathing. I know that the Temperature in here isn't an issue for you.

Remember Anver, you're responsible for getting out of here undetected when we land in the city. if you're caught, I'm going to have to deny ever knowing you were stowing away.

The note ended there. Anver folded and placed it in his pocket.

Well... He thought to himself

Looks like it's gonna be some time in here... might as well occupy myself...

left without anything to do, Anver began to play around with manipulating the temperature inside the enclosed space as the Jet continued it's flight.

She's probably joking, but just to be on the safe side. . . Allen appeared to fold in on himself, shrinking to a point and vanishing. He had warped his way to the top of a small tree a short distance behind the pyromancer. "I sincerely hope that was a joke, because I don't see this ending well for either of us," he called out. I'm going to be driving the scientists here crazy, assuming they can detect fluctuations like that. This place won't hurt anyone, but it'll definitely be setting off Geiger counters for a couple hours.

Sometimes observing gets boring, sometimes gathering intel, much more invigorating. Viktor got up from his seat, and walked over towards the new arrival. He took a seat, while also taking out a cigar. He pulled out a match and lit it. He took a big gulp, and blew the smoke out. "Didn't expect another recruit." he said, sounding aloof. He didn't want this man to get a bead on himself, before he got one on him. He picked another cigar out of his jacket, and held it between two fingers out to the man. "Want a smoke? Or you one of those types that doesn't?"

“Who are you and what do you want from me? I never did anything to anyone so just leave me alone! Please! Don’t kill me!”

A man stepped out of the darkness, a single ray of sunlight breaching the barrier and alighting on him. He had short, spiked black hair and a menacing grin. He wore a black studded jacket, a spiked collar, black leather pants, and boots. He was of average height and very slim. When he spoke, it was in the same voice that had spoken before.

"You didn't do anything?" The man sneered. "I seem to remember you rejecting our very generous offer. Unfortunately, we can't just let you leave with the information you've gleaned." He reached into his jacket, flicking out a switchblade. He began talking idly as he approached, avoiding objects that could only faintly be seen by the ray of sunlight that followed him.

"You see, my power doesn't help a whole lot offensively, but it'll make it hard as hell for you to escape me without being able to see." The man flashed a malicious grin before the ray of sunlight disappeared. It was pitch-black once more. The voice spoke again, sounding much closer than before.

"You know, that light was purely for your benefit. I can see perfectly fine without it. The was a deliberate breath of air blown on the back of Eugene's neck.

"Come on, squirm a little. Make this fun for me."

Cedric Sterling's attention was focused on Lux's hands as they began to glow. He looked the young man up and down as this occured. "Your power reacts to your emotions..." He mumbled. He looked into Lux's eyes with a confused expression.

"Before we continue this discussion, wherever did you get the idea that we are taking the lives of innocents? We have done no such thing. I wouldn't dream of hurting the civilian class." His brow creased. "Intent as I am at reaching the Pillar, I want to do so with the least amount of casualties possible. There will surely be times when we come into conflict with the government. This is to be expected, the closer we get to the Pillar. However, are they not trying to seize those with abilities unjustly? We have done no harm to them, but still they send men after us. Tell me Lucius, as a hero, how will you react to what they are doing? If you consider those chasing the Awakened to be innocents as well, can you truly become anything but a criminal yourself? They will come for you, especially if you become publicly known.

Rebecca put a finger to her lip, tapping in thought. She called out to Allen.

"Wow, so you really can warp space-time..." she said incredulously." She paused. "I was only joking, you know. I just wanted to see your power for myself. Call me reckless, but hey, isn't that what fire is?" She said the last part with a grin, tossing a fireball between her hands. "If you still want a safe haven, I'd suggest returning now." She tapped on the monument a few times. A butterfly flew over from the back side, landing on her finger. She looked at it for a while. "I'm back, Beetle," she whispered, flicking her finger as the butterfly flew away. A few seconds later, the purple portal appeared on the surface of the monument. She waited for Allen to give a response.

some time later, Anver sensed that an outside force was affected the temperature inside the wheel well, he stopped playing with his abilities for a few moments...

It was definitely getting warmer in the wheel well, he could feel it... gradually but surely... that meant one thing...

we descending from a higher altitude... we're here...

a few minutes later, almost as if in agreement with him, there was a click and rrrrrrring sound as the outer panel of the Wheel well began to open, the landing gear engaging and protracting outwards, like a hand reaching outwards to touch the earth.

Anver pulled himself up from sitting to crouching, looking out at the ground below as the Jet continued it's descent, it was daylight outside.

Might as well prepare to get off this thing then Anver thought to himself, reaching up and turning off the LED lantern and placing it in his bag, as not to leave any evidence of his stowing away behind. He pulled himself up to the ledge, the wind blowing in and rippling his clothes and buffeting his face. the ground was still dozens of feet below...

Anver took extra caution jumping off the ledge, managing to grab hold of the Landing strut of the wheels and pulling his body close to the cylinder, the tailwind threatening to rip him off and send him plummeting to his death. he could see the run way ahead... along with about ten yellow and blue specks.... with black stick-looking objects in their hands... they looked like night-sticks, but Anver knew that there would more likely be assault rifles in their hands in fact.

TSA... Anver thought to himself

Those two must've come to and made an alert... I can't wait for a landing, if I don't get out off here now, then I'm screwed, and so is Donovan...

he began to try and think off a possible way down to the ground from here without dying on impact... then he thought of something clever...

Warm air rises... and parachutes rise when pushed by warm air... so...

he reached inside his blazer, zipping up the inner pockets there so as not to lose anything in what he was about to do... that done, he took off his bag, placing it at his feet on the landing gear as he held on with one hand and took off his Blazer with the other

God... If you've any mercy, you'll let this work...

with that silent makeshift prayer, he put his bag back on his shoulder, griping the sleeves of his blazer in his hand along with the lower ends of the jacket, forming a loop of fabric in his hands....

then he took a literal leap of faith, pushing himself off the wheel strut and thrusting his arms up to allow the makeshift parachute he'd turned his blazer into to catch the wind...

it worked as he had hoped... but a the rate he was going, he estimated that by the time the parachute landed him on the ground, he would be over the fence of the airport and on the tarmac, which would defeat the entire purpose of him leaping out of the wheel well in the first place. But he knew that would have been the likely scenario and had planned for it when he concocted the idea to parachute down. he began focusing as hard as he could on superheating the air beneath him, then on intersecting the temperature halfway through the air mass and dropping the lower half to sub zero, and then superheating the air below that, and so on and so forth, working as he'd planned and creating a series of up-drafts from hot air rising above cold air repeatedly...

Anver rose higher into the air, straining to keep hold on his blazer, but he concentrated even harder now, he was still likely to end up going over the fence of the Airport's tarmac. he now focused on undergoing the same process from before, except this time with the air in front of him, using the miniature cold fronts he created to propel the miniature warm fronts up diagonally towards him, causing a bout of hot gust that made him rise a bit higher, but more so backwards away from the fence, he kicked his feet around, turning himself in the air as he held on for dear life, now facing a not-very busy street.

Good... now just a little longer He thought to himself, proud that he was competent enough in using his ability to able to pull of his little stunt and again evade capture by authorities. He began to lose altitude quicker and quicker as he forced the air around him to cool to sub zero temperatures, stealing away the warm gust that had been propelling him along so far. within minutes he was approaching the street level, leaning forward, letting go of one end of his blazer, and ducking into a roll as he hit the ground in order to dissipate the rough force of how fast he had headed in to land. he stood up, his arms aching for holding for so long, but otherwise well. he checked to find that his bag was still on him, then put his blazer back on, turning around and watching as the Jet completed it's own landing in the distance, the door opening and a single man coming out, followed by several others in black uniforms and caps. they looked to be speaking to the TSA agents waiting for them. after a few minutes, the Agents spread out around the air craft, checking the wheel wells first, then entering inside the jet, presumably looking for something...

or rather... Someone :Kappa:

Anver turned away and began walking down the side walk at this point, can't helping but chuckle as he strolled.

"Damn I'm good"

"Sounds like a plan. Hope you're not upset about me being a bit paranoid." With that, Allen slipped downward from the tree, landing rather maladroitly on the ground before recovering. "Any explanation on the glowy portal thing?"

King Murdoc

"Any explanation on the glowy portal thing?"

Rebecca gave a taunting laugh.

"Nope."

And with that she turned and ran through the portal. The last thing Allen could see was her dark brown ponytail bobbing in the air as she disappeared, leaving him alone with the ethereal doorway.

Lux nodded sincerely at Cedric Sterling after the man pointed out somewhat incredulously that the younger man's powers reacted to his emotions. A confused look began to come over Lucius's face. "Wait... Don't everyone's powers react to their emotions? I thought that was just something that occurred normally," he elaborated calmly. "Does that mean there's something wrong with me, Mr. Sterling? Doesn't your own ability, whatever that may be, react to the chemical changes in your body caused by emotions?" He paused, reflecting back on what Sterling had said. He's no monster. He just has his own goals, and he seems to be willing to at least allow me the freedom to pursue my own. And his surprise at my ability's reaction to my emotions indicates that his interest in learning about our abilities is genuine, not calculating.

The youth grimaced, his mind finally focusing on the question posed to him by the enigmatic man behind the desk. He paced for a moment, collecting his thoughts, then turned back to Cedric Sterling. "You asked me how I'll react to becoming a criminal if the government comes after me, right?" He reached into the back pocket of his jeans and pulled out a laminated Polaroid. It was a family of four people: a teenager, a young man in his early 20s, and a man and a woman who were obviously the parents of the two. Lux pointed to the teenager. Upon closer examination, it was clear that this was Lucius Jett, although with plain brown hair and brown eyes. The rest of the family shared these traits. "As I'm sure you've guessed by now, this was taken before the Pillar arose." He pointed to the other young man. "My brother. You know, when the Pillar came up, Marcus and I were both convinced it was aliens. A week later, he was gone without a trace. Left his cell phone on the kitchen counter. Didn't bring his computer. He went off the grid." Lux looked fondly at the picture, picking it back up and returning it to the pocket. "I think he gained some kind of ability. Something that made him scared enough to run off. For all I know, he's been rounded up by the government and brought in. When we were little, my dad always told me that when the world came crashing down, the only person I should worry about was him." Lux sighed heavily.

"I'm not a criminal, Mr. Sterling. It's not illegal to have these abilities. Similarly, it's not illegal for the government to apprehend people they feel threaten national security. We are operating in an unprecedented legal gray area because laws are meant to govern the common man. But what happens when man becomes... uncommon?" Lux began to pace again. "You see, there is no law against non-lethally harming others in self-defense. Seeing as I don't even touch people to take them out, one could go so far as to say that the legal definition of assault does not apply to me. What I do is no different from shining a flashlight in someone's eyes. So I guess my answer is this: I'm not a criminal and I don't plan on becoming one. Even if I'm 'wanted,' it will not be for hurting people or taking them from their families."

Lux took a deep breath. Wow, that was a mouthful, he thought to himself. "And one more thing: I will find my brother. I'm just like you, Cedric. I want answers."

"Well these guys are rude, leaving a poor girl by herself in a dark alley....Wait did that guy call me doll face again. That's it time to make him fear bees." as Beverly was heading to grab the loud guy who called himself Ace, he fell down as a man hole cover that he was standing on lifted up.

"By the Elder god! First weird powers and now mole men coming out of the ground. My life has really changed hasn't it." she said as she saw a figure's head in the man hole.
